My husband and shared the baby squash appetizer. The eggplant purée made the dish. It was yummy! My husband had the halibut and clams, and I had the braised lamb shank. I was expecting more of an Osso Bucco style, but I liked Lola’s better. I loved the Mediterranean twist on an old classic. I only wish I knew how he gets that delicious glaze on the lamb. The meat practically fell off the bone. It was a marvelous dinner. I just wish we didn’t live 1200 miles away!
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. We had been to Lola once before and hoped our dinner would be as good. It was!! Only complaint was a side dish of sautéed radishes that were too salty. But the server was very accommodating. In fact, the service was excellent — always there when needed without hovering. Lola remains the supreme Michael Symon restaurant.
Went for an anniversary dinner, they sat us at a nice table, and did a special happy anniversary mini cupcake plate which I was not expecting, it was a super sweet touch that really did make the dinner more celebratory. Food is delicious and the prices correspond.
Amazing from start to finish! Portions could be just a bit larger though
Best dover sole I have ever eaten. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The pork chops were somewhat dry and bland, and was surprised about the quality.
Went for my mother's 64th birthday all the way from San Antonio. It was Friday night so busy and a little loud in the bar area, but once we were at our table it quieted down. We had a side booth next to the bar, it was great for people watching and watching the intriquesies of a world renown chefs restaurant! Also Jarrell was our server and without him our night and trip wouldn't have been as amazing as it was. Thank you to him and all of the staff at LOLA.
When you go, and you should definitely go, don’t be afraid to sit at the bar. The other patrons are friendly and the staff is amazing. Order wine just so you can watch them get it from the wall of wine. Get dessert. It is art on a plate.
Absolutely wonderful meal. This was the best dinner i’ve had in a long time. The scallops are amazing!
It's odd but when I go to a world class chefs restaurant I expect the same- not so tonight.
Service was fine we started at the bar and had a decent cocktail and the charcuterie plate was excellent- we decided to dine in the restaurant after our drinks and we ordered the chicken and lamb.
The lamb and chicken were both salty and dry- not at all even close to any refinement or flavor profiles indicating a skilled chef or restaurant. The dishes had to be sent back- the chicken was not just dry and rubbery but not enough sauce to compensate nor did the sauce have flavor-the lamb had a minor amount of sauce but sadly the meat was so dry it probably needed a vat of sauce to moisten it and add flavor as well.
Come on Lola I know world class -and this is not close to poor local fare...
Had the scallops and it was the best meal I have ever had! Great ambiance.
Great food , service , and overall food experience . Looking forward to eating at Lola and it did not disappoint . The bone marrow appetizer was amazing .
Excellent appetizers and fish. Cold corn soup with crab was delicious. We both ordered fish and had a terrific white burgundy. Had so much fun we ordered a dessert for the folks next to us and even tipped the assistant waiter (can't make myself say "Bus-girl.") Drinks were perfect. Waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive even though it was busy. Seated next to a large exuberant party and could have done without the volume from their table but nothing anyone could do about that. We will be back on our next visit to Cleveland. More fun than the Rock Museum which was a bit of a disappointment.
Fabulous place. Best Brussels Sprouts I’ve ever had
Great food here! Going to try Mabel’s next door when we pass thru again. It’s Symons other restaurant. Different fare. Wait staff were top notch!
The food and service were good, not great.
No complaints, just not what we expected
So delicious!! Michael Symon’s place does not disappoint. The food was amazing—complex flavors but totally approachable. More than once we found ourselves saying: “What is that flavor??” “I don’t know but it’s delicious!” The cocktails are great as well. But most of all the service was fantastic. Our server, Tiffany, was a gem—she took such good care of us, it made us feel like we were eating at her house! Definitely eat here if you have the chance!
Great place to have dinner. Large group who enjoyed a variety of food. Great Food, atmosphere and service.
I wanted a special place for a special occasion...and LOLA it was...The menu was a bit overwhelming but choosing the hangar steak was a win-win. Our server was Jerrell and he added to our special evening. which was our 57th wedding anniversary. He was attentive but not intrusive and extremely helpful in helping with our choices. Our anniversary dessert was a delightful surprise.
I think we'll be back, but not wait four our 58th anniversary.
Ordered Hangar steak and was essentially raw.....not sure if this was intentional for some culinary goal or not.....it was flavorful and still quite good despite this
But what was concerning, was when we finished and still had half of the entree on the plate, the waiter didn't even think to ask if we enjoyed the meal.....sure hint that perhaps all not well...
Beautiful place. Quiet enough to have a conversation at the table. I really liked that. Wonderful food. Everything prepared with care and it shows. Squash appetizer and pierogi appetizer were both fantastic. Lamb shank was outstanding. So was the hangar steak. Must order the potatoes lyonnaise--to good they'll make you cry. Great drinks. Good service. Overall, a terrific experience. Go there--you won't be sorry.
A reliably good dining experience. Ingredients are excellent quality, and the entrees are well curated and executed. It's a nice space, if perhaps a bit dark. It is a tad noisy due to both popularity and the open kitchen environment, so conversation volume level will be a bit elevated.
Service was great. Place looks great. Food has been a bit hit or miss. Both in taste and serving size. You can expect hit or miss in a chain restaurant. But $175 for two people you tend to expect good or better food.
This time the raw tuna was great. Arugala salad good. Little neck clams quite good. Dessert good. Wife's pork was a bit rare and chewy and lacking flavor. But she got a nice serving size. My halibut was quite overcooked and rubbery. Nothing really done to it to make it special. And the serving of the halibut and sides were miniscule. Seriously small.
Again the folks were great. Nice people working there.
Since the food is pretty expensive at Lola's there really needs to be full menu reviews available to help avoid the meals with tiny portions and lesser quality. Or better yet they should have these weeded out.
We loved everything we ate! We are definitely going back! AMAZING! The smoked pork chop was the bomb, the chilled corn soup was my favorite!
Enjoyed all the food. I had the halibut. Wonderful
Scallops were the shining star. The halibut was a little dry and lacked flavor.
Excellent restaurant! Highly recommend it. Service & food were very, very good. Will go there again the next time I’m in town.
The service was excellent. Was disappointed in the strip steak as, although cooked perfectly, I have had better/more tender steak elsewhere. My friend was also disappointed in the mushroom pasta as there was not a lot of flavor developed in it and had also had better elsewhere.
The beef cheek pierogis were very good, however, as well as our butter lettuce and arugula salads. Dessert was good as well.
The server indicated that the menu had just changed so new items were on there.
Just overall disappointed as we were very excited to eat at a Symon restaurant and it did not meet the expectation we had.
Very loud as usual. Need to lean forward to hear your company sitting across the table.
Portion got smaller but price increased.
Lamb shank fell off the bone and double crusted crime brûlée was delicious. Highly recommend.
We had received recommendations for great food, this did not happen, we were a party of 5, Walleye was overcooked, other dishes OK but nothing to write home about. Hosts are unfriendly. Service is slow and not in time delivering wine together with meals. Major disappointment after high expectations, maybe it was because it was overcrowded.
We enjoyed every minute. Great cocktails, well crafted menu. Very attentive staff. Great dessert.
Everything we had was delicious, beyond even any expectations: Beef Cheek Pierogi appetizer, Chantarelle Farfalle, Double Crusted Creme Brulee with apricot custard.
Fabulous corn soup with peekytoe crab
Entree of seared scallops with andouille sausage and corn sauté also excellent.
Innovative cuisine perfectly done
Excellent food & service. I had salmon & my husband had the pork chop...both were delicious & prepared perfectly. Our server, Brian was friendly & attentive to our needs. Loved the expresso martini & my husband enjoyed his irish coffee after our meal.
I loved the whole experience. I have been wanting to come here for years. We drove 5 hours to eat here and i would love to come back. With that said I would not order the steak again. We ordered the strip and the hanger and we both were disappointed. Chewy not tender and lacked flavor. Ordered it medium and it came medium rare. Loved the butter salad, fingerling/onion potato and the beef check appetizer was also good. Our waitress was very nice i think her name was Hannah. We didn’t comlain wenjust ebjoyed the experience.
Once again our server was fantastic. He was good at what he does. the ambiance was quiet and we had a booth so it was quite private. we're happy we weren't in a table that was mashed together. (tables are too close). The drinks were great. some great recommendations from the server. the Food was very good. We started with the Beef cheek perogies and they were so delicious. Maybe the best thing i ate in Cleveland while we were there. I could have ordered 3 more of them and not had a main course. My wife had the pasta and she was very happy. She said it was better than the sardi at Greenhouse tavern the night before (i didn't think so). I had the flank steak. It was very good as well. The fries were amazing. I'm not a big steak person so i maybe should have had something else but i was happy with the flavors. For desert we had the Peach ice tea sorbet and the blueberry chipotle sorbet. They were both AMAZING. It was nice and light after a big meal. Overall the meal was good and we would come back.
Loved pierogis, fish and chips apps and lamb shank was to 5 meal if 2018
Lola is always good! Decent menu with some nice variety - our party of 6 all enjoyed their entrees and desserts. The drink and wine list are expansive. We appreciated the table by the window and service was excellent. Thanks Lola!
