Awesome scene downtown. Menu and decor are top notch. I felt the service was kind of slow for our larger party of 10 people. Only one server assigned to us. Also the food wasn’t executed great. Some cold appetizers. Overall, I’ve been to this restaurant before and have had excellent experiences. This time was hopefully a fluke.
Every course was fantastic. Highlights were the Fish and Chips and Beef Cheek Pierogi starters , Mulard Duck, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Would recommend to anyone for any occasion worth celebrating, or for a fun night out.
Special Honorable Mention to the Sturgeon and Hanger Steak, as well as the 6am Special.
Outstanding food and amazing service. The staff all went out of their way to make it a great meal and evening.
This was our second visit to Lola and it definitely did not disappoint. The food is absolutely fantastic and the presentation is very impressive. The service is top notch as well.
We no problem getting a Friday night reservation for four earlier in the day. We were sat immediately. The food was delicious for the most part. Service was attentive and detail-oriented. The restaurant was dimly lit and loud, but not too loud where we couldn't hold a conversation.
The beef cheek pierogi was the standout appetizer. Entrees were classic proteins with one vegetable dish. The scallops were probably our favorite entree and the polenta was the favorite side. My rib-eye was too aggressively seasoned with either kosher or sea salt resulting in about 3 bites that were face cringing salt bombs. Regular table salt would have worked just fine. Save room for dessert, the 6 AM Special with brioche French toast and maple bacon ice cream.
The servers did a great job of describing the dishes and keeping the table bussed and crumb-free. Nothing about him was that memorable which means he did a satisfactory job, but didn't stand out too much. With drinks and three courses the price was $70/person before tip. Overall, a great meal and a wouldn't hesitate to return.
This is the 2nd time we have been to Lola and it continues to exceed our already lofty expectations. Menu is small compared to most high end spots, but they nail every single aspect of it. I had the beef cheek pierogi which was off the charts. For entrees 2 of us had the duck breast and 2 the lobster. Clean plates around the table were indicative of how amazing the food was. Wine list is impressive and not ridiculously over-priced. We consumed a few bottles of '15 Darioush chardonnay in addition to some well-priced reds by the glass. Highly recommend. A+
I was really looking forward to going to Michael Symon’s restaurant but was overall really disappointed. The tuna tartare was very acidic and didn’t have very much flavor. Then, I omitted the bacon from the Scallops and it was overly seasoned. My mouth was filled with so much salt that I ate bread to get rid of the salt.
The best parts of the meal were the toffee pudding dessert (however add more ice cream) and the warm bread. I hope my experience was a one off and this is not reflective of Michael Symon’s food.
Our food was outstanding. Service was excellent. However, I do think that it is rather pricey for just a weekend dinner out. Would only go there for special occasions.
Excellent dinner and fantastic service. Enjoyed the wine list too.
The food was spectacular! The service was wonderful and so friendly!
