Lola - A Michael Symon Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I was really looking forward to going to Michael Symon’s restaurant but was overall really disappointed. The tuna tartare was very acidic and didn’t have very much flavor. Then, I omitted the bacon from the Scallops and it was overly seasoned. My mouth was filled with so much salt that I ate bread to get rid of the salt.
The best parts of the meal were the toffee pudding dessert (however add more ice cream) and the warm bread. I hope my experience was a one off and this is not reflective of Michael Symon’s food.
From beef cheek pierogies to bacon wrapped sturgeon, Lola keeps coming up with creative and delicious food offerings. Our server was excellent, the wines were great and the experience was what we've come to expect. So lucky to have Michael and his crew in Cleveland.
While vacationing in Cleveland, Ohio our hotel recommended Lola’s for dinner. We loved it from the moment we walked inside the restaurant. The dishes and drinks that we chose with the help of our waitstaff were wonderful. (Creatively prepared dishes which arrived with little or no wait time.)Too bad the restaurant is so far away from our home.
This restaurant was awesome. from the time we walked in, until the time we left, we felt taken care of. The signature cocktails were awesome. Our service was outstanding, as was the food. And since it was a birthday, they brought a special birthday dessert to the table. The restaurant was recommended to us - we will definitely go back.
We went there for our 45th anniversary. I used the open table app and had a table within 15 minutes. We live within walking distance, which made it very convenient. The wine list was extensive and included a wide range of prices. The food was good and displayed artfully. We were surprised at the end of our dinner with cupcakes and candles. Thank you for a lovely evening.
The group of four of us came here for a pre-theater dinner, we each got a different entree and and shared the Charcuterie boar. The entire experience was wonderful, our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive and the staff worked together not missing a beat which I truly appreciate. My only ask is that they filter their tap water as it had a bit of an off taste.
Overall experience was great. However, we arrived 10 Min early just before 5 with our 6 year old and it was freezing out tonight. there was another couple there standing outside also and they would not unlock door to let us in. Clearly saw us as they let someone at and proceeded to relock the door. Didn’t appreciate that.
Two of us had the Hanger Steak.,.t had a good flavor but was a little tough...I had the cauliflower side, which was good. We had the squash side, which I didn’t like because it was a little raw and had the skin on it.. one person had the scallops.they were good. Then we had the buche de Noel , which was too chocoately for me and too little ice cream to accompany it to cut the richness of the chocolate. We also had the crepe brûlée, but it was egg nog or something, and the spices were a bit too strong... we also had the s’mores desert...it was good, but the toasted marshmallows tasted a little funny....maybe the torch fuel? Overall I don’t think I’d chose any of the dishes we had if I went again and didn’t really see much else on the menu that excited me...so it was our first visit and it didn’t make me say I really want to go back.
From the server to the food, it was an all around wonderful dining experience. The server was not only knowledgeable about the food, drinks, and wine, but he was also very friendly and hospitable. The food did not disappoint, it was top top-notch in presentation and in taste. I have been to Lola's twice and I have never had a better steak anywhere. It was perfectly done to my liking and it looked like a work of art. Last of all, I do not dine at upscale restaurants often. However, the staff did not make me feel like I was "out of place" but were very hospitable and down to earth. I am from Youngstown and it was definitely worth the hour and fifteen minute drive!
Well what can I say.... great cocktails, great food, well presented, good wine list, great service.... all at a price the was well worth it.
Probably the best restaurant experience I have had in all 2017, and I have frequented many restaurants in New Orleans this year having recently relocated here.
Suggest saving this one for a special occasion..... It's very good :)
We were thoroughly pleased with the food. It was extremely fantastic. It was our anniversary, and they made it special by acknowledging this with a surprise treat. Our waitress was nice and very considerate. Our seating was to a view of the kitchen and in a private section which enriched the experience.
