Our dinners were all delicious. It felt like the kitchen has definitely upped their game to a higher level. We were all very happy with our meals. Our waiter was friendly & attentive without being intrusive. Our table was quiet & had some space around it so we didn't feel crowded. All in all, a terrific dinner out & very good value. So glad to have Logan Tavern in the neighborhood.
Our group went to the Logan Tavern for dinner before an 8:00 PM show at the nearby Studio Theater. We were seated in the dining room, which was considerably quieter than the bar on this particular Saturday evening. The service staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We shared two appetizers (Spring Toast, and a dish involving artichoke hearts), and had chicken paillard with smoked gouda polenta, blackened salmon, and southern fried chicken as out entrees. The food was terrific -- well cooked and well presented, with interesting fresh ingredients. We definitely took our time, and were in and out in 1.5 hours, in time for a leisurely stroll to the theater. Strongly recommend the Logan Tavern as a casual venue for a pre- or post- theater meal.
Pretty reasonably priced and glad they had kids options. Slower service.
Efficient, friendly service. Attentive but not overbearing. Broad menu selection and reasonable prices. One of my favorite in the Logan/Dupont area. No rush and low noise level for conversations.
Our service was excellent, she was mindful of our theater tickets, the food was delicious and you gained 4 new patrons because they had never eaten there. Our four eats there regularly because of the food, the service and the proximity to Studio. You now have EIGHT regular customers!
Terrible terrible experience for our group of 28. Our waitress was extremely rude and unaccommodating. Every request was met with a scoff, as if she were doing us a favor. Food also left something to be desired.
The waiter was great, very accommodating and helpful with special requests. The lamb was cooked right, although I would have liked a larger serving for the price. Would certainly go back again.
This was a great meal from the start. The host offered us a booth with an added chair for our party of 5, or a round table. We chose the round table so as not to be cramped. When our friends arrived, we found out one couldn't make it. On a Saturday night, we didn't want to take up a 5-top for 4 of us, but they refused to move us -"No problem. No need to interrupt your meal." The food was amazing. The grilled Caesar was amazing, as was the boneless southern fried chicken. Service was very attentive. Thanks Morgan! We were there because we were seeing a show at Studio Theatre, but we'd go back just for the food and service. Thanks!
I had the asparagus bisque soup which was delicious, followed by grilled salmon with Israeli couscous and vegetables. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and prompt. Nice casual vibe.
Pre-theatre dinner. Steak on salad was extremely tough and almost inedible. However, seared tuna was great.
Logan Tavern was just right for a Sunday meal before Studio Theater. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food exceeded expectations.
Last night visiting in DC and made a reservation for 8:15. Got seated after just a couple of minutes and the staff was very kind and attentive. The food was fantastic. Noise was a little loud but not too loud to hear conversation. I would recommend to others.
Outstanding food and cocktails. Very attentive service. Quite loud. Would definitely return. My salmon was delicious.
Our waiter was great. We had our one year old nephew with us and he was great making sure his food came out quickly. Our burgers were cooked perfectly and were delicious. Too bad we live out of town, this could be one of our favorites.
We had a great experience at Logan Tavern. We were a party of 3 visiting from NYC and brought along our small pup. They were super accommodating and gave us a lovely table on their patio. They even brought over the heater when it started to get chilly. Food was great too! Will return when back in the DC area.
The service by Winter, was attentive but did not push us. My Salmon sandwich was just right and my companion seemed to enjoy her food. I'm old so the moderate noise level was better than some other places . I go to the restaurant 5-8 times per year.
Good food variety. Excellent appetizers and vegetarian options
The server was one of the best people we met while in D.C. couldn't have asked for a more personable waiter. Thank you Henderson. Cocktails and food outstanding.
Overpriced for very mediocre food at best.
We had a great Easter brunch experience. All of our food came out in a timely fashion and to order. They were even able to accommodate our late additions to our party. Delicious! We highly recommend the French toast!
The setting is communal focused with moderate noise level. We arrived for 7:15 reservation. Ordered quickly. Received our salad and appetizer at 8:50. Meal after complaining to manager / server came 9:20. No rational reason could be given as to why service was so delayed. Would not recommend nor will ever return. Avoid if party greater than 6. Smaller tables all received dinner timely.
Delicious food; friendly and fast service; fun neighborhood environment.
Service was very good, a challenging night due to massive influx of diners into DC for the weekend’s March. Our server was quite friendly and attentive at the beginning, but we had to get some condiments on our own later after entrees were served. Food was great, hot and fresh, and our drinks and water were freshened regularly. We drank soda, and the first round was a bit flat. They corrected this on our refills. The place was packed starting around 8:30 pm on Saturday, so the noise was definitely a little more than a average, but the overall ambiance is always enjoyable. If you have never tried this restaurant, we definitely recommend checking it out.
Fantastic server who kept his cool during a particularly busy "in between" dining hour. Food was good quality and a decent portion size.
Very disappointed in the food, flank steak was covered in white sauce and then thrown on a plate full of rosemary covered fries. Very unappetizing. Turkey burger wasn't a hit as far as taste. Our 3rd diner played it safe with soup and salad - we all should have done the same.
A continued favorite! As always, Logan Tavern is a lively, comfortable, friendly dining experience. It combines a great casual/bar atmosphere with a wide-ranging menu with excellent food, and with staff that really aims to make you happy. It's not often that I leave a 40% tip, but I did. A keeper in my book.
I was at Logan Express for dinner with 3 out of towners. Food was delicious and service, top notch!
Great food & service.
Good service for a party of 11. Great neighborhood food and feel when you grow tired of D.C.'s "big name" eateries.
Great atmosphere. Cool interiors. Excellent Food. Varied menu. Moderately priced.
Excellent as always.
We really love this restaurant! Once again the Ginger Calamari was excellent and the Purple Gnocchi was so tasty with the pistachio pesto. Our waitress Trish, was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu! We shall return!!!
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant with a great urban vibe.
It may be less flashy than some of the other restaurants in Shaw, but the reasonably priced menu, the quality of the ingredients and the consistency of the cooking make Logan Tavern a great choice for a meal. It's obvious by the crowds streaming through the place on a Saturday evening that lots of others feel the same way too. It is capable of pulling off comfort foods like a boneless fried chicken or meatloaf, but can deliver a fresh perfectly-timed mahi-mahi on risotto that is more than creditable as sophisticated fare.
Our server, Henderson was an absolute pleasure! He had great recommendations and was very enjoyable. Food + cocktails were fantastic! Highly recommend!
Nice neighborhood place, good food, good prices
My friend and I met up here for dinner. Henderson was a great server! He was friendly and funny. My friend and I both got the fried chicken dinner. It was tasty! The apple fritter dessert was fantastic! Make sure to try the apple fritter dessert and ask for Henderson to be your server!
Dinner with friends before Studio Theatre. It had been a while since being there. We call commented that perhaps even better food and service than we recalled. Very enjoyable and reasonable.
Great food and service.
Took my parents here this weekend - lively bar scene, amazing food, and accommodated our family with gluten free requests! Highly recommend the curry meatloaf!
