Logan - An American Restaurant

We have enjoyed Logan many times in the past. But tonight, on a night when the waitstaff was challenged by some difficult customers, the restaurant delivered exceptional food and service. What a great menu! Our waiter was terrific, the kitchen was inspired. We will be back!

Food was, as always, very interesting and fresh and innovative. I had never eaten pesto mashed potatoes before, but as the basis for laying a piece of fresh caught salmon on, they were terrific! The pork belly special appetizer was excellent with its cherry gastrique--just the right amount of swee t and sour. Service tonight was a tad less attentive than we have had other times we have eaten there. Overall, another great experience.

The food was excellent as was the service. I believe this is the best restaurant in Ann Arbor. A great place for a date or a special occasion.

It's the little things that count. A big change is offering more petite plates. I had the "petite" short rib and I can't imagine the size of the regular (probably could feed two!). Also, thank god someone in Ann Arbor is serving bone marrow. Ok, not for everyone, but for those of us who love it, we hunt it down everywhere. And finally, if you do get the short ribs (or anything else saucy for that matter), get the potato pave too. Soaks up the sauce and you then don't have to lick the plate!

This is a fabulous restaurant. The food is delicious. The service is solid. I really appreciate that they have both petite and regular sized serving portions of most meals. Such a novel and appreciated idea. Planning to go back soon.

While the ambiance and service was v good, we were disappointed with our half orders of Perch Tempura which were $15 each. It consisted of three very small pieces of fish, coated with a lot of batter together with a coleslaw that was quite salty.
The ravioli dish was great as usual.

We’ve eaten here a few times and every time we do we always say why don’t we eat here more often. Such great food, service and drinks! They were super accommodating of our 5 year old as well!

I choose Logan for excellent food, service and location in the heart of Ann Arbor. My birthday
dinner, this year as always, was one to remember.

Logan is a GEM. Every time! It had been a while, the menu was a bit bigger. We had a specialty cocktail and it did not disappoint. Steak was a little buttery but that's the way isn't it? GREAT SERVICE!!

The hostess was very nice and helpful. The waiter looked grubby and was both bizarre and aggressively offensive---waving his arms around and gesturing with his hands, pointing his fingers, talking in a weird sing-song without enunciating, so that it was hard to understand what he was saying above the din of noise from adjacent tables. It was as if he were mocking us, putting on a performance to emphasize his importance. He gave us a defective menu. He went on and on with his show and interrupted us numerous times. Worst of all, he put his thumbs into the plates! yuck! Who knows where that thumb had been ... that's one way to cause a paying patron to have a GI incident later on. Not nice---just plain disgusting. He did not like being asked to keep his thumbs out of our plates and out of the bread. I called later to suggest to the manager that this was an issue--but the manager did not seem to get it, not did he offer me anything but a defensive reaction. No thanks or free glass of wine for a future visit. Logan clearly thinks that it is so great that it need not respect either diners or rules of hygiene. Food was good but overly salted and VERY small portions. Barely any vegetables. Is this the restaurant's way of trying to be chic in little Ann Arbor? I might recommend the food but not the total experience, though most restaurants in Ann Arbor are even worse! Pretentious, over priced, grubby, noisy, not worth the cash.

Great food, excellent service! I love the option to try many different plates by ordering the "petite" version. My husband and I shared an appetizer and 4 different main plates- left content without breaking the bank! Highly recommend as a nice date night spot.

Excellent meal with great service. Like being able to get a smaller portion entree for a lower price.

The food was amazing! Well worth the price. Service was great as well. We were able to get our food pretty quickly after ordering it. Would recommend to anyone and everyone looking to have some of the best quality food in Ann Arbor.

Thank you for an outstanding Valentines Day meal. The courses were outstanding with perfect portions. I had to buy a drink in respect to the chef maybe I should have bought him a bottle instead for his great body of work. Count us back for next year along with other couples that I will recruit.

Outstanding service and food. Pretty good drink and wine list. Lots of dishes to share, made even more so by offering half orders on the entrees. It's a bit pricey, but we had a marvelous dining experience.

Delicious meal. Great service. Loved having options for smaller portions. Tables quite close as most restaurants are these days. Otherwise found it quite good and will definitely go back.

Service excellent, food was in the right portions, leg of lamb, excellent, duck was tasty. Good value, if celebrating a special occasion. Noise level, a tad much because of the ceiling height.

Excellent food and service

We came to Logan with a party of nine for a special occasion. We all chose the tasting menu and wine pairing and left everything up to the waiter (Jude) and the kitchen. The whole experience was fantastic. Service was efficient, approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. Food was amazing.....a variety of tastes which were all perfectly prepared. Each course arrived at the table hot which is not always easy for a large group. The wine selections were interesting and well chosen. Overall a five star experience. Thanks Logan for a nice evening. We will be back soon.

As is our usual experience dining here, the food was very satisfying and the service staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Our server was so attentive and knew the menu well. He helped us with the specials and the food was outstanding! So very delicious! We can’t wait to go back. Well worth the stop!

Went to Logan during restaurant week. We initially were disappointed that we couldn’t order off regular men, but food that was offered was excellent. Wait staff was very attentive. My first time here - will definitely go back.

Logan is always worth it, but Restaurant Week makes it a little more accessible. The wine pairing was luxe, service is always charming.

Every aspect of dining at Logan was excellent. We enjoyed the ambiance, the food was excellent, our waitperson was professional & friendly, and the price was good since we went during Restaurant Week.

When we go out for a special occasion, Logan is the restaurant of choice. We were there this time for Restaurant Week. We enjoyed variety of the selection and each dish was delicious.

Restaurant Week specials, especially the Thai back ribs, were excellent. Keep it up. We will be back.

Went for restaurant week. Decent menu and options but portions were quite small. Prefer to have the option of ordering a la carte as well but understand kitchen staff may have been a limiting factor.
