Logan - An American Restaurant
I usually love Logan -- this particular evening they were off their game. Service and food were ok this time, but not up to Logan's usual standards -- perhaps they were overwhelmed with volume from Restaurant Week. My biggest complaint was the very cold draft at our table every time someone opened the door. Logan needs to find some way to buffer the effects so its dining patrons aren't uncomfortable.
Logan is always a home run. The food is excellent and interesting
Ambiance, food, and service were all exceptional. Great restaurant!
Lovely first time at Logan! The waiter was very nice and friendly and the food was a great deal for AA Restaurant Week!
Ann Arbor gem! Food is amazing and staff are 1st class. Top of the list!!
Another great experience for Restaurant Week here, and the courses complimented each other perfectly (along with the wine pairings). The only slight thing I noticed was the atmosphere was a little rushed...but based on the quality and number of customers, I'm not too surprised.
The food is fabulous, that being said the decor and atmosphere is not up to a high standard. Its not at all cozy and also is very loud. If I go out for a fine dining experience and my chair is next to a wall of coats that does not ooze charm. An interior makeover and this could be the hottest place in town.
Logan is my favorite. I wanted to go there for a belated birthday celebration, and it was restaurant week.
My second time here and I just loved it. Both times happened to be during Restaurant Week in Ann Arbor. The hostess was very welcoming. The menu contained items that were prepared with care and imagination. Our waiter was the best! He would pace bringing out the next course while we finished enjoying the last of the first and second flights of wine. His wine recommendations were spot on. The white tablecloths and soft candles gave the surroundings a simple elegance. My date and I had a lovely glow from the wine, the service, and our leisurely conversation while we ate wonderful food. Thank you. We will be back.
Consistently excellent food and service. Diverse menu.
Overall the service is good most times we eat there, however this time was exceptional. And I don't mean it in a good way. We arrived on time for our reservation, as we were celebrating a Birthday. We were greeted by the hostess and seated at our table without any recognition of the Birthday. This wouldn't be the first time that it was overlooked (including other restaurants), so we let it go. However, our server did not come to the table for approximately 15 minutes. When he approached our table, he asked us if we wanted something to drink. He never introduced himself nor did we even know he was our server. I asked him if he was our server and he says "yes, I am" and I told him "oh, I never thought you would arrive to our table." His immediate response,"we've been very busy and things are now starting to slow down". Really?! Totally unprofessional, irrelevant, and this restaurant only seats maybe 50-60 people! Don't quote me on that, however it's a very small restaurant. We mentioned a Birthday celebration and asked questions regarding the menu items and the server seemed to be very knowledgeable when it came to that. However, throughout the evening and when we received our bill, we never heard a single Happy Birthday from the server! I found that very odd since we had mentioned it in our conversation with him. As a matter of fact, he did not even offer a Birthday dessert. Service was just ok (I only say that because he was knowledgeableof the menu) but the food is usually very good (thankfully that's what brings us back). If you can overlook the service and pricey menu, than I highly recommended Logan. The unfortunate thing is we notice a high turnover of servers at this restaurant from our own experience of going there for the last 5 years! It's definitely expected in this type of industry and we understand. Let's hope our next visit will be better!
We went for my husband’s 50th birthday dinner and had the 5 course tasting menu and wine flight. The food and wine were perfect from start to finish, and the service was incredible as well. Thank you, Logan, for a beautiful dining experience.
Dinner dragged. Somm was unnecessarily stressed. Refused to answer a simple question. Must be hard to pour wine for 35 people.
The New Year's Eve menu was very good. The wine flight was amazing. Great atmosphere, great people. Very enjoyable.
Waited an hour for a one drink. Waited over 3 hours for the meal to be completed. Clearly not prepared for nye.
Our second New Years celebration at Logan. We were afraid it wouldn't live up to our first experience and we were thrilled that it surpassed it! The food is imaginative but accessible - incredible combinations of flavors and textures. Wine pairings were sublime. Service attentive and unobtrusive. Best restaurant in Ann Arbor.
The food is incredible, the drinks delicious, and Raleigh on bar (and who has designed many of the cocktails) is a delight. This is our new go-to place.
Creative food, very attentive staff, and Kevin is very knowledgeable about wine.
Food was ridiculous priced for the quality!! I ordered the short ribs that appeared to be a 4 oz piece of pot roast for 38 $ my son had a tomahawk pork chop it was the size of a lamb chop!! Salad came with no zero dressing on it!!! 165$ bill
Logan continues to hone their craft after 14 years. The duck fritter appetizer, salmon and shrimp pasta dinners were outstanding. Best prepared piece of salmon I have had in a while. Great champagne options. The staff are all friendly, cordial. Timing is great. Always good to see Kevin and get his wine recommendations. We have always liked Logan and it continues to improve.
excellent food and service as usual, highly recommend a trip
Delicious dinner, and such a lovely experience with the staff!
Logan’s is one of Ann Arbor’s best upscale restaurants good for special occasions. Very nice menu and excellent food and wine
Normally we enjoy our visits to Logan’s very much. Our visit last Saturday was disappointing. Service was extremely slow. It was noisy and restaurant was cold. Won’t go back for awhile.
Excellent food and service!
Excellent service and food. Enjoyed a wonderful evening.
I called a day in advance to say I was flying in from out of town for a birthday and we wanted to do the chefs tasting, but we had one person allergic to shellfish and tree nuts, however the rest of us wanted the tasting with no restrictions. Then first thing I say at the table to our waiter is verbatim the same thing. Then to the sommelier I asked if we could have a digestif after the meal. Guess what? I was served shellfish and nut restriction tasting. Also they don’t really know food, scallops are not a shellfish yet I had to pay $15 to get the correct tasting that was shown to us for scallops. Then guess what? The sommelier serves us Port instead of the digestive I asked for. Best $500 I’ve ever spent.
Everything was fabulous. I love that they update the menu but still keep a few things the same.
One of my favorite restaurants in Ann Arbor, always try to eat here when I'm in town! Food is excellent!
Great as always! Nice food and well priced wine list. Logan is our go for fine dining in Ann Arbor.
Perfect delicious food from beginning to end! Excellent service!
It's still a good spot, though perhaps becoming a bit complacent. Service is uneven -- on two recent visits had an extraordinarily able server the first time and on second one who seemed more than a bit befuddled. Food remains very good (though superlatives not justified) and atmosphere is among the very best in Ann Arbor.
Had a 30 minute wait despite reservation; service initially slow...but then it was straightened out. The food was delicious - option to order petite portions. Recommend
One of the best in Ann Arbor. The menu is always updated based on what is seasonally available.
The food was very good. You don’t get a lot of food, but you are probably not going to this restaurant to fill up, but to enjoy the flavors. The service was attentive and knowledgeable.
We enjoyed another great dinner at Logan's. Our server Spencer was great and attentive, especially given how busy the place was for an early (6:15pm) Tuesday night.
I took my mother out for a little mother daughter nice dinner bonding time, and I was definitely not disappointed. This was our first time at Logan, but will not be our last. The manager provided my mother with a glass of wine that was not on the menu that was perfect for her. Our starter, entrees, and deserts were creative, just a little different than fare you would find elsewhere and very delicious! The service was amazing and we felt very taken care of, but not stalked or harassed in any way. The restaurant was just the right noise level: It was not hard to hear each other, but it wasn't library quiet either. We will be back in the future.
Very nice people, good food, great atmosphere.
Amazing food, superb service. Our best restaurant experience this year. The menu offers great variety and is innovative. We will definitely return.
