What Insiders Are Saying
An Infatuation favorite, Locanda Verde is a very good restaurant, and it is so because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Excellent food and service and quieter than for past visits.
Cozy place .. nice ambiance.. great for meeting with friends .. had a beetroot salad which was good..
I love this restaurant but they are never on time with reservations ... this was the first time we were seated on time which made for a much more enjoyable experience!
Food was delicious, and we had great service for a large group dinner. They accommodated our group size changing with ease, which is not always the case with restaurants in NYC. Would recommend the ricotta appertizer, scallops and grandmother's ravioli
Ohh it was pretty good :)
Nice server. Not a very good pasta.
Never had a bad meal here.
I don’t know how this restaurant could be so famous, the food is bland : we had an appetizer ( terrible) and the spaghetti with seafood which had no taste...we also spent a lot of money.
I will never ever go back
Came here for my birthday with friends, and we love every single bit of it. I’ve been to this restaurant before for a work event few years ago and now that i live in New York. I wanted to have my own personal experience. The food was excellent, the service was great, even the host was lovely as well. My friends loved their dishes and the cocktails. I will for sure be back since i only live 10min away down in soho.
Great service, but the food wasn’t too impressive
Birthday lunch following a massage at Shibui.
Best Bolognese ever! The meal was perfect! Loved the atmosphere and will definitely check into staying at the Greenwich Hotel next time we visit NYC! The only thing that was odd was the price tag of the cocktail in the Greenwich Hotel $21 apiece is a bit stiff and the experience did not match the price. Otherwise the experience was a perfect 10!
Never lets us down. another lovely visit - perfect way to spend a Sunday morning in NY...
Dinner was above par, but service seemed to have deteriorated over the past few months. Prices also moved up. I will continue to value the spot for its excellent ambiance and nostalgic value for me.
I have eaten here often for business lunches as well as for dinner and brunch with friends and family. The food is always superb, amicable and attentive service and a comfortable atmosphere.
Perfect for a quiet Saturday breakfast - service is always professional and timely while food is high-quality and delicious.
The garlic chicken was over the top garlicky
Very average food and SLOW service.
The ambiance and food was spectacular and the service was great. The lighting was dim and very comfortable.
Seating-- seats themselves are NOT comfortable. Cheap (well maybe not in Tribeca) metal chairs. The bench (for your dining partner) is just fine. It's almost like tight shoes-- no matter how good they look it's not a good experience.
OK-- the food. My duck was fantastic. Shared a pasta as an appetizer-- also very good. My partner's pork chop was fatty / less than good. We brought a special wine from the cellar at $35 corkage-- good deal compared to high prices on wine list. Dessert was excellent.
Service was OK-- waiter never asked how the mains were (the one time we probably wanted to vent about the chop).
Really like the atmosphere-- it's a neighborhood gem in that sense. Nice crowd. Very considerate folks who, in close quarters, keep charmingly to themselves and were not loud! What a relief. Mix of business folks and City folk. A $25 glass of vin santo with the dessert helped to get our final out the door bill to about $270. Not cheap when you bring your own wine.
So what would I do a "next time"-- eat at the bar and be a bit more careful.
Our server Antonio was superb. We had a delicious NYE brunch. This place is consistently good.
The food was incredible and the restaurant is so lovely with a great vibe!!
My birthday. Service awesome. I had ravioli which was nice but a very small portion in comparison to my husbands pasta which was way too salty.
I have had breakfast or lunch at Locanda Verde a couple of times a year for a number of years. The last time was April of 2018 and the experience was a solid 4 stars.
This time was very different; as something has changed, for the worst.
The service was terrible and barely existent. The food was mediocre, at best. The egg dishes were not at all like they used to be. In addition, I ordered (what was) my favorite - the lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes- and was very disappointed. Instead of the light and fluffy ricotta blueberry pancakes, they were heavy and about average. This was not worthy of a $50/person breakfast.
What a shame!
El lugar hermoso, la comidas muy rica y la atención de todo el personal muy bueno
Gorgeous restaurant. Good menu- food was decent. Coffee was amazing! Loved our time here.
I used to love this place, the food just wasn't as good as it used to be. Service was pretty good.
Wonderful evening. Thanks to our server Gunner
After years in operation, LV is still a place to be & be seen. The restaurant does need to update its menu however. The same things have been on the menu year after year, and a change would be welcomed
Portion a little small
Food was outstanding!
Enjoyed everything about our meal! Our waitress Jackie was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Appetizers, meal and dessert were all fantastic!
it was absolutely freezing inside the restaurant. we asked the server three times if we could relocate away from the draft and were ignored all three times. Everyone sitting around us was wearing their jackets and scarves to eat dinner so I am not overreacting with my issue with the restaurant.
We tried the spaghetti and was delicious! service was very good.
Not traditional Italian food but very good. The few amount of wine, considering the price. Beautiful atmosphere!
Went for brunch as I hadn't been in over 5 years. The sheep's milk ricotta was still fantastic but the toast seemed a bit stale and wasn't warm. Also had the baked eggs which were good but needed salt and the spinach was a bit "wet" like it wasn't drained enough. The toast was warm and crispier this time so I know the sheep's milk ricotta toast could do better. Overall id still come back as that ricotta is insanely good.
We had really good time!!!! Everything was awesome
