Really lovely Italian food in Tribeca
It was great!
I have wanted to eat here for a long time having heard about it from many friends and business associates. So, we finally make the advance plans necessary to get a reservation for a Saturday night. The service was impecable, definitely a cut above even other good comparable restaurants. The vibe was upbeat, lively, but not too noisy and the tables were set far enough apart to allow for conversation and some "space". I am a vegetarian, so I wish there were more choices (entrees) but other than that issue, the meal was superb. I had a beet salad to start and a filled pasta with spring peas. My husband had the ricotta with crostina which was excellent and then the pork chop which he said was soooo good. We shared a pear tart with cinnamon giner gelato for dessert (this was the only dish which I thought was a bit over priced, though it was delicious). Overall a great meal and a place I would definitely return to again.
My dinner started off on the wrong foot - when the hostess tried to seat us at a table in what appeared to be the bar area... as if my friend and I just walked in off the street (and did not make a reservation over a week in advance)! We had to ASK her to be seated in the normal dining area which was still fairly empty. Everything else about the dinner was fine/standard but unexceptional... Maybe it would have been better if the initial hostess/seating experience was better, but that really ruined the dinner for me. (My friend and I were dressed well, and did not look like tourists or anything that might inspire a snooty or misinformed hostess to try to seat us at an undesirable table when there were plenty of better tables available.) Disappointing!
Food could have been better. Bread on sandwiches are overwhelming. You can’t taste the rest of it!
Delicious food and Christian was a great server!
Our server Daniel was attentive but not too attentive so we can have a business conversation. Great service and the food was fantastic. It is a little loud, would not recommend for a first date.
Great meal. Great service. It was expensive but I felt it was worth it.
Love this place. Everything is superb. One of the best restaurants in NYC.
This restaurant is magical, the food is excellent, service impeccable and the room is quite so it’s possible to enjoy conversation as one enjoys fabulous food. It is what an excellent dining establishment should be. Can not wait till I go there again.
food was mediocre and service was poor.
my pasta was barely al dente, with some parts more on the raw and hard side due to the shape. perhaps their only salvation was the ricotta cheese. brussels sprouts were too salty as well.
passed by half a dozen wait staff leaving the restaurant and they just stare at you and don't say goodbye or thank you.
I made a reservation at Locanda Verde because it was consistently reviewed as one of the best upscale Italian restaurants in the city. However, I was upset with our service because it felt rushed and our server never told us or offered to tell us their specials. I ordered the Ragu based on our servers suggestion, and while it was good, it was nothing mind blowing and in my opinion not worth the price. I was most upset to learn that the special pasta was ricotta filled gnocchi which I would have ordered over all else had I known. My date got the pork which was delicious, well cooked, and had a lot of good flavors. The tiramisu dessert was also phenomenal. However, overall, I probably won’t return based on the price tag.
Second time we visited and food experience wasn’t at the same level. Tried the Grandmas Ravioli again and it wasn’t great (came in a bit cold too!)
i realize that locanda verde has been around for awhile, but i expected a little less pretension and a little more hospitality. no one wished my fiancé a happy birthday although it was explicitly on the reservation and i made sure to notify our server about it. we didn’t expect anything, but a simple acknowledgement would have been nice. i felt a little rushed and crowded overall. solid menu, however, but that’s a given.
A perfect Friday night date night spot! Food was delightful from start to finish. Highly recommend.
All good but massively over priced. $120 for lunch for 2 w no drinks is kinda stupid really.
Longing to visit this restaurant for sometime... it was fine but definitely not the great foodie experience I was anticipating...
We have dined here on three occasions and the food never disappoints. For a special event or occasion you cannot go wrong dining here.
The service was amazing and recommendations on point. Really enjoyed the blue crab crostini and paccheri pasta. Also, the bread has cheese and onions baked into a top crust that really start the meal off right.
Fuimos por un brunch en el dia de Pascuas, todo estuvo muy bien
Went here for brunch with a friend and it did not disappoint; delicious food and excellent service! Would definitely recommend!
Another family trip to NY
We went for my husbands birthday dinner and the food was phenomenal! Would definitely go back. The cosmo I had was one of the best I have ever had. We were late to our dinner and they still were accommodating.
renowned place and love the ambiance, but after a decent pasta (not spectacular), we had 4 underwhelming entrees, in fact the chicken was worse than that, dry and bland. With 2 bottles of wine, we spent $500 for 4 people and all walked away disappointed.
Excellent all round. Food was outstanding and the service was perfect.
Amazing. Loved the food and ambiance. Would 100% recommend!!
Food was very good. Service was top notch. Noise level was quite low considering the space and number of diners.
Just so so across the board, from service to drinks to food. Had a terrible table but that’s our fault for not asking to be moved. With so many options in the city, we will not be returning
Locanda verde is a very good restaurant. The dishes on the menu are excellent.
Last meal while visiting nyc with parents, we couldnt choose better place. It was ny second time there and it is still one of my favorite placês in the world. Delicious delicate pasta, cozy environment and great service. Papardelli with lamb bolognese was unforgetable.
The food and service are excellent. If you are going for brunch, you must get the pastry board. It's delicious and shareable. The pastas are amazing. Oh, and those blueberry lemon ricotta pancakes should be outlawed, as they are so darn good!
Wonderful evening!
Muy bueno. Muy rica comida y atención rápida. Para mi gusto las mesas un poco apretadas y pequeñas pero salvo eso todo muy bien! Lo recomiendo
Food was amazing! We really enjoyed our dinner and I highly recommend it to anyone.
Great food! Great wine!!!
Remarkable selection of brunch dishes and a lovely staff. When I mentioned in passing that my husband's birthday was a day before, the waiter remembered and brought a lovely sorbet with a candle with it at the end of our meal. Elegant, sophisticated, classy but not pretensions. Highly recommend.
Great food!
My date was hungover the next day for soul cycle
I have been a fan of Locanda Verde and the Greenwich Hotel for years. The service continues to be solid and food exceptional!
