Server had very limited knowledge of the menu and food preparation. Described the duck breast as “raw” and not like “Asian duck”. Very attentive servers for water and busing of dishes. Food was ok. We expected more complex flavors for the reputation and the price. The place is bustling which makes it difficult for conversation.
Fantastic authentic food and great service!
Amazing in every way. Top 5 meals of my life! The dessert with cherry sorbet and spiced dark chocolate gelato was to die for.
Great brunch, attentive service
Excellent at all points! Food and Service fantastic!
We came for brunch, so maybe dinner service is better. From the unfriendly hostess to a server that seemed way out of his element, it was a very uninspired showing.
Loved every dish. Was truly delicious. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to return x x
Terrible experience. Waiter was extremely apathetic, not sure why he is in the food industry. One order came out. One order didn’t. No explanation. My wife ate her meal and I asked mine to be cancelled so we could leave. Manager came to apologize. Offered dessert (I hadn’t eaten) but we accepted the offer anyway since he was being kind. Guess what? Ten minutes later and no dessert appeared. We paid for my wife’s meal and left. Amateur hour at a professional establishment.
Overall a great experience! Food was very good, atmosphere was excellent. We felt rushed by the staff to dine and dash, but otherwise was a good place to eat.
AmaZing supper! Loved the atmosphere and great drinks. While the bartender wasn’t the friendliest, Chris (manager?) was amazing and provided feee drinks when we had to wait. Food was amazing and server was awesome!
Everything from the food to the service was exceptional! My wife and I were recommended this restaurant from a friend and they did not disappoint. It was our 2 year anniversary and they were all over it, wishing us a happy anniversary when we came in and when we left. The atmosphere here was amazing also. Definitely coming back every time we are in NYC.
Service felt rushed
Great food, great service but a bit pricey. Good for a Monday date
I've been to the restaurant several times and have had sensational meals and an exceptional time.
Food was excellent Portions are small. No Beef dish on the menu.
Went for brunch. Waiter was very nice. Other waitstaff didn’t bring gluten free toast as requested. The chocolate waffle and blueberry scones were good. Don’t get the Scampi and grits combo. Runny eggs lukewarm, shrimp was fishy tasting, and grits on the bottom were not good. The tomato sauce looked to have ground meat in it. Gross. The bloody Mary’s had a skewer with a chunk of head cheese on it. Not appetizing. In general food for brunch mediocre. Lovely place with cool vibe just nothing special and disappointed, very disappointed with my entree.
I have wanted to go to Locanda Verde for years. My food was above average but nothing was memorable. It was also inconsistent as my son and I ordered the same pasta dish and his had lots of meat and herbs and mine had almost none. The service was ok. I probably wouldn’t go back because there are just too many other options.
It was our 20th wedding anniversary. I have been to this restaurant before and it was fantastic. This time...not so much. Nothing was wrong...but nothing was special.
Back after a year and right away I noticed that the level of food quality just has gone down. Which I was sorry to experience ! Hope it will be better next time !
Restaurant got loud as evening went on. Our table was wobbly and guy had to come and fix it. My codfish was good but slightly over cooked. It was on the pricy side. But overall it was a good experience.
The only reason we did not give 5 stars to “ambience” was the noise level, but the service and food excellent! Very happy we went there
Very hip spot in Tribeca...if you wish to sit at the bar for dinner, go directly to the bar and ask the bartender. They reserve seats sepearte from the main hostess. Fun place to eat with great food.
A total chaos in seating us at our table. We had to wait for 1/2 hr and wait outside. The hostess at the reception was not friendly at all. The food was mediocre and expensive. Not worth the waiting for. A bit very pleasant experience at all.
30min delay in freeing up our table.
Dining at Locanda Verde is a special experience. The wait staff and sommelier are extremely knowledgeable and helpful; the dishes are fresh, nuanced takes on familiar fare. Examples: pasta w/ a delicate white veal bolognese sauce, & hand-cut tagliatelle w/ a light corn and chanterelle mushroom sauce. The noise level is high, as are the prices, but for a special occasion, it’s lovely.
Terrific evening, first visit and can’t to visit again when our travels bring us back to NYC.
We enjoyed the food but very very loud table near us made it a little less enjoyable.
Fabulous meal. Outstanding service
Fine if you are just looking for a neighborhood lively hot spot, but not worth going out of your way for.... service was not great and food was ok...
Had a delicious dinner and a wonderful experience! Our server was delightful As was the sommelier.
Very great atmosphere but I felt food is pricey, oversalted, and small amount. The waitress of our table was somewhat inattentive and unfriendly. I did not want to be there long.
Good experience slightly marred by pushy servers trying to quickly turn tables. Some may call it attentiveness - I found it annoying
The food is excellent. They are a well-oiled machine, and as a result, it can feel more like a restaurant factory than an intimate experience.
The staff checks on you so frequently that it’s evident they’re trying to turn tables as quickly as they can. It makes for a rushed feeling dinner. The food comes out instantly. They also play extremely loud, bass-heavy music.
I’m the future, I’d go to sit at the bar and have a few bites. Locanda is not appealing as a sit-down.
Food was great as usual but service was a little spotty: we waited quite a while for our meal, the waiter poured sparkling water into one of my client’s glass of tap:still water, another staff started clearing the appetizer before asking if we were done with it.
Had the best waiter! Very attentive and sweet guy. Food is pricey but delicious.
Always great service! Love Locanda we are regulars
I was horribly disappointed by my Saturday lunch at Locanda Verde. Locanda Verde has been a regular "go to" for years, and I have never been disappointed. Is it under new management or ownership, because the food and service were subpar? My older sister drove over two hours from her home in Woodstock to join us, and I was embarrassed by the lassez faire service and the amateurish and boring food.
Our poor experience started at the bar, where my Pimm's Cup took over 15 minutes to make. This is not a complicated cocktail. The bartenders never maintained eye contact or explained the delay. It was uncomfortable and disquieting.
We moved to a table once my sister arrived, and the server was rushed, impersonal, and flippant. Food arrived and every dish, including our Bolognese pasta, was chain restaurant weak, created with no skill or creativity. I must surmise there was a change at Locanda Verde and now there is no expectation of quality. Sadly, another one of my favorite NYC restaurants bites the dust. Nothing lasts forever,
We were greeted cordially enough when we arrived but the waitress assigned to our table looked as if our being there was a huge inconvenience. Not once during our visit did she look anything other than surly. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his meal (8-hour tripe) but I felt that the hazelnut crusted French toast was short on hazelnuts and the citrus that was supposed to accompany it was likewise rather scant. I felt that it was overpriced and disappointing.
not as expected
