Great food and evening and great service ! Didn't have unsweetened ice tea ! It's simple to include!!!!
Our server went above and beyond. Taylor helped us with finding the sauce we wanted for the gnocchi and provided great service!
Service was good. The only glitch was that I ordered the NY strip, medium. The waiter told me that unfortunately it go dropped on the floor so they had to redo it. The rest of my party had their meals and I told them not to wait. The waiter was very nice and apologized over and over. He brought me a veal dinner but unfortunately I don't eat veal. I think they rushed the steak because it wasn't medium it was medium rare (emphasis on rare). Accidents happen and the food was very good.
Very expensive for a neighborhood restaurant but the menu and ambience are good. The lentil soup (vegan) is really delicious. They need to add some non-dairy, fruit-based desserts even if they aren't Italian.
We are moving and wanted our neighbors to try this one out.
The gnocchi with braised short rib sauce was very good.
My friend had the 3-meats plate and said it was terrific, done just right.
Nice wine list.
I didn't like the large number of small tables for 2 all lined up against one wall and too close together, although they did place diners at every other table until it got crowded.
YUMMY! We love this restaurant. The food and service are always wonderful.
Great food. Excellent service.
The food was good but way over priced. I had lasagna, which tasted good but was different from any I have had before and I have had a lot of lasagna. I think it was around $19 and not a very large portion. They spread a little sauce on the plate and set an un-sauced piece of lasagna on top. Very dry, I had to ask for a little cup of sauce to put on top. The lasagna was mostly macaroni and crumbled meat. The ricotta was not noticeable. There were 4 of us and everyone enjoyed their meal, just a bit overpriced. It was Sat. night and the place was dead, we got there around 7:45. When we left around 10, there was just 2 other people in the place. Again, this is Sat. night. Like I said the food tasted good but at their prices for what you get I would not go back.
We enjoyed dinner with friends. The restaurant was busy but it was easy to have a conversation. The cocktails, food (sea bass special and pasta dishes) and service was excellent. This was our first time dining here and we will be back.
A nice tasty meal per usual as we are frequent diners. Love to come here!
We went for Valentine’s Day. The food was good. It very dark and hard to see, but this restraint is consistent good and a neighborhood gem.
Simply amazing Italian food done right. This is the best Italian restaurant in Denver by far.
VERY disappointed! Always been a favorite. Ordered double cut pork chop and was served single cut with gravy! Bad wine too. Was told chef is using new distributer. I suggested he changes back or change menu. Manager said they'd gotten a lot of complaints. Ummm. What to do? Will try once more and hope they got the message.
We take our family here when they visit, we love it. Staff has good knowledge of wine and very professional. Food is always really good, our vegetarians are happy there. Great experience. The gelato is amazing.
My husband and I like to go to Locanda Del Borgo and we always have a great meal and usually we meet someone that we know.
Excellent experience. Food and service wonderful. Looking forward to returning and trying other things on the menu.
Locando is a favorite for a quick bite before an evening event.
Good food! Great service. Nice ambiance. Will return.
Always so good and just a real great neighborhood place to go. We will be back again and again!
Classic Italian in a lovely neighborhood seeing. Good, small wine list. Always terrific specials.
A hidden jem right in our neighborhood...didn't even know was here. Open fire grill...need I say more. Everything here in made here...a must try...you will return. Ask to sit in Taylor's section...she is one of the best servers we've had in some time.
Our first time there. Wait staff was friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the food or drinks. Had to make several trips to find the answers to our questions. Felt the food was just par to similar restaurants and a bit overpriced for the portions. Also $4 for a luke warm cup of regular coffee with no offer of a refill is also overpriced.
Went to the restaurant, but it was closed for cleaning. No call indicating the closing. The manager suggested their sister restaurant, Cafe Mercato which was not far. It was delicious and had one if my favorite dishes from Sicily. Would definitely go back. Different menu from Locanda del Borgo but the same quality.
Actual, real, authentic (southern) Italian cuisine in CO! It does not get better than this. Had frito misto, lobster risotto (special) and cioppino. All the seafood was beautifully cooked. First time I’ve had cioppino and not been disappointed. Best Italian and seafood I’ve had in CO. You should go. (Dishes were a tad spicy.)
Disappoints yet again. We've been here 3 times as a family. It seems that there is always some part of the evening that doesn't work out . Tonight was the final straw. We were a table of 6. The food took well over an hour to arrive. 2 of our party had reasonably-sized portions, 2 people barely had any food on their plates. The prices are really high for the portion size. It's too bad because the sauces for pasta are good and the pizza is good. The server was just ok tonight, in the past it's been sketchy. In the end, after 3 visits, there is always some part of the evening that makes you feel less than satisfied when you leave . I've moved this restaurant off my list. Too many other consistently good Italian restaurants in town that I'd rather go to than to return to this place. PS we've been to their sister restaurant in Lowry. Even more expensive. Not planning to return there either.
Loved it, will definitely go back!
Ventilation problem, it was dangerously smoky in the restaurant, they should never have seated us. The fire department came we were sitting towards to back, he said did they tell you to go out to the patio? No they didn't - he said the CO2 was dangerously high. We stood out there for about 15 minutes, the server was going to give us a bill, our food was still on the table. The owner was in the restaurant, he never came out and addressed the patrons. We said we didn't think we should have to pay our bill, but we did tip the server.
After many, many great visits to Locanda I was disappointed Friday. I know 7:30 on a Friday is busy but our service was perfunctory and my dish (tagliatelle with shrimp) was very ho-hum and not hot. I had brought a friend and wanted to show her what a great neighborhood restaurant we have, and she said her dish was good.
3 out of 4 dishes were really solid. My wife's Red Snapper special was terrible. She should have sent it back.
Super rushed tonight. Very odd. We’ve been dining there since its inception but did not see one familiar face.
My wife and I are regulars. The food, wine, and service are good, and the noise level is not bad. The restaurant overall is dependable.
We love this restaurant. The food and service are always strong. Can't wait to go back.
Let's say ... I'll go back
The food was good, our server was terrible. He frequently left the building to smoke, which is where I found him upon leaving the restaurant. The other staff were terrific and tried to make up for our server's incompetence.
The total experience at Locanda del Borgo was excellent as usual. I have been a customer at the restaurant for about nine years now and the consistency is always something I can count on. The staff is friendly and the service great. You will not be disappointed ... 😀
Loud. Very loud. Had to yell across table. Beyond "energetic". Left hoarse!
Waitress kept bringing the wrong wine bottles and then tried to bring more expensive ones to the table claiming you were out of our selections...more than once....really?!
Upscale neighborhood place where we often see friends
Good food, nice wine list, easy place to dine
And homemade sorbets
