Been here countless times. Hands down our favorite restaurant on the planet. Had the tasting menu last night for the first time. Will DEFINITELY be doing that again! Every course was perfect, as were the wine pairings. So glad they were able to survive the pandemic! You won’t find a better meal in Dallas.
Went to Local to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday. Everything from start to finish was top notch and I hope people will continue to help small businesses and local establishments get back on their feet and thrive after the pandemic.
They have one of the best filets in town and the sea bass is mouthwatering delicious.
Anniversary dinner, perfection!! Was our 2nd time here. Thank you for a lovely dining experience, again.
Kinda stumbled across this restaurant but so glad I did! For our first visit we did not do the tasting menu but we will definitely do it our next visit! 7 courses all perfectly paired with wine…what could be better! Our waiter was incredibly as recommended excellent menu suggestions and a fantastic wine that we would not have chosen on our own. It’s so nice to have a knowledgeable server! The food was amazing… I can’t wait to go back for the tasting menu!
Everything about Local is top notch! It’s one of my favorite restaurants in DFW. So happy it managed to stay afloat despite the pandemic.
We go every year for our anniversary. Local never dissappoints. Tried the lobster cakes that ever had there before that was delish. Meaty, rich, and flavorful.
I can't stress enough how fantastic the food and service were. This is a proper hidden gem.
Amazing ambiance and tasting menu with wine pairings was very filling and well priced.
Absolutely amazing date, food was delicious and the wine pairings were spot on
Great food - well thought out dishes with attention to detail. A little short-staffed right now, but I have to say, the staff that were there were excellent - they didn't miss a beat. And again, everything we ordered was delicious. Really enjoyed our meal with friends - been too long since we had been to Local and will definitely not wait long to return.
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was great. I highly recommend going to Local.
Exquisite. An exceptional experience. We enjoyed the chefs tasting menu - seven courses of amazing flavors, textures, and surprising combinations - across 2.5 hours. The Chef was killing it. She was on fire. It was just an amazing experience. Highly recommend.
Absolutely one of the most tasteful and presented tasting menu in Dallas.
The food was excellent and I mean perfection. The only complaint was that I was hot in the restaurant... I mean, I was sweating! Please turn up the AC a notch or two. I can't wait to return here with my son who is a big foodie.
Great food and desserts were out of this world!
What a joke. Was sat at a table after the waiters fought in what section we were gone sit and then got no service. Got up and left after 30 minutes of just sitting there being ignored by all the staff. Restaurant was not busy.
Food is always wonderful and service excellent. Chef’s tasting menu is always a good bet
Got the chef’s tasting menu with wine. Three dishes were way over-salted. The tomato soup (which was compounded by the naturally salty grilled cheese), the short rib (which wasn’t this way the last time we were there), and the tenderloin which was almost inedible. Other dishes were really good, however. Wine selections were spot on.
Our server was amazing. However, the chef/owner came out and was talking to another couple and she was criticizing him despite only being being there for two months. I found that extremely unprofessional. He kept the food coming and was attentive, courteous, and pleasant to talk to. I honestly couldn’t see how the owner could have a problem with him.
We want to go again but hoping that the over-salting will be corrected by then. Especially at $120/person.
Local was outstanding - in every way! It’s now in our “go-to” rotation for date night. The food was exceptional. Our only complaint was we couldn’t eat more so, we’re going back soon!!!
The food was truly delicious. We had the tuna tartare, lobster cakes and steak for dinner. So yummy. My only recommendation would be an expanded wine list.
Excellent food. Very accommodating to our 2 gluten sensitive guests. Service was good.
Great place, food was good and overall experience was good.
Service was excellent. Nice vibe. Warm peaches & baby arugula salad was amazing. Sea bass was very good also.
everything about it was spectacular
Fantastic experience start to finish. There were four of us and we all had the chef’s tasting menu. Every bite was exceptional. My absolute favorite fine dining restaurant in Dallas. Highly recommend. (The music could’ve been a little lower though.)
It has been a while since we've been here, but luckily for us the food is still spectacular. The service was great.
We always enjoy our time at Local. We are glad it endures these many years. The food was delicious, a nice choice of drinks and don’t miss dessert.
My wife and I went for date night and were shocked we hadn’t heard of this magnificent place before now. We had the Chef’s Tasting, and it was phenomenal.
Was pretty nice! Odd that they don’t have liquor, and didn’t realize until we were about to order cocktails. My friend ordered the burger which was tasty and juicy! The “tater tots” were a bit odd. I got the sea bass and risotto. The fish fillet was a bit small but I enjoyed the meal!
Atmosphere, background music, food, staff … a must dining experience!
Wonderful food, service and wine!
Always enjoy Local! Halibut and Sea Bass entree’s were delicious
My wife and I go out to eat a lot. I still don’t remember how I heard about this place, but it should be on every Dallas residents list of places to try. If you don’t get out much be prepared for a bit of a surprise trying to find it. There’s a small parking lot next door that is manned by a dude in a truck who will move the cones to let you in. The door to the restaurant is not particularly obvious, but we managed to find it. Once inside we found it to be very chic, with several dining areas, and an upscale feel that belies the neighborhood. And when we told the host our name he welcomingly said something to the effect of “we’ve been waiting all day for you” :-)
We opted for the tasting menu and were glad we did, being able to sample a wide variety of dishes and proteins. Chef does a great job with all of it, but I thought the seafood proteins were particularly well executed and cooked to perfection.
Also, no fault of the restaurant, a patron at a nearby table took off his show and we were able to see his bare foot—my first time seeing that at an upscale place. I realize this is 2021 and decorum has gone out the window (along with respect and taking responsibility for one’s actions) but it is still not something that belongs in a fine dining establishment.
The food was very good and the service was very good. Went for my birthday so I was a little disappointed when they didn’t bring out a special dessert or anything. Otherwise, it was nice.
Chef has created an impeccable Menu. My new favorite Dallas restaurant. The chef’s tasting Menu is most definitely worth it
Chef's Tasting menu was outstanding!
Wonderful meal - the tasting menu was great and a fun way to try several menu items.
I highly recommend!
Local is an absolute gem. We didn't have time for the tasting menu, so we made our own little sampler. It was phenomenal. Our server was perfect and the food was some of the best I've had in Dallas. I'll be back for sure.
Wonderful flavor combinations. Inventive food but not showy or over-the-top. Fun dessert options. Calming but also cool/funky atmosphere with very downtempo/chill music. We appreciated that it felt more like visiting someone's home than having a meal at a finely-tuned restaurant machine. They were short-staffed on the night we dined, but the (only) waiter worked as hard as he could to keep everyone happy. They have a creative wine-based cocktail list (but keep in mind, no spirits). A very memorable experience for our last evening in Dallas (and we will be back!).
