We enjoyed every minute of it and felt very welcome.
Was a special night for us but the waitress was non attentive. Every other table in the room was offered complementary champagne to celebrate their restaurant’s birthday, except us. Everything else was fine, I guess. Just a negative experience.
We will definitely return Local! The food was excellent and the service knowledgeable and friendly. Great mixed drink and wine list.
We had tuna carpacio and the lobster cake for appetizers, followed by our entrees of Osso Bucco and Sea bass with risotto. Everything was exceptional.
The deserts are also not to be missed. Home made ice cream and fudge sauce is worth the trip by itself.
The food was terrific, service professional and ambiance great - first time there but it wont be the last time
Local is my absolute favorite restaurant in Dallas!
We both had the tasting menu, which was exceptional. Each of the 8 courses, and the amuse bouche were a spectacular blend of distinct intense flavors, enhanced by the well selected wine pairings. The waiter’s timing was perfect, and his descriptions of both the courses and the wines were precise and concise.
Tucked away on Elm street is this neon sign LOCAL. Very old Dallas hotel now whose lobby is a 5 star fine dining establishment. Wasn't even sure where the front door was but inside we were treated like royalty. Quiet, romantic, just a perfect place for he dinner we were looking for. Great food. Had crusted sea bass with creamy risotto. Lobster cake appetizer and they brought us each a complimentary champagne to celebrate their 15th year anniversary. Who would have ever know of this gem. Staff was perfect. Loved the entire experience. I can't wait to go back. So glad we found this place.
Great little spot in Deep Ellum with a friendly personable staff! The food was excellent from the amuse bouche to the entree. The lobster cake appetizer was phenomenal and the filet was cooked perfectly. Our waitress made great recommendations and was very attentive. Overall great experience.
Top 5 burger in Dallas! All around awesome experience...
Exquisite cuisine. Excellent wine list and cocktail menu. Warm, cozy and exceptionally professional, but genuinely friendly staff. Perfect lighting, music and decor making for a fantastic date night experience. One of my absolute favorite dining destinations in Dallas! @NommingAbout on Instagram.
Located in the historic Boyd Hotel, landmarked as the oldest standing hotel in Dallas, LOCAL is a fascinating venue with a warm ambiance, happy vibe and exquisite menu selections masterfully created by Chef/Owner, Tracy Miller. See Highlights on Instagram @NommingAbout
We chose this for a pre Music Hall event & we were over the top pleased with the atmosphere & the food. It was our 1st visit but for certain not our last!!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas. We’ve had the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing twice and it has been superb both times. Perfectly paired wines, great portions for a seven course meal, good timing, unique flavors. A wonderful relaxing night out for harried parents!
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Dallas!
We love this restaurant! It is consistently excellent service and food. It is one of the few restaurants in dalllas that you can hear one another. We will keep coming back!
Delicious special but terribly overpriced at $50. Wine per glass was atleast $15. The food is good but not as good as it should be for the prices. There is enough dining options in dallas to find better quality for a lower price.
Absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere was romantic and the service was spectacular. Wonderully prepared food with nuances. We were served an unexpected demitasse of black eyed pea soup. The steak on polenta was perfect. The wine list was not extensive but good. A little expesive but the trip was worth it.
Service was nice and the noise level was quiet. Nice change of pace from most Dallas restaurants where you can barely hear the person across the table. Menu was diverse. I ordered the sea bass and my wife ordered the osso bucco. My dish was way under seasoned...very bland. My wife’s osso bucco had nice flavor but was a tad dry....overall not bad. The wilted kale we ordered must have been hit with a salt bomb...way too salty. Drink prices are about $2-$3 overpriced. $8 for a beer and $16 for a glass of wine?? All in all we spent $180 (including tip) and I felt like I left with much to be desired. I could have spent less at one of Dallas’ numerous restaurants and been more satisfied from a value standpoint. BUT, this restaurant is quaint and nice. It means well and the menu items can accommodate most everyone in your party. Perhaps it was just an “off” night in the kitchen.
Slow service. Over seasoned over
Chefs tasting was very good but service was super slow.
The best meal I had in 2017 and I couldn't have been more ecstatic to partake on NYE. A wonderful end to my year! The 7-course tasting was a tremendous treat. It was my first time at Local but definitely not my last. I plan to frequent for special occasions and with out of town guests.
Fantastic tasting menu experience. Excellent wine pairings. Unobtrusive but attentive service.
Food was underwhelming unfortunately. Really nice staff but way overpriced for the quality of food
Local is one of my favorite Dallas restaurants. The food is creative and delicious without be so out there it is pretentious and incomprehensible. The restaurant design is subtle and beautiful. It's in a very cool, fun neighborhood, Deep Ellum, and unlike other restaurants in Dallas, you can actually hear a normal conversation.
Hands down best restaurant I’ve been to in dallas, i can’t wait to come back :)!
We tried the tasting and the food quality was less than average and service was pretty bad.
What were we thinking? After course 2 we started to send full plates back. Nobody ever checked on our food or cared to know what was the problem, considering this was a several course fancy $$ dinner, we expected better service, and of course FOOD! The salmon was sweet and overdone with absolute no crust, the TOUGH steak was overwhelmingly sweet, the braised short rib was also sweet and was stringy/stale, makes me think chef puts sugar on everything to make up for the lack of talent and quality!! The spice cake was super dry, old and extremely stale despite all the nice presentation. On a Saturday night, the restaurant was mostly empty and I know why now!
Went for dinner on a girls weekend. So wonderful.
Rather expensive for what we got. Wine pours were rather light.
