Staff was super sweet!!! Food was superbly amazing I highly recommend the green beans fried to crunchy perfection ❤️❤️❤️
Splurge and do the tasting menu with wine pairings.
Unfortunately, not what we expected. It was empty on a Friday night, which seemed odd to us for a highly reviewed restaurant. Overall, a very strange place and location. Please mention the free parking before your guests pay for parking behind the building.
I went there for date night with my husband and had the chef‘s tasting menu. It was amazing! Each course was better than the one before and was just melt-in-your mouth good. I also did the wine pairings and they were perfect. I don’t even like Chardonnay but it went amazingly with the scallops. We will absolutely be back and I highly recommend it!
Happy to see Local back and busy! Tough year but this is a special restaurant run with care.
The food here is always good and consistent. That said, the service still needs work, and this goes back to a time before the pandemic. With this price point, around 100$ per person before the gratuity, the servers make crazy money, so there’s no reason why people with experience wouldn’t want to work there. This time the regrettable noise level was due to the inevitable Friday night amateurs with no manors and a terrible fashion sense to match.
This was my 3rd time at the Local. I took friends here from out of town expecting to show them a great time.. I had the same waiter as the previous time and he was slow and didn't deliver. My husband ordered a WELL done steak.... that is not a hard thing to do and his steak came out as medium rare..... the other people at the table had the 7 course meal so the timing wasn't good for the steak at all... I was highly disappointed with the service and food.
What an amazing place! This was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday and I’m so happy to find a tasting menu like this in Dallas. The food was amazing, the wine pairings were fantastic, ambiance was relaxing and upscale and the service was excellent. Will definitely be going back!
We had the tasting menu and associated wines. It was fabulous. 7 courses and 7 wines. It took us about 2 hours to finish. Each dish was small enough so that at the end of the dinner you were full but not overwhelmed. It was our first visit post-COVID and we will definitely be back.
Had the tasting dinner with the wine pairings. The food was outstanding but the pacing of the meal was slow - we were there over 3 hours, so be prepared! Otherwise the service was excellent and we really enjoyed it.
Just found this place and couldn’t be more excited. Our group did the tasting menu and all of the items were a hit. Chef came out to say hello which we appreciated. They have their own parking lot and let us self park which is rare in Dallas but I love. Was not loud and was great for conversation. We were there for three hours but that is what we went for so if you are looking for the quick in and out this might not be the experience you are looking. If you are looking for a place with great food that you can spend sometime enjoying while having good conversation this is the place you are looking for.
I’ve walked passed this place a thousand times and never knew what it was. My lady and I were blown away by the food. The vibe was classy and chill. Our waiter was knowledgeable and took the time to tell us the history of the building. Bonnie & Clyde stayed at this historic landmark. I recommend it, 100%.
Interesting and delicious. We both tried the tasting menu and enjoyed it. If you're worried about walking away hungry, not a chance. We couldn't eat breakfast, the next morning!
Food was a little on the salty side, for several dishes.
Unique takes on several staple items.
Very romantic and quiet restaurant. Food and service were excellent!
Hard to find the right door to enter as there are 3 different front doors and the right one sticks and is hard to open....they'll tell you it is an old building, but I noticed other diners having the same issue once I was seated - fix the doors!
We had the Chef's 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings and it was perfect, all wonderful portions and all quite tasty - well done Chef.
Service was attentive and personal.
If you are looking for a hidden gem with high quality creative food this should be your spot!
I’ve been going to Local for years! The food, service and atmosphere has always been exceptional and consistent!
Laid back atmosphere with an excellent tasting menu and wine pairing at a very reasonable price.
The grilled cheese is a must-have. Yes, you read that correctly. Grilled cheese with tomato basil soup was one of the courses and it was fantastic!
If you’re a foodie and looking for a pretentious free dining experience, you’ll love Local.
This was hands down one of the best dinners my husband and I have ever had and it was right in our own backyard! We celebrated our anniversary here with the Chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing. The ambience, service, and most importantly food were all incredible. We will absolutely be back. The short rib is to die for and may be my favorite plate of food I’ve ever had. A wonderful experience!
Food was incredible!!!
Greatly enjoyed our dinner. Relaxing and enjoyable ambience. Delicious meal- all courses. Enjoyed drinks, service and food. A lovely special occasion kind of place for us. We had a party of 5 and was our first indoor dining experience since COVID started. Tables and parties were spread out safely, staff was masked. Felt safe and clean indoors. Will be back!
Outstanding food and wine- the chef's tasting menu was phenomenal! Highly recommend!
Not the world’s most inventive tasting menu. Our waiter was also stretched thin and made a few errors and our food didn’t come very quickly. Took 2 hours to get through 5 very small courses. I’ve done a few other tasting menus at other restaurants and the small portions are usually offset by great flavors but that wasn’t the case here.
We’ve been to Local several times over the years and have always done the tasting menu. It was always a very enjoyable experience. This time it was not. We were seated immediately upon arrival and brought water and warm nuts. Five minutes later our waiter stopped by to introduce himself and explain he was busy but would be by as soon as possible to take our entire order. We sat there for over 30 minutes without our drink or food order taken. 45 minutes after arriving we finally took a sip of wine. Long story short our tasting experience took 3 1/2 hours! I honestly wanted to refuse the last 3 courses because I was so full and just tired of sitting there. The pacing was horrible - Too long between courses and wine pairings arriving 15 min before the course it’s supposed to be served with. There is no excuse. As for the food, it was just ok. Nothing innovative or special. I’m not sure if the kitchen was the problem or the service or both. I doubt we will return.
A beautiful experience! Great tasting menu!
We loved the food and the service was attentive. The growing pains due to COVID reentry, from few patrons to busy was felt in the timing of their dishes. It was ultimately to our advantage - I’d love a longer, more luxurious experience, but it wasn’t speedy.
Everything was great, service, food and its great to be able to talk without yelling.
When you want really good food and be able to have a conversation without yelling, Local is the place to go!
Chef’s menu was incredible! Highly recommend.
This is our favorite Dallas restaurant. Don’t miss the tasting menu and the wine pairings.
Excellent food ambience everything! Thanks Tracy Miller.
Food was so salty couldn’t eat . Horrible steak- had to spit out . The tomatoe salad was good but that’s all.
We tried tasting menu with wine pairings. Food in general was extremely salty. The place was too laud that it was very hard to hear the description of the courses.
We enjoyed the tasting menu and select our wine. The range of small dishes made for wonderful meal. The owner/ chef visited our table at the end of the meal.
Lovely food and service
Everything was fantastic!
Just Superb! Feels like a hidden gem out in plain site. Incredible food, service, and experience. Highly, highly recommend.
Amazing food!!! Great service ! Already have another reservation to go back!
The food was great. It was however ruined by the service. We think our waiter was in training or new. He seemed to be nervous and forgot our drinks. Got the order wrong and just over all felt like he needed to be supervised. For the price I would expect the service quality to be higher.
