Local Wine & Kitchen
The service is really slow. It took 10minutes alone to be greeted and get water. The food was not worth the price and it was a weird layout. The Steak was very bland and had now flavor. The menu is also very small
Brought my boyfriend to Local (which is one of my favorite restaurants) for his first time. We ordered a wide array of things off the new menu, such as: cheese/charcuterie, clams, eggplant, pork, and steak. Overall the food was amazing. And we will definitely come back for the clams and steak. Both were cooked to perfection, and both sooooo yummy. Also, our server Sara was very friendly, personable, and helpful. She was the reason our time was so enjoyable! We will be back soon!
Love this place, but wish it could be a little quieter
Great place! Casual, intimate with small menu and modest portions but delicious. Definitely recommend!
Food was good, and our waitress was attentive. However, they don’t seem to make any effort to bring people’s food out at the same time. I got my appetizer way before anyone else. My husband’s appetizer came out about 5 or so minutes later. Finally, at least 5 minutes later, our friends got their soups. Same kind of thing with our entrees.
We tried both desserts on offer. The lavender-honey gelato tasted like eating chilled essential oil. Pretty disappointing. We will be unlikely to return.
The casual ambience of this restaurant belies the superb quality of the food. I ate dinner with a friend last week and we shared an appetizer (crab salad) and a pasta course (gnocchi) both of which were excellent. We also each enjoyed a delicious cocktail. The bill was very modest. So glad I discovered this Ardmore gem!
Great food and good value. Beautiful presentation. I can’t believe it took me so long to try this restaurant.
Cocktails were tasty as was the cheese and charcuterie plate. Our server Danielle was very nice as well. Very Nice place. We'll be sure to visit again when We're in Ardmore.
The menu was a little limited but the food we all ordered was overall good. They ran out of the special entree and our dinner reservation was not that late at 8:15. The waitress service wasn’t great. It took a while to get our drinks and she kept trying to take away the food before we were finished eating it which made me feel rushed and a bit annoyed. I thought the price was reaonable and the ambiance pleasant.
Love Danielle and Sarah!!! Bartender Ryan!! You guys rock ❤️❤️xoxo
New has a very nice cheese platter with wine. The mushroom gnocchi was delicious. Would recommend for a nice quiet evening with friends.
2/5 meals were under-cooked to the point of being inedible, the waitress spilled and broke a glass of red wine on two guests, cocktails were served in chipped glasswear, and the service was so-so to the point where we got up to ask other servers/employees for things that were forgotten. No accommodations or comp's were given for the red wine that ruined a sweater and a jacket, but we were told we could come back in with dry cleaning bills and that "there's a first time for everything" by way of apology.
Cute spot, but just not what we expected or were looking forward to!
Always great place. Food and service outstanding.
Gabby was our server and she was wonderful, and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommended!
It was a great time. The cheeses and meat choices are wonderfully chosen. The steak is a fantastic choice.
Great wine list, and wonderful food!
The food was good, but the menu was very limited. The cheese platter was good, but the cheeses were too cold.
My friend and I enjoyed our meal despite the low talking server who knew nothing about the drinks, the food or the dessert.
Local always delivers with delicious drinks and food! Ardmore is lucky to have such a gem in the neighborhood!
Warm ambiance, decor - dined early evening, bar snacks & charcuterie board - presentation a little unimaginative but food very good, attentive service somewhat slow, menu well-priced but different from what was on website that day which disappointed some of us, throwback playlist didn't fit atmosphere & was too loud for the time slot - not enough bodies to absorb the sound? Been before, will return.
Folded strip steak was almost inedible, loaded with fat and gristle. Soup was very good, shrimp/polenta dish was ok.
Excellent food and great cocktails! Nice atmosphere; knowledgeable wait staff. Overall great experience-we’ll be back!
Fantastic local spot to enjoy lovely food and drink. Interesting cocktails and extensive wine selection.
Perfect spot! Quiet enough for three of us to have meaningful conversation.
Shared delicious and beautiful hummus platter (cubed parsnips a wonderful addition, along w/gorgonzola dip and homemade potato chips)!
Also shared a two wonderful salads -a spinach salad with figs and pears and a beet salad AND a fabulous eggplant parm stack! Highly recommend this spot!
Fabulous carrot soup and risotto, interesting dishes and fantastic wine selection and specialty cocktails!
Dinner a few weeks ago was delicious. Ordered the same food and it was not
half as good. Was told there was a new chef last Saturday night.
Otherwise a pleasant place.
A small local treasure. Changing menu, great wine and cocktail list, inventive.
We have special dietary needs and the restaurant was able to modify to make everyone comfortable.
Good salmon and good gnocchi
This is a cozy spot to have some wine and catch up with a friend. Their wine list has some nice choices, though they were out of the Pinot on a Friday night (someone went out to get more so it was available after our first alternative glass). The Montepulciano was wonderful. The service was spotty with an initial 10-15 minute delay in even getting water. Our server was forgetful with the drink order and also the food order. She seemed distracted, though she was pleasant. Our party of 4 ordered 2 risotto dishes and 2 salmon dishes. The risotto was underwhelming in flavor, the salmon was tasty. The menu is diverse but heavy on rich dishes. If that’s what someone is looking for I could recommended this restaurant as “okay”.
Since it opened, Local's been a great place to go for a fun meal that's clever, tasty and well presented. The details are done right - even a simple charcuterie platter with 1 cheese and 2 meats is beautifully laid out with a dab of fig jam, a drizzle of honey, some pickled onion, etc. My rabbit pasta was very good, my wife really liked her shrimp & grits, and we had a very nice but modest Bordeaux that was very good with this meal (even if a wee bit overpriced).
Stopped in for cocktails and a light meal while in the area. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Service was on point.
Very nice place! Cheese/charcuterie board was excellent. Wines byt he glass were a little overpriced for the serving size, but overall a great experience.
Great food and service! We sat at a table in the back and could have a good conversation
Local accommodate my request for a quiet spot, which was great -- we were able to have great food and converse without having to yell over other people.
Great neighborhood spot. Cocktails excellent. Food delicious. Will be back.
Great ambiance. Nice happy hour options at the bar. Excellent menu with delicious, healthy, and unique flavor combinations. The chef takes traditional menu items and puts an interesting, more modern twist on the meal. Each item we ordered far exceeded our expectations in terms of flavor and taste. We loved our meat and cheese board - one of the best I have ever had! Additionally, the Folded Flat Iron steak entree was perfectly delicious and the Korean BBQ style Shrimp & Grits was a wonderfully surprising twist on the typical dish. Will definitely be going back soon.
Consistently a great experience!
My wife and I had a disappointing recent Friday night dinner at Local. The wine was fine, as was the cheese course, but both of our entrees were terrible. My wife described her porcini gnocchi as a bowl of tasteless mush balls. I had the fall vegetable risotto, which was also tasteless but at least wasn’t littered with mush balls. However, the rice rice was undercooked and half crunchy and the dish was entirely lacking in any sort of creaminess. We had to ask for salt & pepper, but neither dish was salvageable. The restaurant was at best 30% full when we ordered, so there was no obvious excuse for why the kitchen sent out such lackluster plates.
This was a great find. We will definitely be back. If you’re going to Ardmore music hall for a show, great spot for dinner beforehand
Needed to step out to have a nice Saturday night. This is the place to be. Nice wine. Amazing cheese plates. Good service. Easy, fun, and delicious.
