Local Bistro + Bar Ratings and Reviews
We had a 7:30 pm reservation and we were on time. We sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes then asked about our table. They forgot we had a reservation. We sat at a table that was open when we walked in at 7:30 pm. The waitress took a long time to take drink orders and even longer for food orders. The overall experience left us feeling that we were not important to the restaurant and I certainly do not recommend Local Bistro based on my experience.
Local Bistro has always been a favorite of ours. The food and service has been consistently
great. My only negative is that the noise level gets so loud that you can'y hear your companions
conversation. It has always been that way. As the noise level rises so does the conversations in order to converse. This will not stop me from returning however it is a negative to me.
We met some friends for a weeknight dinner. There’s music and a lively vibe in the bar area which is visible from the dining. We were seated right away as we did have reservations. We could hear music but we were also able to converse and enjoy our company. Nice options on the menu and the food was delicious. Service was prompt and they were very attentive with our needs.
Local Bistro is a wonderful place for couples or groups. Food and Service are always outstanding. Servers and Management are spot on attentive. Josh, our waiter is experienced and did a great job.
LB is our 'go to' place and we have brought many friends and family here.
Classy but casual, very nice atmosphere. I ate at the bar because I was running a bit late. The food was very upscale and I thought the menu had a lot of options. The service was great, and the food was excellant. I would recommend it, and will return the next time I'm in the area.
Overall very good. My only complaint is like so many chefs this one tends to over salt the entree. Next time I’ll ask for no added salt. Most experienced diners know that the most popular restaurants in the country serve entrees hot and salty. Few people complain with that combo.
I like this place and will return frequently
Don't let the name fool you. It is a local bistro that delivers a big result. This little gem has some of the best food, best service and best settings in all of Scottsdale. The menu is varied to accommodate any food preferences- gluten free check, vegetarian check, fantastic meats check, great wines check, indoor/outdoor seating check/ a superior bar/ and professional service. Really... don't miss this. The name is true... if you live close it will surely become your favorite local bistro but it is also well worth the drive. Do make reservation, and do give it a try, it will soon be your favorite, too.
We have been to this restaurant many times and after our last experience we won’t be back. Our waitress was one of the worst we have come across. She was very snippy and was put off when we asked for anything. The food was mediocre at best and did not come out as the menu stated.
We’ve been coming here for years. This year, for our Christmas Eve reservation, they required a credit card guarantee. Nothing angers me more in the restaurant world than this practice. Nonetheless, its our tradition, so I ponied up the credit card and we went. It was good, like usual, however they’ve removed some of the things on the menu that we used to love. I’m sure they been replaced by other delicious things, but I miss those things anyway. We got Bolognese pasta and seafood with squid ink linguine. Both were good. I wish the seafood linguine had more clams and calamari and less shrimp though.
This was my fourth visit to Local Bistro, and I've never been disappointed. Sometimes it can get a little loud at the bar, but this time the noise wasn't bad. Service by Timothy was just right, attentive but not hovering. I had the bouillabaisse, a Friday and Saturday night special. Outstanding! My husband praised his margarita--not too sweet--and liked his pizza. We visit regularly from out of town, and will always plan one dinner at Local Bistro in the future.
My first visit here was phenomenal. I had a wonderful dining experience and great service. The food was to die for and I couldn’t wait to come back. My second visit was not nearly as enjoyable and I left very disappointed. For starters, my waiter didn’t greet me for 10 minutes. When I did finally receive some attention, I ordered the butternut squash pancini for an appetizer. This is one of the BEST dishes I have ever had and I highly recommend it. For my main course, I ordered the same as my first visit (truffle risotto) because I had come back solely for it. Unfortunately, it tasted much different. I believe it was over cooked and came out mushy and at room temperature. I was dining alone and felt like my waiter didn’t want to spend as much energy on me as she did on the rest of her tables, although I spent upwards of $40..
Great food. I’m sure great service majority of the time. Overall, I’ll be dining again but am hesitant to rush back due to my most recent experience.
This restaurant is at the bare bones . My husband ordered a roast chicken , which this restaurant is well known for, the waiter came back from the kitchen telling my husband they were out of chicken, at 7:15pm . How does this happen, they had NO Chicken, even though they offered three different chicken dishes on the menu ?????. My husband then ordered a hamburger, with a slice of onion on the side, again the waiter approached the table, by this time a bit embarrassed to tell my husband the kitchen had absolutely NO Onion at all. How does this happen ????? My salad was suppose to have beets ad goat cheese , I found two small beet pieces and another three small blobs of goat cheese. 99% of the salad was arugula, with teeny tiny amounts of the goat cheese and beets.
This was not our first tim eat the restaurant, but it will most definitely be our last !!
Every restaurant has good nights and not-so-good ones. This was an epic failure and I am not sure I can get my friends to go back to give them another try. Everything was off but the service was especially bad. When they came to tell my friend she needed to drain her martini if she wanted her next one in a martini glass (because they had no more) we were incredulous. Despite relatively simple food choices only part of our order came as requested.
This is my go-to neighborhood place. It was deeply disappointing to have them let me down.
