Local Bistro + Bar
With its hand-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas, fresh-caught seafood, hand-selected steaks, and crisp salads, Local Bistro raises the bar when it comes to Italian cuisine.
The thoughtfully selected, yet casually priced wine list and the wide array of specialty cocktails complete the dining experience.
We had a great Sunday Brunch. The food was excellent, as was the ambiance. Our server was good, just a little slow, or distracted a good part of the time. Took him a couple of visits to get things we needed, but overall a very nice time. We sat on the edge of the dining room towards the patio, and is was a gorgeous morning. We will be back.
Excellent service! Appreciated our excellent service, attentive but not overly.
Our server was delightful and she handled our guests ranging from age 2-72 with efficiency and ease. The ribeye was done perfectly, the pastas were tasty, kids pizza order was wisely placed early and was a hit. The birthday celebrant was treated to a complimentary dessert - lemony and delicious. A nice touch.
Enjoyed our Server, Tiffany. Food was pretty good. It's been better but Local Bistro is still a favorite place in this area.
Good food and service. Would eat there again!!
Food good as always. Service missed the mark. Did not serve all diners at our table equally well, forgetting to get info, preferences or orders from some. Entrees brought to wrong diners at table. Couldn't just bring out a bowl of pomodora sauce as a side dish. Didn't clear table properly, or attempt to clear table. Had to get server or other staff attention in numerous occasions during the meal
Doors open to outside on a 58 degree night meant no place inside was warm.
We used to live nearby and frequented Local Bistro often. We left in 2013 but was pleased to see that the restaurant is still thriving. We came back into town for one night and made a point to go back for dinner, which was as excellent as we remembered. I had the scallops which was a good-sized portion because it came with risotto and rock shrimp. Delicious!
One of my favorite local places...
Good food...good value
We frequent this restaurant and unfortunately the evening we most recently had dinner there the service was very very very slow. The food was good, a tad salty.
Drunk bread was not up to our expectations based on previous experience. However the service was excellent and our server took the bread off the bill.
i had to send my food back, burger was raw. Server did not come out with the food to ask how it was prepared, other members of my party had eaten most of their meal before our server came to our table.
Brunch Sunday morning. Manager was obviously frustrated with his new hostess. We walked in with reservations. He was very very short with my girlfriend which already set a tone for our experience. Waiter wasn’t aware of the menu. Chicken in the chicken and waffle brunch was way way over done. My girlfriend came the week before based on my recommendation and had a great experience with her friends. This experience wasn’t close and we made it a quick brunch and out the door.
limited brunch menu with unlimited bloody Mary's & mimosas !!
Our server Pat was friendly and somewhat attentive.
The egg white veggie scrambler was watery and tasteless. The manager compt us the order
We love Local Bistro!!! The last few times we have been there, we have had an exceptionally pleasant waitress. I wish I knew her name. She is a little shorter with longer dark hair worn in a ponytail. Anyway, we are happy when she is our waitress; she deserves a little extra acknowledgement for her skills, so my husband makes sure to be generous with her tip!!!
The food is really delicious and comes out to our table pretty fast. I loved the trout and my husband loves their dry aged steaks. I also love the arugula gimlet.
We took some friends who were visiting from Nebraska to Local Bistro the last few times we have gone. They all loved the restaurant and the food!!!
A half hour to get our drinks order and then another 40mn for our food, while the two-top who came in well after us had finished their appetizers before we even got our meal. Mistake on the wine list of wines by the glass that aren’t offered. Oversalted fish, despite being fresh and well prepared. Lackluster service all around.
Good service and food, but noisy.
By far our favorite neighborhood spot. Food is always consistent. Staff is friendly and professional. Great wine list, great brunch, music on Sunday. Love it!
Local Bistro is a cool little spot to have some dinner or just to grab some drinks.
It just doesn't get better then LOCAL BISTRO. The food, service, friendliness, atmosphere all add up to this be the 31 restaurant in the valley
We go there every time we’re down to Scottsdale, never disappointed
It does not matter how tasty the food is..when the service is as unattentive, scattered and ill timed as it is at this restaurant you should skip it. There are enough good restaurants in Scottsdale that can manage it all.
Excellent food. Great service
Hate to write this review but Local changed sauce used on their chicken parmigiana and on margherita pizza. Not good at all, has seeds, other ingredients that don’t belong, and totally changed two perfect dishes on how they tasted, that we always enjoyed. Lunch sandwiches still very good, that’s why I rated a three stars, otherwise it’s a two star review for food. We will not be returning anytime soon, unless the sauce returns to what it used to be on our go to meals.
Delicious food, varied menu, presented in a lovely, sophisticated room served by attentive, well-informed waitstaff. A favorite!
Local Bistro is high on our list of favorite restaurants in Scottsdale
Tonight for some unknown reason..... we waited one hour for our meal to be served
After alerting the manager our meal arrived and was delicious
We were comforted with a gift of a yummee dessert
Alls well that ends well
Visited for my birthday with another couple. We had a great time. My Chicken & Artichokes was amazing. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My husband is gluten-free and he had lots of options.
Great food but even with a reservation we had to wait while there were many open tables on the dining room floor. The server poured our wine and maybe I"m choosy but some folks drink fast and some drink slow and the bottle was not distributed between the 4 us fairly. Once we ordered the wait for our meals was very long. The manager came by the table and mumbled some irrelevant excuses. We were kind but obviously disappointed . Our dinners were finished and they brought us a small snifter of wine to split between the ladies, what about the guys?? Last but not least they brought out a swallow of whiskey for the guys. Thanks I guess but really too late to compensate for an overall poor experience. Probably won't go back...
Always enjoy the atmosphere and food. Best steaks ever. Seafood prepared perfectly.
Love Local Bistro. Service is excellent and everything on the menu is delicious. On this visit I tried the Bouliabase (not spelled correctly) that is only available on Fri and Sat and it was out of this world. Of course there’s the drunk bread...a must have.
Fabulous service, lovely wine and delicious pastas
I have always enjoyed this place, but at my last visit, it was so noisy that I almost lost my voice by the end of the evening. I guess this is the new way to create ambiance, but as a designer, I would recommend carpeting and/or insulation in the ceiling. The food is good, but I probably would not return.
We love brunch at Local Bistro! Best brunch in Scottsdale! Full of flavor and the service is great.
Unlimited mimosas makes for a beautiful weekend afternoon. Repeat again and again.
Best dining experience I've had there and I've eaten there a lot.
Acoustics were tough but food and service were amazing.
We were there for lunch so the noise level was not as bad as dinner. However, where can one go for dinner anymore and actually hear what your dining partners are saying, anyway!!?? As for the 4 stars, we found there was a surcharge on our bill and when questioned we were told it was because "the prices had increased in January of this year and it was cheaper to add an incase/surcharge to the tab than to reprint the menu." What? Seriously? This is an upscale area of Scottsdale. One would be shocked to see a surcharge for water never mind for saving reprinting costs. The restaurant is a lively place in the evening, especially at the bar.
We were celebrating a birthday. Our experience was excellent. Good service and food. Friendly and efficient staff. Could not ask for more.
I had wonderful mussels!!! Some of the best I have ever had Good service but the noise level took it down from a great experience to overall very good If weather permits and you can get a reservation out on the patio as it is much much quieter
Nice atmosphere, food is outstanding (been there 3 times now)
Poor service. Really terrible. Few vegetarian options. I reserved this for s birthday and no mention was madd
