Lobster Shop South Ratings and Reviews
Went to dinner with a friend last night. We split the Lobster Bisque, Caesar Salad and the Scallops, and Lobster. The Pan Seared Day Boat Scallops were encrusted with macadamia nuts, and was accompanied by wild mushroom risotto. We added on a Maine Lobster Tail that was cooked just right, not rubbery at all. This waterview restaurant is great for couples, family’s, large groups. Plenty of parking on site. Great seafood.
I've been going to this restaurant for years. While it's still enjoyable, the seafood fresh, and the view and brunches amazing, the quality of dinner dishes and service is not what it used to be. The waiters are great. Unfortunately the owners/managers seem to have done away with much of the staff who assist the waiters pouring water, busing tables, etc. which overburdens the waiters and frustrates guests.
My grandson and I had a fabulous meal for my birthday. We started with the calimari. It was crunchy fingers that were really great! I then had the lobster bisque, which was very good, and my grandson had the chowder, which he loved! For the entrees I had the trio platter with salmon, shrimp and lobster tail and my grandson had the scallops. We shared the different plates, so we could taste a little of the devine on each one. Both were very well presented. For dessert we shared a candle-lit berry cobbler, also exquisite! The server was great, too. All in all, a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday!! Thanks!!
We had a scruptiuos meal with great service.
The stuffed mushrooms were delicious for the start. We (5) all had seafood. Lobster, scallops, prawns and crab cakes are all noteworthy and dessert was chocolate cake to creme brulee.
The drinks were generous and the service (Justin) was spot on.
I admit it was a bit decadent but it was worth it!
The 3rd time I have been here with both times beforehand being quite good. This time not so much. There was actually a hair that I pulled out of my potatoes and the quality of the overall brunch buffet was below what it was. For 35 bucks a person you should get a better quality in my opinion. If they can ramp it back up to my initial visit then worth the money.
Made it early for our 6:45 reservation and were seated quickly and early 😀. Our waitress was top notch, attentive and all our food was served quickly and with suggestions that didn’t feel like an “upsell”.
We started with a prawn cocktail and lobster bisque a with a big of Sherry (try it), my husband tried to lick the bowl clean he liked it so much!! For me I️ must say the cocktail sauce had the right amount of spice and flavor.
Dinner was the crab cakes which should be noted were Beautiful and not all filler!! I️ had the lobster tail with a lightly dressed arugula salad. There were potatoes there also but it was unnecessary. The lobster tail serving was large and prepared well. Sweet and yummy.
We finished with a decaf cappuccino and shared a piece of peanut butter pie (waitress recommended) the peanut butter filling was delish and the whip cream yummy, the only unnecessary thing was the chocolate and caramel syrup which just took away from the yummy pie!!
We had an early dinner here before attending a concert at the Tacoma Dome. We had a table right next to the window and the view was gorgeous. The food was amazing! Everything we tried was incredible. We had a variety of starters and entrees and everyone tasted everything. I booked this online without any personal recommendations so was hoping it would be good. We had a really wonderful experience and will definitely be returning when we’re in Tacoma again!
My mother, her husband and I were having a long awaited Saturday afternoon lunch. The service was brisk, yet unobtrusive. We were not rushed nor hovered over. The food was amazing. All three of us cleaned our plates (which is unusual for the other two). The bread that came with the meal was the perfect Italian style. The only problems were that they had a hard time finding me some black tea. We will go back!
Server did an outstanding job, she explained all options to us, made recommendations, gave us ample time to make our choices. Further, she was very attentive throughout our visit and refilled our beverages without interruption.
Our meal was outstanding and enjoyed by all.
One of our favorite places to dine in Tacoma.
For a first experience, the Brunch at Lobster Shop was awesome! The food was spectacular, and there was something for everyone - from healthy to naughty choices! Also, the atmosphere, service and views get high marks too. We are definitely coming back for Brunch again!
Took friends from Hawaii and Virginia here on a Saturday evening; it worked out great and they appreciated the water view. We were there early so were able to take advantage of their sunset special, which was delicious. Our wait person was very nice. If you come on Saturday, I highly recommend you have early reservations (like before 6 pm), because they got very crowded as the evening progressed.
