Lobster Shop South Ratings and Reviews
Our server was helpful and prompt. The crab cakes were the best I have ever enjoyed- full of Dungeness crab. It was our 33rd Wedding anniversary and it was so nice to be at a restaurant that was quiet enough to talk without having to shout. View was very nice, even though it was dark.
The food was bland.
Linguini with lobster. Lobster was flavorless. No parmigiani offered.
The raw oysters had too much of a metallic flavor. Too small also for the price.
Oysters rockefeller were tiny.
The waitress should have explained the tiny metallic flavored oyster situation or they should have just taken them off the menu.
Company was great. Food was awful
Met my brother to thank him, as a holiday gift. My husband and I arrived early, during Happy Hour. We toasted the New Year with a Champagne Cocktail. Then the four of us were seated at a table with a city view. I enjoyed the beautifully decorated holiday tree in the entry and the decorated wreaths around the picture windows. Even on this gray day, we enjoyed the activity on the water and the city lights. Twilight menu. We selected the "three" items to get dessert. Each of our entrees were delicious. My starter was Lobster Bisque. Great with a drizzle of Sherry. Wild salmon with rice pilaf and broccolini. Creme Brûlée for dessert. Others had the Shrimp Louie and the Prawn entree with Caesar Salad. Other desserts were a generous serving of Lemon Sorbet and a Flourless Chocolate Cake topped with whipped cream. Atmosphere is formal. Got noisier as it got later. Server was excellent but we lost her attention as the place filled up. There was an issue with a bright street lamp that she was slow to respond to. Overall, friendly and efficient staff from hostess to bar server to waitperson. Food was served hot and cooked perfectly. My salmon was fork tender and moist, yet fully cooked. A nice evening and a special treat for all four of us.
The table by the window was perfect. The hot fresh bread came out and one little container of olive oil and pesto. For 6 of us we really needed 2 of each. I asked for more oil but no more bread was brought out. I had the anglio prawns. A bit disappointing this time. Odd taste. The signature salad was very good. Service was great.
Enjoyed the ambiance. Server was pleasant but did not anticipate needs...refills, checking on food satisfaction, etc. Two diners had meals with French fries which were very overdone and just small pieces of potatoes....for a restaurant of this caliber this should not happen. Have dined in this restaurant many times since it’s opening and are usually very satisfied.
Wife had the lobster, can't go wrong. I had the scallops, abit undercooked, and sorry, but can't compare to Stanleys & Seaforts scallops. Waitress seemed to be somewhat lost at times, I mean LOST, we left the bill & money without her any where to be found, and while walking out we still did not find her.
Beautiful evening celebrating a dear friendship. Fabulous service and great food. We closed the place down (at 10pm on a Monday!) and the staff waited patiently for us to finish with no pressure. Our waiter was very friendly and sweet.
All in all a gorgeous evening!
Went here for our anniversary. Staff was awesome. Helped get flowers prepared and on the table waiting for us. The food was amazing. I had the planked salmon which was flaky and melted in my mouth. All my wife could talk about was how wonderful the prawns were. It was an absolute delight to dine here. The price was below what I expected for a restaurant of this caliber and the service above expectation. Serge was amazing and helpful. They were pretty busy that night but we still felt like we got all the attention we needed. If you want to amaze your friends or impress that special someone, this is the place! Thank you Lobster Shop for a wonderful experience!
Went for Sunday brunch. Made reservations which worked out just fine. Was very pleased with the friendliness of the entire staff. However, we were disappointed with the brunch meal itself. The hot breakfast items were not up to par. The omelet I had requested was more like scrambled eggs with stuff inside. My daughter ordered an eggs benedict and the egg was well done and the sauce had no lemon taste at all. But, I must say the prime rib roast was done just right and very tender and tasty. All that said, we will not do brunch again because it was over priced for what we got. We most likely will return to the Lobster Shop for their dinner menu etc.
We were a little disappointed this time. We had been to the Lobster Shop before and rated it 5 stars, but this time we had to send back our orange juice because it tasted strange, the poached egg on the eggs benedict was hard, the coffee was luke warm, the bacon wasn't crisp, the hash browns were under done. But, the prime rib was excellent and all the seafood was great. I'll definitely go back but I'll try other brunches in the area to compare.
When we first arrived they had the holiday boats passing by which was beautiful we were celebrating 3 birthdays but in the middle of dinner a group of people were sitted across from us and were so loud we could not hear ourselves talk it was very disrupted for us
One of my favorite restaurants in Tacoma. Great view, atmosphere, service and food. The signature salad is perfect. Seafood is always good but I also appreciate the prime rib dip. Only criticism is the creme brûlée seemed somewhat loose.
Went to dinner with a friend last night. We split the Lobster Bisque, Caesar Salad and the Scallops, and Lobster. The Pan Seared Day Boat Scallops were encrusted with macadamia nuts, and was accompanied by wild mushroom risotto. We added on a Maine Lobster Tail that was cooked just right, not rubbery at all. This waterview restaurant is great for couples, family’s, large groups. Plenty of parking on site. Great seafood.
I've been going to this restaurant for years. While it's still enjoyable, the seafood fresh, and the view and brunches amazing, the quality of dinner dishes and service is not what it used to be. The waiters are great. Unfortunately the owners/managers seem to have done away with much of the staff who assist the waiters pouring water, busing tables, etc. which overburdens the waiters and frustrates guests.
My grandson and I had a fabulous meal for my birthday. We started with the calimari. It was crunchy fingers that were really great! I then had the lobster bisque, which was very good, and my grandson had the chowder, which he loved! For the entrees I had the trio platter with salmon, shrimp and lobster tail and my grandson had the scallops. We shared the different plates, so we could taste a little of the devine on each one. Both were very well presented. For dessert we shared a candle-lit berry cobbler, also exquisite! The server was great, too. All in all, a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday!! Thanks!!
We had a scruptiuos meal with great service.
The stuffed mushrooms were delicious for the start. We (5) all had seafood. Lobster, scallops, prawns and crab cakes are all noteworthy and dessert was chocolate cake to creme brulee.
The drinks were generous and the service (Justin) was spot on.
I admit it was a bit decadent but it was worth it!
