The Lobster Shop restaurants have been operating since 1977, offering some of the Pacific Northwest’s favorite seafood dishes.
The restaurant sits over the waters of Commencement Bay, offering breathtaking views of both Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountain Range.
During the summer months the restaurant offers outdoor dining and with a dock available for boaters, makes for an excellent day getaway.
Lobster Shop has always been the place where the South Sound loves to celebrate; whether a birthday, anniversary or promotion you just can't beat the atmosphere.
Annually rated by the well known Zagat Survey, Lobster Shop takes a great deal of pride in making sure that every experience is a memorable one. We look forward to serving you soon.
Really great place to go for any occasion. Very friendly staff and great food. Can be a little spendy
Enjoyed the wonderful view, nice service and good food.
Every seat is a great seat there. Our waiter was fantastic and the food was excellent. Looking forward to taking family back there for special events.
Celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our waitress was exceptional. We had the lobster artichoke appetizer, it was okay. It was not hot and too salty. My husband had the lamb chop special and he absolutely loved it. I had the salmon and it was served with wild rice and brocolini. I thought the salmon was okay, really lacked seasoning. I’m sure that had we complained the waitress would have made things right. We chose not to
I love this place and the food. I am happy every time i go. This time, we came for my husbands birthday and it was as on point as usual. Our waitress was fun and even took a pic with my husband while he blew out his birthday candles on his ice cream sunday!!!
This was our children’s 13th Birthday and they did not do anything special. However, Honor said Happy Birthday , and it was appreciated.
Our server, Honor, was very attentive and had a cool name.
Lovely waterfront location, especially stunning on a clear, sunny day! We were last seating (1:30) for the Sunday brunch and felt that the offerings were not replenished in a timely manner or not at all. No salmon remaining for the last hour and we had to pick out grapes one at a time from a nearly empty fruit platter.
Sunday Brunch was really good. Lots of choices and everything and the view is fantastic.
This has become our "special" place to go for lunch or dinner in Tacoma for great food and a spectacular view. I have already recommended it to two friends.
The food was subpar, service was friendly and good (for the most part). The 5 of us, out of a group of 8 that bought lobster got cold lobster, it also had a weird texture, like it was undercooked. My steak was very fatty, the mashed potatoes were very bland and I honestly couldn't tell if they were real potatoes or instant. The peppers served with my New York and Lobster were soggy and not edible. The view was beautiful, that and the deserts were the most redeeming qualities. It was a very underwhelming experience. I had to send my drink back and order another (which I've never done in my life) and my Mom's salad was forgotten.
It was pretty disappointing overall to pay so much and have so many things wrong with our meals. I'm tempted to try again to see if it was just an off night but I hate to risk paying so much for the possibility that it might be the same.
Service was poor. After several wonderful recent experiences here this was disappointing. The server disappeared for most of our time here. She was very disorganized and not attentive. Steaks were way overcooked beyond what was ordered. Several different staff members handled our experience. It is clear our server did not make it clear which table number we had or who ordered what. Food was cold. The attention to details that made our recent experiences great was lacking.
The larger group next to us was disruptive and loud.
The water, pepper and sherry we right behind my head so every sever bumped my head and chair every time a fellow dinner need water or other condiments. There was not excuse me or sorry for this ongoing disruption and interruption.
Very upset with the whole experience.
The food was excellent. It has been a while since my last visit.
The Twilight menu was perfect! But our waiter, Adrian made the meal!! He was wonderful!!! We will be back soon!! Thank you Adrian for making our special meal fantastic! Food was delicious but Adrian’s excellent service made the experience!!! Thank you Adrian!!!
Me and my wife love this restaurant and recommend it to all our friends.
I'm sorry but I was embarrassed to treat my sons girlfriend to experience A fabulous brunch and it was subpar. I was given a stake knife for my eggs Benedict I thought that was strange but I couldn't even cut it. I pulled it apart. The crab was nasty and I love crab. I gave some to family and they had the same opinion . It sure wasn't good enough for $80 for two and then the other people . Their were 5 others
Exceptional brunch. Great service. Quiet relaxing atmosphere. .
Was my first time here food was great service was fast and Efficient not nothing to complain about
Our first visit - server Honor was great and the food was really good.
Enjoyable lunch with good friends, food, service, and atmosphere.
Nice staff great food. Requested window seat didn’t get one. All in all nice experience.
Twilight special dinners were great. View is outstanding. A favorite place to enjoy
A lovely evening and wonderful waterside meal to celebrate wife’s birthday. Food was, as always, outstanding and the service exceptional. My wife selected the Halibut stuffed with Dungeness Crab and a starter of Green Salad with lemon vinegarette dressing. Both courses were beautifully presented and deliciously prepared. Likewise with my Cedar Plank Salmon which was, as usual at this establishment, a true taste treat. We would recommend the Lobster Shop to any couple looking for a lovely evening while enjoying fine food with a view.
For making reservations in advance. Seating was terrible we sat at a table for 4 with a chair at each end to make six. Table and seating area was so cramped. It was like the more we can seat does not matter how much room and comfort and we could only have one plate per person at a time due to space on table of 6 but really for 4. Dishes were not always picked up. Very uncomfortable seating capacity. Service was blah. Never plan on going back.
It was our anniversary
Great food and service. Great for special occasions. Highly recommend.
The food was not very good and the waiter seamed like he didn’t want to be there
Great Service, Food, Price & beautiful location 😀
Good service and great food. Best Filet I ever had. Perfectly cooked.
Hadn’t been to the Lobster Shop in years and we were disappointed this visit. The food was just so so and definitely not as good as we have had on previous visits. Our Lobster Tail was tough....and we were soooo looking forward to melt in your mouth Lobster. We ordered Steamed Clams for our appetizer and they also were also on the tough side and very under seasoned.
Clam Chowder was the best thing we had at our dinner. The Caesar Salad was just ok too and I also remembered this was so delicious before. Maybe they were having an off night but we probably won’t be back for a long time.
Lights are way too bright in the restaurant we felt like we were sitting under a spotlight. Sorry Lobster Shop but this wasn’t worth the $200 we spent for a nice dinner for two.
Same menu as a year ago. Nothing really stood out as something new and different to try. Drink list and desserts had way more selection and variety then the dinner menu.
Food is very good. However disappointed in the Lobster Bisque. Use to have chunks of lobster now none.
The best crab cakes. The service was slow and we had to ask for bread several times but everyone was friendly.
Our dinner was outstanding! Fillet Mignon cooked perfectly as ordered and paired well with the lobster tail. She had crab stuffed halibut which was delicious. And that peanut butter pie! All that with great and friendly service.
On the water, greatest service and perfect for special occasion.
Great Valentine's day dinner! Excellent service and great food.
Made reservations 3 weeks in advance and got a 6 person table in the kids and family area for the 4 of us with peekaboo view. Very hard to conduct a quite conversation intermingled with all the larger groups. Scallops were undercooked and needed to be re-cooked. Disappointing experience.
Boyfriend and I had Valentine's day dinner here and everything was wonderful. Food was delicious and the wait staff was friendly and inviting. Would defiantly recommend for a special occasion.
The food was great. Thought the quality had went down but this meal was excellent
We went to celebrate Valentine's Day. The atmosphere is very nice. The food and the service were very good. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience.
