Delicious and beautiful lunch on the water!
Amazing food and service
The service/our waitress was the best part of our visit. Oh yea, the views of the water too. =)
The old fashioned was watery.
The lobster carbonara was ok. Too much dependent upon fat for flavor. Couldn't sleep that night from processing the fat content.
Won't get these again.
There might be better menu options.
Great night out, good food & it was our first time there too.
Been coming here for over 25 years. Worst experience yet :( Food was disappointing starting with over salted chowder to shrimp w/cilantro (not identified on menu), I couldn’t eat them.
I’ll give it 1 more shot before finding another go-to place in South Sound
Both hostesses and waitress were very nice, helpful and efficient! The service was fast. The food was disappointing for the Lobster Shop. The calamari appetizer was good, however the Lobster Melt - which we both had - was full of mayonnaise and chewy artichoke. The little meat in it did not even taste like lobster. the french fries were soggy and the salad on my wife's plate was just a handful of greens. We will never order them again!
Great service, great food and great view! What’s not to like here?
Fantastic meal...every bite, from the bread and dipping oil, to the calamari (best EVER), the crab Louie salad, and the entree of lobster carbonara, which was simply superb. To finish it off we split key lime pie, which is my favorite pie and the Lobster Shop ties for the title of best I’ve ever had. As for the service, I can’t say enough good things about our server, and she definitely went the extra mile for us. Next time we are in town we will definitely return.
It had been at least five years since our last visit to Lobster Shop South, but I gambled that the restaurant's quality hadn't declined during the pandemic. The gamble paid off in a big way, as our anniversary dinner was truly superb in every respect! Seating outside on the spacious back deck was very comfortable, and the beautiful weather provided lots of Puget Sound scenery as a backdrop for our celebration. Our server, Jody, was training a new colleague, and definitely showed her rookie a first-rate example.
As for the menu, we had lots of excellent options. My wife loves lobster, so was very pleased with her choice of an 8oz Maine lobster tail, fingerling potatoes, and champagne butter sauce. I got my own lobster fix, but with the addition of cedar plank-roasted King Salmon and jumbo prawns, partnered with broccolini and tasty mashed spuds. There was a better-than-average selection of wine, and I was impressed by the "mocktails" on offer. (I was happy to toast our 31 years of marriage with a Lobster Shop rendition of a "John Panton", which is a Scottish golfer's beverage of ginger beer and lime cordial, though they call it something else here.) We split a Key Lime Pie dessert with some dark roast coffee to finish our meal in fine fashion.
While our evening certainly wasn't inexpensive, the bill was matched by the great value provided by the waitstaff and kitchen. The Lobster Shop is alive and well; I highly recommend it for a special occasion!
Celebrating 40th birthday, service was terrific (Rachel C).
Halibut special superb, fish trio excellent, Crab Louie OK.
Many fun cocktails and ok wine list. Seemed a bit over-priced. 4-stars experience!
Food was expensive and sub-par. Our crab was dry and had sand in it. The wait staff was slow. They had poor beer selection so I got an Old fashioned. It was sweet like cherries and tasted watered down. It was our anniversary. We asked for the check and the waiter told us to wait for desert. They brought out plain vanilla ice cream with Hershey's syrup on it. Which is fine, but we waited an additional 10 to 15 minutes for something I wouldn't make myself at home. I will not be returning.
The food and the views were incredible, as was the service.
We really enjoyed the patio which has beautiful views of the water.
Excellent service and the food was excellent. I loved the clams which were delicious.
It was very nice. Food was excellent, service above average, perfect place to celebrate my mother's 89th birthday!
We dined outdoors with a beautiful view.
Big box restaurant. I expected better food and mixed drinks. Blah. Especially for an expensive place. Server and hostess were excellent.
BEST PLACE TO EAT IN WASHINGTON!!!! HOLD ALL IMPORTANT CELEBRATIONS HERE.....
Great service on the patio and food was outstanding.
We went there as one of our favorite places from the past and loved the twilight dinner specials. But it seems they have discontinued this along with happy hour and in the past everyone was so friendly but last night it seemed so cold. We will just have to find a new place to visit for our date night.
Great for an anniversary meal! It was beautiful with the views and great service.
The food was delicious. The view beautiful and the service was exceptional.
This was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. Great food and great service! We’ll be back!
We sat on the deck. Lovely view of Commencement Bay and Mt. Rainier.
Great meal, great service. But to spend $ 85 for lunch for 2 without alcohol seems a bit much. But can't beat the view and will order something a little less expensive next time.
Lobster Shop is one of our go-to restaurants in the area. This particular night we celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary. Great seating and view as always. The food was just right and the service (Rachel) was personable, professional and delightful. Lobster Shop has, if anything, improved over the years, and last night was the best yet!
The views were excellent and the food was very good. The "background" music was a bit too loud.
Food, ambience and service was good. However due to the noise level it was hard to have a conversation.
Enjoyed a quality meal on the deck with a million dollar view. Seafood is fresh. Wish they had halibut and chips on the menu. Our server Leah S. made our meal special.
Amazing food and great service!! Morgan, our server, was awesome.
Very special birthday dinner to celebrate my husband’s 78th birthday and being with some very special friends who are also vaccinated. Everything combined to make it a memorable event. Halibut was perfect, triple sampler plate was great. This is how it should be
I’ve been there often and I’ve never been disappointed.
Lovely evening on a lovely summer day on the deck. Good food, drink and company.
Ordered the lobster melt. Very little lobster with all the best the ingredients
Good but smallish portions and pricy.
Excellent all around.
Everything we tasted was well done. From the Halibut to the Lobster. The view was amazing. Go with the seafood sampler, you won't regret it.
It was a really nice experience. We were celebrating our 50 th anniversary.
Great service, great food and pleasant environment for summer dining.
