Lobster Shop South
The Lobster Shop restaurants have been operating since 1977, offering some of the Pacific Northwest’s favorite seafood dishes.
The restaurant sits over the waters of Commencement Bay, offering breathtaking views of both Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountain Range.
During the summer months the restaurant offers outdoor dining and with a dock available for boaters, makes for an excellent day getaway.
Lobster Shop has always been the place where the South Sound loves to celebrate; whether a birthday, anniversary or promotion you just can't beat the atmosphere.
Annually rated by the well known Zagat Survey, Lobster Shop takes a great deal of pride in making sure that every experience is a memorable one. We look forward to serving you soon.
I have heard about this place for years and was afraid I would be disappointed. It was great. The service was what you expect from the nicest establishments and the menu options were perfect. The Maine Lobster Tail is delish!
We enjoyed lunch on the outside deck. I ordered salmon niçoise salad and my husband ordered crab cake appetizer. Both were delish. I did ask that they not over cook the salmon. It was cooked perfectly and moist. The service was excellent as usual.
Very good food, great service, beautiful view. Only con is traffic can be a pain on Ruston Way.
Justus was a great waiter, food was good. Just took a long time to come out.
Much better than Point Ruston. Atmosphere, service and of course the food. Looking forward to next weekend.
View was beautiful, food was good but pricey, service was slow and not overly crowded.
Delicious food and amazing ambiance on the water
Ordered steamed clams which were not available. Dinner salad was mediocre but the rest of the meal was very good. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient.
Great service, great food. Arrived a bit early, and they were accommodating (it helped that it wasn’t busy).
Excellent food and service! The experience was so great.
We had a reservation for 6:00 and had to wait 8 min to get seated. It didn't appear that the resturant was at full capacity.
Great service, food, view and cheerful hosts. The deck was a wonderful place to dine.
I’ve been here many times and it’s always been a stellar experience. Not sure what happened, but the food was cold, little flavor. Not great all in all.
I wish I remembered our waitress name but she was awesome. And had every quality in what makes an excellent waitress!!
A bit pricey but by and large a great place for dinner. Had a very good time and the meal was excellent.
Lovely setting, amazing views, and excellent execution. It's been a favorite for years and hasn't failed us yet :-)
We have been coming here for years and the food is excellent The service, however is not what is expected at a $$$ restaurant, barely acceptable at Red Robin. The restrooms have been in need of updating for a few years now, as is much of the restaurant. Sad, but - the food is great and nice views of the Sound.
Food is wonderful but Salmon is farm raised😛
The food and service was great. I plan to be back soon for lunch this time
Service was great. We got to sit out on the deck and the food was cooked perfect. Overall a great experience.
Amazing. Expensive but worth it. Awesome food. Celebrated birthdays and guests in town. Always a treat.
Best service ever!
Wonderful selection of sweet and savory.
Excellent service, the food was superb and it was easy to have a conversation. A very enjoyable experience.
Another lovely experience at the Lobster Shop! My wife and I sat out on the deck with a heat lamp nearby and had excellent service. Calamari was fabulous; she had the salmon and I had the ahi and we both loved it and cleaned our plates. The bread with dipping herb oil is delish. Really enjoyed our overall experience there!
Wait staff was very attentive and made sure all needs were met
Average food for premium price. $36 salmon served soggy. It was like eating warm salmon dip. The location is good but there are far superior restaurants on Ruston that serve better food at lower prices
Restaurant was great! Unfortunately there was a lot going happening on Ruston way the day we dined and parking was completely ridiculous. I dropped my wife and ended up having to park over a half mile away, this should not be an issue and needs to be addressed by the management
Just make sure you have 3 hours to eat dinner cause the services was so slow. Then our food was cold. So they took our appetizers off the bill and gave us free dessert.
Failed to confirm reservations, marked us as a no show in open table, failed to make mention of birthday mentioned in reservations
I’ve been to the lobster shop a few times and overall a very good restaurant. The only thing they failed at was it was birthday that day and when I made reservations I did mention it was birthday since that was the reason I went to the lobster shop. Not one person made an attempt to acknowledge it except the hostess at the last minute after we finished dinner and heading out the door. Not even the waitress acknowledged it was my birthday. Beyond that my experience was great. My point is when someone comes in for a special event the staff should at least attempt to acknowledge the event. I’m planning to go back to celebrate a friends birthday and retirement and would like something special to celebrate it.
Excellent food and great location. The twilight dinner selection satisfies everyone in our group. We will keep this restaurant on our "go to" list.
Great restaurant! It's pricey, but the food is always very good and the view can't be beat!
Very good food with a great view of Commencement Bay! Service was much better than I typically see around the Seattle / Tacoma area - Morgan was very cheerful and attentive.
Not sure I cared for the specialty house cocktails, but the King Crab Legs and Lobster Dip made up for it. Would have been nice to get chips or crostini with the dip though.
Great venue for special occasions.
First I want to say that I don't complain much nor am I very picky. With that in mind I'll say that the food was great and the atmosphere was great and the service was everything you would expect from fine dining. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is that is looked slightly dated. (It could use a remodel) In my opinion, The Lobster Shop has the very best location on the strip.
We will go there again!
Lobster Shop is my go-to place when I have out of town friends or family and want to talk and hear what is they say. The view is spectacular, the menu is good with a lot of options, the food was delicious, and the staff competent and courteous.
The service was fabulous. The serving staff was friendly , efficient and very professional and also educated on what they had to offer
My favorite restaurant! The food, service and view is amazing. ❤
Good choices for the buffet. Food is always good. Wait staff is always available to retrieve used plates.
