Lobster Bar Sea Grille - Fort Lauderdale Ratings and Reviews
We went there for Stone Crab and were not disappointed. They had jumbo's which was great as so many places have medium claws and they are a lot of work for very little crab. The sauce was excellent. This was our first visit and we would love to go back and try other things on the menu as they looked and sounded great. The only disappointment was the lobster bisque. There was not one shred of lobster in it although it was tasty.
In an effort not to interrupt our conversation, our waiter took a very long time to take our order and continued to disappear between courses. As a result we spent 3 hours at the restaurant and opted to leave off appetizers and desserts so as not to take even longer.
Stacey was our server, and she was top notch. Friendly, funny and spent time talking to us and taking great care in a busy restaurant. Visiting from New York, this was a treat and she hit the ball out of the park! Thank you Stacey! See you soon!
Management was horrible. I got uncomfortably called out because the sleeves on my shirt weren’t long enough. Forced me to wear an oversized jacket. Mind you I was not wearing a T-shirt or a shirt that was not acceptable for fine dining. And the irony is that the hostess had on a tube top showing way more skin than my upper bicep could ever. It didn’t help that after the hostess retrieved us from the patio, the manager asked me point blank, “And you’re here for?” Which I replied, “To eat.” Overall the experience was embarrassing and yet, I still stayed. The service didn’t make up for the encounter as it took 20 minutes just for the server to come over to take our initial drink order. The restaurant was NOT busy at all and especially not busy to justify the wait times that it took in between drinks, appetizers and entrees. After the experience I definitely will not be back. I would rather overpay for my seafood at much nicer establishments that isn’t stuffy and doesn’t try to be something that it’s not while selectively enforcing outdated rules on what is and what isn’t acceptable dining attire.
Décor is very nice. Service and attention from the staff was above average. Our server was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. Wine list had good selections. Food choice were unique though a bit limited on offerings. Same goes for the deserts. We had the Crème Brulee which was delicious, but all other (warm) desert offerings were accompanied by ice cream. Our server suggested we ask for the desert but not have the ice cream. Probably not the best response. Overall, we had a delicious meal in a very fine restaurant.
One of the best dining experiences my wife and I have had. I was looking for somewhere romantic to take her for dinner for our anniversary with friends and this restaurant checks every box you can think of. The customer service was fantastic. The food was great. It was a great place for our anniversary. They even congratulated us several times and even though we didn’t want dessert they were thoughtful enough to bring us a little something.
Definitely can not go wrong with Lobster Bar Sea Grille.
As a local, this became our favorite high-end restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale after our 1st visit. The seafood is fantastic and creatively prepared. I had a New York strip on my most recent and was blown away. It was perfectly cook medium rare as was the most flavorful steak I have ever had. Didn't expect that but was pleasantly surprised. Also, the warm spinach salad is to die for and prepared at your table. The bartenders and wait staff are some of the best in South Florida.
I took my friend there for her birthday and it was absolutely PERFECT! The ambiance was very nice, the service was remarkable. Robert was our server and he made us feel as if we were the only ones in the restaurant.
For appetizers we had the grilled octopus and crab cake; phenomenal!
Entree choices were Lobster stuffed lobster, Signature Lobster, Tater Tots. Needless to say the meal was spot on!
Dessert was the creme brulee. Light and just right to seal the night.
I will definitely be going back.
Great restaurant! This was my 2nd dining experience. One negative issue to note. I did not have a wine list and asked the waitress for a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. She said the Caymus was the only Cab offered by the glass. My guest and I had 2 glasses each which we discovered were $35 per glass. Upon further review of their wine list on this Open Table site, I discovered there were several other much lower priced options that I would have preferred. I did not appreciate being "upsold" and told untruths by our waitress. Great restaurant! This was my 2nd dining experience. One negative issue to note. Wow - what a scene! Super lively bar with all kinds of beautiful people. We were treated very nicely by everyone-hostesses, servers & a manager who made sure that we were perfectly happy. All the food was outstanding but the Petrossian caviar was beautifully served and at a fair price. Had the signature Lobster tail which wasn't cheap but was an amazing treat! Drinks were very strong. Great night.
Had a very nice dinner and enjoyed - beignets, Caviar, lobster and scallops. We had raw bar- oysters and were disappointed in the shucking. Pieces of shell in our oysters, oyster meat not slices away from shell. I am a raw bar snob and it wasn’t up to snuff. Other food was great and we would go back- just wouldn’t get shucked shellfish.
Way overpriced. Seafood was good but their surf and turf had a lobster tail that was fried. Why fry a lobster? The lobster bisque had no lobster pieces, unusual for a place called "Lobster Bar." Their prix fixe menu had a strange dessert of honey yogurt which was awful. In short, other seafood places offer better food at much lower prices.
Lobster Bar Sea Grille is probably the best over-all dining experience that we have enjoyed in Ft Lauderdale. Don't get fooled by the name, the lobster was awesome but there are plenty of other wonderful dishes. From the ambience to the service it was great. The food was creative and delicious. We didn't sit in the bar area but it looked vibrant. We will return for that experience. This is a must visit in Ft Lauderdale.
Great place to have dinner with friends. Food is always excellent. Was disappointed with the service this time, which for the prices we paid should have been over the top. I wasn't happy with the fact management had to bring me lemons which I asked for several times, nor not ordering an appetizer I requested.
