This was a dual birthday celebration and I knew the ambiance of the Lobby Lounge would be perfect, especially with the waterfall view.
Julio greeted as exhuberantly and directed us to a table for 2. However, I mentioned I was hoping for a waterfall view and he immediately whisked us to a much larger table without any hesitation. He checked with us periodically to make sure we were comfortable. SO NICE to have caring service.
Philip our waiter was excellent as he answered our
dining questions. Homemade wheat bread rolls for my veggie patty was a delightful surprise. Again personal service was excellent and so was the food.
Birthday cup cakes were served and enjoyed (thank goodness without the sometimes customary birthday song) Wonderful afternoon and look forward to return visit. The holiday decor in the lobby was beautiful, especially the crystal chandelier over the Christmas tree.
Our “Christmas Feast” consisted of 1/2 sandwich, small pumpkin soup, small creme brule for $22.
Were told it was a Plated menu, with flank steak options, etc. for about $35.
This was a snack menu.
For $150 my mother and I basically shared a sandwich, and my husband had 3 half-dollar sized “tacos”.
They were cleaning the room for the next service, we assumed, and felt rushed and uncomfortable.
Very disappointed. :-(
My dinner at Lobby Lounge was excellent with the special Mercato Italiano Italian buffet special. The selections were numerous, not too fancy but very well presented and tasty, and the service and ambience were quite nice. It was a perfect dinner evening for a final night of a 2 week stay at the excellent Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village property.
Our Anniversary dinner on 11/19/'17 (exact day) was just SUPERB. Rhonda (the FABULOUS Hostess) greeted us with a wonderful, warmth, graciousness and professionalism that was just perfection. Our initial server (Travis) wasn't feeling well so Phillip Bates took over and was EXCELLENT....... terrific personality, professionalism and attentiveness that made the evening (in addition to our OUTSTANDING dinner), even BETTER!!!! Our Anniversary evening could NOT have better. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Lobby Lounge visit for lunch on our arrival was excellent! The food was delicious and enjoyed the 1,2,3 lunch combination with the tomato fennel soup, half adobe marinated chicken club, and small chocolate pudding. As customary with the entire restaurant and hotel, all servers and management were efficient and courteous. I always enjoy my daily breakfast here, but the lunch was just as fantastic and highly recommended!
It's the Four Seasons! If you know the name, you already know it's high-level service and above average dining. The service was amazing...as the manager checked on us a few times and even brought us a complimentary desert to try. There was live music and the atmosphere is so great! Even with music you feel like you're in your own world and can visit with your dining guests.
We came here for Mother's Day and had great service with great food. The view is very pretty which is another reason we chose it. The tables are spaced well so you don't feel crowded at all. It's classy, but not stuffy. We will be back again, for a special event, or just a nice evening out.
The lobby restaurant is a lovely setting. We went after the spa, but didn't feel out of place among business people, ladies luncheons, etc. The menu is a bit eclectic. I had the salmon salad previously (which was very good!) , but decided to try the turkey burger this time. Mistake! Very dry, no condiments, and too tough to eat which was unusual for a turkey burger. It tasted like it was frozen but I have no idea if it was. Only ate half, but I was full enough so I didn't complain (I'm sure they would have been happy to bring me another option). My friend had the poke salad which was good but the dressing was too spicy so otherwise also too dry. She added soy sauce which was ok. I'll go back but probably stick to something new.
The food was just mediocre at best. Pricey for what you received. Last year the pizza was brought to your table as well as bread and a antipasto starter. Now it was serve yourself and no bread. Salads were not remarkable. The main dishes was lamb, salmon, fish and chicken. Overcooked. The dessert bar whipped cream and raspberries and blueberries, a cake, some kind of a cream dessert, last year they had a ice cream bar with wonderful choices. Way overpriced. Very disappointing.
The food at the seafood bar (Sat nights) was excellent. Great variety, fine balance of flavors, fresh and well-cooked—especially for a buffet!
Our server, Caitlyn, was one of the best I have ever had. Her knowledge of the food, options, and especially her attention to detail on our cocktail orders, made us quite happy.
The following review is not blaming our server, as she was quite nice.
First, my wife ordered a drink, which they did not have the ingredients for. She then ordered another drink, and they didn't have the ingredients for that one either. Our server then proceeded to tell us it's because she had the wrong menu, and she was not aware the menu changed. PROBLEM IS, everyone in the dining room had the wrong menu.
Second, we ordered the cheese plate. When it came out, we asked our server what the cheeses were. She did not know because the "cheeses looked different", and she proceeded to tell us that "they must have changed the cheeses on her" so she doesn't know what they are.
Thirdly, we were both still literally eating cheese on our appetizer plate, and they brought out the main course. AT ANY HALFWAY DECENT restaurant, much less one in a Four Seasons, our appetizer plates would be cleared and our main course wouldn't come out until we were finished.
Fourth, none of our silverware was cleared when the main course came out. Again, I would expect something as simple as replacing our silverware with new silverware when we get our main course. Not to mention, I bought a steak, and no steak knife was brought out.. had to ask for one.
I think the food was overpriced. The quality wasn't bad, just not worth the price we paid. Our drinks were also not mixed very well.
All of this stuff would be OK, if we were eating at a $15-20 plate restaurant... not at a restaurant in the Four Seasons.
This lounge used to be the lobby bar of the Four Seasons hotel. There was a nice restaurant, Hampton's, on the lower floor, which was much nicer than this lounge. This restaurant is not romantic. There is too much light and the tables are too far apart, making this an unattractive dining experience. On Saturday night, the only dining choice is a seafood buffet. This lounge is fit for a hotel breakfast restaurant and not for fine dining. Overall, too casual and a little disappointing for a Four Seasons hotel.
The visit was during the Christmas Season so the decorations were beautiful and festive. The food was very good, as usual, but I was a little disappointed that they did not bring the pizza choices to the table. Instead, there was a table setup near the buffet table to select the available pizza choices. We were not made aware of this until partly through our meal. The service was fairly good but was a little inconsistent. Some tables were served fresh bread and some were not. We were not offered bread by our server. There was definitely not the same quality service or quantity of choices as the first time I visited the Italian Mercato
, but it was still worth the visit and I would recommend it to others.
We went there on a Saturday night for the Mercato Italiano Buffet. The staff is wonderful, the place is stunning and the food is delicious!! My 8 years old liked it as much as we did. It wasn't too crowded and they would refill food very often. One of the best dining experience we had in the area!
We stayed at the Four Seasons hotel for a wedding, having lunch in the Lobby Lounge on our arrival. The seating area was spacious and comfortable; we were given a table by the window with a view of the lawn and waterfalls. The lunch menu had a well-balanced variety of options, including crafted cocktails and a decent selection of wine and beers. I chose the 1-2-3 menu combination of a cup of soup (Sweet Corn & Pernod), half a sandwich (Slow Roasted Pork Cubano) and a small dessert (Berries & Sorbet). It was all excellent in both presentation and flavor, and the service was friendly and professional.
