LMNO - Le Meridien New Orleans Hotel
LMNO’s Christmas Day Buffet was wonderful—very fresh and well prepared. The service was excellent—our server (Doris) was very engaging as were all of the staff and management—they all seemed to enjoy all of their guests. At $58++ plus beverages per, it was not a cheap outing, but a great option. Would go again in a heartbeat!
Food was cold. Usual Cajun food. Just wasn't happy should have stuck to the ritz
The service and all of the staff were outstanding!!
Thanks again for the great experience.
We had Christmas Dinner there. It was a buffet. The food was good but at $60.00 per person I would have expected it to be better. I was a little disapointed.
The service and food were rather good, but in the beginning, the first food on the buffet was cold. I didn't mention it to the management, because there wasn't much they could do. The food a little later was warm. The taste was there, I just wanted something warm. I will give them another chance later on.
When we arrived at the time of our reservation the restaurant was closed & looked as if it had not been open for dinner that day, so we had bar food, which took forever. Why did they take our reservation? Bar foor was ok but pricey.
It was not open. Why was I able to reserve at all?
We went for the Thanksgiving dinner. Biggest issues was we went at the end of their scheduled time and food like the Turkey and Ham were really dry by that time. If they have reservations at 5:00- and we weren't the last ones- then they shouldn't be aiming to close at 5:30. And the staff seemed like they were trying to get out by 5:30. Overall I liked the selection of food and it was a decent value. But we did a Thanksgiving brunch which was far superior. I'd like to try this restaurant on a regular menu day.
We were there for Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet so it was probably different from normal. The service was outstanding. We were able to be seated early, the server was always right on top of anything we needed, the back-waiters kept our drinks full and the buffet servers kept things full and clean. We like the quieter environment of the restaurant, which is unusual for a buffet in our experience and there was certainly plenty of food including the holiday traditional items. The food was "good" for massive prepared amounts but the price was too high considering there wasn't any "specialty" items or anything that really stood out in our minds. At $40 per person this would have been a good value but not at $58 each. We enjoyed our day and I was glad it wasn't a "Holiday Inn or Disney" environment with kids running everywhere but with a drink each and tip the four of us left paying $300 total and that was sticker shock. If you don't mind that price point and want a traditional meal in a quieter environment on the holidays then that this is the place.
We ate at LMNO for Thanksgiving. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for a holiday. The staff clearly didn't want to be there (not that I blame them) and didn't do their job (replenishing food at the buffet, cleaning buffet utensils, etc.). We arrived at 2:30 and the dessert table was half empty. I assumed they would add more, but never did (even at our request). Overall, it was a disappointing meal, especially for the money spent.
We had high hopes for the Thanksgiving Buffet at LMNO. Sadly it was not to be. The server was wonderful. The Food was awful. Ham & Turkey dry and cold. Nats were flying around the buffet table. The serving spoons were dirty. The sides were cold and the appetizers were sparse. For a $200 Buffet to feed a family of 4 More should have been available and the food should have been fresh and hot.
The Thanksgiving Buffet at LMNO was to be the highlight of our culinary holiday in New Orleans. It was a huge disappointment in every way. The salad was fresh and the appetizers were good in spite of the fact they had a massive array of inedible breads just taking up space! The vegetable selections sounded good, but tasted blah or nasty unless you count the mashed potatoes...but it's hard to mess up Yukon Gold potatoes. They over seasoned the sweet potatoes, under-seasoned the dirty rice, and just plain ruined the squash and shrimp. Turkey was so dry it was like trying to eat cardboard. The ham was fine, but nothing special. I don't know who they were trying to impress with their version of turkey gravy, but it was god-awful. And the desserts that were supposed to be the crème de la crème were just terrible. Whipped cream pie? Really? Sweet potato pie? A variety of miniature eclairs that were bland at best; tartelettes and bites of sweets that appeared to come from a box. I absolutely LOVE desserts! I could eat them any time of day. These were worse than you could find in a cafeteria. Now that I've bashed the food, let's talk about the wait staff. Some were dressed in jeans with torn knees, men wore flannel or plaid shirts, and most of them looked bored or upset to be working on Thanksgiving. The two at the carving station would not even smile! If I had it all to do over again, I would walk out! A total waste of money and time! My advice....DON'T DO IT!!!
The food was delicious. We had the Thanksgiving buffet which was very good tasting but a little overpriced.
From arrival on time for our 945 saints game day reservation to the time the two of us got our very simple breakfast fare was an hour. The restaurant was not even half full and every table we saw complained about the wait on their food, with whole tables leaving when they saw they would not make the start of the saints game in person even after sitting down close to two hours before the game.
Service staff was very friendly and is obviously used to the speed of their kitchen...would recommend passing unless you have 2 hours for breakfast...can’t imagine how slow dinner must be!
was the wirst dining experience; lunch special was redfish tacos -- which included literally 1 sad taco! awful. will not return.
Ordered a burger, which took half an hour, despite my being the only customer in the restaurant. Somehow "medium" equates to "burnt beyond belief." It looked like something a child had prepared when attempting to cook for the first time. It had a thick crust of black char all over and was something that would obviously be thrown straight into the trash by anyone actually paying attention. Of course, it seemed clear no one was taking care of anything anywhere. I had to carry the burger across the restaurant to show to the staff, as I was completely ignored while they all chatted with their backs to me. They asked if I would like another, as if waiting 30 minutes for something served on a fast-food bun with room-service condiments and frozen fries would ever be acceptable in a setting like this. Now I understand why there are so many horrible reviews of this place. They are sadly well deserved.
Good Hotel Restaurant for Breakfast
Le Meridien Restaurant
Friendly and professional staff
Great to star the day.
Service was horrible. There were 3 servers and 6 tables and they were still slow. They forgot our appetizer and didn't realize till they brought our entree. Had to ask for a drink list twice then took forever to bring a beer. Everything they serve has to come from the hotel upstairs which makes their logistics very difficult. Don't go there too many other good restaurants.
While the food was quite good overall, it took what seemed an extremely long time to prepare it.
The food at LMNO is outstanding! Please try the gulf crab cakes eggs Benedict with creole holladaise sauce for breakfast. Truly off the charts creative and delicious! We also had the blue crab fettuccine and veal chop at dinner. Amazing both! For a light bite or appetizer try the Bloody Mary deviled eggs. Yum! Awesome place. Can't wait to return. We loved LMNO and the Le Meriden hotel. We had a most fabulous vacation!
The experience at LMNO was AWFUL!
We were the ONLY table in the restaurant and the service was still horrible. We had to go and find our waitress on 3 different occasions to refill drinks and get our checks. The food was mediocre at best and took over 30 minutes to get to the table (again we were the only customers). When I complained to the manager and waitress, they literally stood there and did not respond. I asked "is anyone going to say anything?!?" at which point the manager told me I "need to watch who I talk to like that". She was essentially threatening me!
No wonder no one else was eating in the restaurant at peak brunch time on a Sunday late morning. DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!
Went for the Christmas buffet option so didn't experience the regular menu. Definitely recommend it for holidays. And based on what we experienced I would guess the kitchen does a great job on regular days. The selection was good: traditional and local classics done so well! Moist smoked turkey, pink and red prime rib, tasty sides, and local dishes seemed to be prepared in an upscale style. Delicious desserts. I kilometers chocolate and those options were plentiful. I would have liked to see some fruity options and holiday classics. Ambiance was mid century modern and bright not romantic. Good for family and friends and a date without the 'romantic ' atmosphere. Lovely friendly attentive staff even when they'd been working all day Christmas Day.
With a 530 reservation, we were surprised they ran out of crab legs by 545. About half of the hit items were more cold than warm.
Pre-dinner drink was 1/2 volume than I receive at other establishments for the same price - $11.
Staff often blocked passage from dining room to buffet room.
No utensils at dessert station. Staff indicated to use spoon from gumbo station.
Rashida server was great! Food was awesome!
went for the thanksgiving buffet. Nice assortment and all was tasty.
Servers were friendly and attentive.
Would definitely go again
Great breakfast with old friends. Wonderful restaurant.
We took advantage of the Coolinary menu which was an excellent value. The regular menu is very pricey for lunch.
This place does not have their act together at all!
We went because of the COOLinary program, but when we were seated, we weren't given the COOLinary menu. (??) It took about 10 minutes to get someone's attention to request they bring us the menu.
We waited 50 minutes for our 1st course. There was only 1 table in the place when we sat down, so I know the kitchen wasn't slammed. Also, we ordered off the COOLinary menu, so they should have been prepared for that. Apparently their kitchen is upstairs, and "the printer wasn't working", so they never got the order. But for a good portion of those 50 minutes, our server was the only employee in the whole place, and so, she couldn't leave to go to the kitchen to see what was taking so long. Apparently it was her first day as well. I mean, talk about being set up to fail! If you were a manager of a restaurant, and you're only wait person was on her first day, would you leave her completely alone?
Then, my friend's salad came with cheese on it, even though she specifically requested no dairy - twice - and was told that would not be an issue. Again, we were told that the kitchen didn't see the no-dairy note. The server also didn't seem to have been trained on the menu, or else she would have known that the salad had cheese in it and she could have maybe advised my friend to order something different.
The table next to us, finished their meal and left, and then their table sat there with all of it's dirty dishes for the next hour.
The food was good, but this place is very poorly managed/run.
Great for business meeting. Server was excellent !
The food was phenomenal for the coolinary offering, there is parking onsight, and the service was spectacular. Definitely a keeper!
I booked LMNO because it was open late and on the Coolinary restaurant list. Harvey the Bartender greeted us with this lovely cocktail, Sparkling Sauzerac. It went great with everything on the menu. I would definitely go back.
We stopped in for drinks and dinner after a parade on a Saturday night. There was only one other table there. We waited about 10-15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at the front, and then she came to seat us. It then took almost 20 minutes for a waitress to take our drink orders and because it took so long, we decided to order food at the same time. Sure we were a table of 7, but there was only one other table of 4 and two women working behind the bar. The server took our order and almost 40 minutes later, we still had no drinks. We went to speak to the server who was chatting with the bartenders, and she made an excuse that we ordered different wines and wasn't sure if we wanted a bottle or not so that's why it took so long. At this point,
We had spent an hour at this restaurant and hadn't even received a drink yet- so we walked up and left after telling her to cancel our order. I have never had to do something like this before, but I've also never been so upset with a restaurant's service like this. I'm hoping this is growing pains since it had just recently opened, but unless they fix these issues, this restaurant won't survive long in a city with such great food options, even if it is in the new Le Meridien hotel.
