Everything was just ok. The building is beautiful! The ambience fun. The food... meh.
Had a nice meal and the service was awesome! Will attend again.
The Mussels were delicious but the blackened trout was not very good....
The Livingston welcomed my party of 8 and we were well served. I love that individuals plates are brought by individual servers - no big serving table setup taking up space and stealing the ambience. Tasteful 'one on one service' is really lovely. Food was delicious - everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes immensely and there was a lot of sharing going on. We had appetizers, enjoyed all the bread and still also enjoyed dinner and drinks. It was leisurely, unrushed, excellent ambience, great company and awesome service! Thank you Manuel and All!
Livingston's was a great place for brunch before a Sunday matinee show at the Fox. Food was very good and the setting is pretty and historic. Waitstaff were pleasant. There was no problem getting in and out in an hour to make it to the show. We also valet parked there, which made leaving after the show very quick (purchased valet parking when I purchased the tickets).
Food is not good. I've been here twice and both times it is dry
We went to the pre-theatre brunch on 2/8/2019 and met our dear friends there who drove over from Birmingham. We hadn’t seen them in awhile and the Livingston was perfect! Our server Deanna was lovely. There was no rush, it was quiet, we grazed our way through the brunch for two hours. Best of all the Fox is right across the street! We will definitely do this again. PS There was a nice variety of food choices and all was good.
We always eat at Livingston’s before the plays at the Fox. We’ve had season tickets for years and have gotten to know some of your servers very well, particularly Hoel (sp?). Service is fantastic and being able to park at the Georgian Terrace makes the evening very easy. We will always return.
Went before theater. Food was horrible. Veal chop so full of fat we sent it back. They took it off bone and said that’s all that could be done. BBQ shrimp undercooked. Sent back and they put in microwave and dried it out. Dessert was only thing edible. This was our second and last time there. Never again.
Come here often before Fox shows...especially good food and service this time!
Shirt rib was adequate. Brussels sprouts tasteless.
My Mom and I ate here before a concert at The Fox Theatre. While service was delightful, our food arrived 5 minutes after we ordered it, bland and lukewarm. My Mom ordered trout which arrived looking like rubber while I ordered the steak which was tasty but the potatoes that accompanied the steak were dry and unappetizing. The restaurant is very dark with lightly printed menus making it difficult to even see the menu. Service was prompt and courteous but I would highly suggest finding another restaurant prior to your show at The Fox!
The food (breakfast) was mediocre especially for what they charge. But the service was ABSOLUTELY terrible. There were very few tables, yet we only ever saw our server when she took our order. We were completely finished with our meals (dishes had been cleared by other staff) and wallets out for 30 minutes before finally I had to flag down someone to get our check. And it still took nearly 15 minutes to get the server to run cards and bring the final bill.
It had been some years since my last visit to The Livingston. So we decided to go, I remembered how great the braised short ribs was so I had decided to get that again. The waitress Jessica recommended the Beet salad and the Delmonico steak because it was delicious and great for sharing . Jessica was the best waitress, her customer service was awesome. The salad was great but the steak was tough from the beginning I sent my half back because it was a little under cooked to my liking. I really regretted not getting the braised short ribs. From now on that will be my go to meal when I return to The Livingston. it’s a great restaurant with great ambiance and food. It’s a great location for a night at The Fox theatre because it’s right across the street.
Our post-Fox Theatre dinner was sadly most disappointing. It was spoiled by the servers most obvious lack of graciousness, and /or lack of training, or perhaps not heeding any training they may have had. Our servers rushed to remove our plates before we had finished, and continued to do so. It was not a particularly busy evening for them, and I had been prepared to leave a generous tip. Our time @ the table was a normal dinner length. Alas, I do not feel compelled to recommend Livingston to anyyone @ this time.
When I looked at this restaurant online there was a brunch menu available. When we got to the restaurant on Sunday at 1:15 there was a brunch buffet and we could not order from any menu. The buffet was moderate at best, the grits were so cold that cheese would not melt on them and there was no dessert offered at all. A very disappointing experience.
Beautiful place, brunch buffet was lukewarm/cold. Our server was great and very attentive. No menu options available, just buffet.
It’s a shame that a place this beautiful is so mismanaged. The brunch was very Disappointing. Continental breakfast at hotels are better. There was nonopyionnto order anything fresh or from the menu. The service (or lack of) was terrible. I would never visit again. The building is beautiful for pictures and convenient to the Fox Theater. - Annett from Atlanta Georgia
I have had brunch at the Livingston multiple times before a show at the Fox. Unfortunately, this experience was not like the others. The food options were slim and everything was cold. Normally there is shrimp and grits, a full dessert spread, and the sausage is edible. This time, the plain grits were stone cold and were never replenished in the time I was there. There was no dessert and I couldn’t even cut the sausage with a knife. Poor quality in general...but especially disappointing for the price.
We went for brunch on a Sunday before the ballet. The atmosphere was great, however, the chairs could be more comfortable. The food choice was excellent and everything tasted wonderful, however, I enjoy hot food and your buffet food was lukewarm to cool!! Not appealing.
The wait staff was gracious and responsive to our needs. Diana was our server and she was wonderful, warm, personable, and you could tell that she enjoys her job and interacting with people. Please give her our thanks!
I live about an hour and half away and had made reservations here based on my son's recommendation. I enjoyed the overall experience but hot foods need to be kept hot!
Sunday Brunch was a huge disappointment. Food was less than ordinary and most was cold. Better breakfast selection at IHOP. Could not order off menu because they didn't have enough staff, or so we were told. I would not recommend this brunch to my worst enemy.
Lovely dinner. Try the cauliflower fritters, they were yummy. Steak was great and cooked to perfection. Nice place for a date night.
Had a meal prior to a show at the Fox, and the food was very good.
For the price, I expected much better food and service.
Excellent food and service. Pre-theater menu was excellent.
Jessica our server was terrific and we enjoyed two hours of dining before seeing rick of ages on the 3rd. Lobster Bisque was wonderful as shrimp bites with pimento cheese on grit cakes was delicious!!!
Food was pretty good. Service was a little disappointing.
We found the food to be enjoyable. We ordered soup and a salad as well as entres. My friend’s soup arrived shortly. My salad did not arrive. Being courteous, my friend opted to wait until my salad arrived before enjoying his soup. We could not locate our server to inquire about my salad. Our entres, ribeye steak and veal chop, arrived before I received my salad or my friend had started enjoying his soup. The servers, not our server, took our entres back to the prep area where I watched them being placed under a heat lamp. The servers, not our server, then retrieved my salad and brought it to our table. We enjoyed the soup and salad. Our entres were then removed from under the heat lamp and brought to the table. We enjoyed our dinners as they were still delicious. Our server then showed up to inquire about desserts. We both ordered dessert. We enjoyed and finished our well prepared desserts. After finishing our desserts we waited for 15 minutes without seeing our server. We finally gave our credit card to a bus boy asking him to give it to our server. He could not locate our server and gave our credit card to the host asking him what should be done. The host then returned our credit card back to us after he could not locate our server. He said he would go look further for our server. Our server finally showed up without apology or explanation. We spent $149.00 on dinner that night. We won’t be visiting Livingston again and won’t be shy about sharing our disappointing dinner experience with other friends and colleagues.
1) Food was cold and dry
2) Had a 1:45p reservation and they sent a text at 1:37p saying I could show up earlier....I was parking my car at time.
3) Very disappointing for a Christmas brunch
Went before we visited the fox theatre . Lunch was a buffet and had a wonderful selection of food from eggs to salads and also a great selection of desserts
Enjoyed a post-theatre dinner. Very convenient after seeing the Nutcracker at the Fox. Great service and decent food options, especially if you like Southern cuisine.
My birthday is Jan and we were entertaining our 12 year old granddaughter with a stay at the Georgian Terrace and the Nutcracker matinee
She is enrolled in a social class once a week . Livingston’s service food and beautiful Christmas decorations and the beautifully set table gave her an opportunity to practice her manners from “Social”
We had the same waiter we had last year and he was very attentive and kind
I never write reviews but our experience was just plain weird so I thought I would include a quick review. I made reservations at Livingston’s because we had tickets for a show at the Fox. We were there early but told them we needed to be out at a certain time for the show but weren’t in a hurry. We ordered some drinks and our meal since it took the waitstaff so long to make it to our table. I ordered scallops and my wife ordered the steak. There must be a time continuum in the kitchen because our food came out before our waiter retuned with our drinks. We honestly thought it was someone else’s order. When the waiter returned, drinks in hand my wife asked for a steak knife at which point our waiter basically disappeared for the rest of the evening. We then flagged down one of the floor runners and asked for a steak knife again. The woman literally spoke no English so we mimed though needing a knife for the steak and we’re promptly brought a butter knife. We flagged a different person down and again they only spoke Spanish. After getting 3 different people to bring us butter knives we gave up. We finished our meal (and our one drink since our waiter had disappeared) and when it was time for the bill our waiter showed back up looked at my wife’s mangled steak and butter knife and promptly commented “we have steak knifes you know”.
Food was OK. Certainly wasn’t a total disaster but pretty sure I won’t go to Livingston’s again.
Very limited menu, was not impressed with options
Wonderful service, great atmosphere, delicious food! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Service just wasn’t up to par. Drink order incorrect. Didn’t have appointment silverware for coffee. Miscommunication. Our waitress was pretty good but over stretched- the wait assistants haven’t had enough training or ESL classes. Waited a long time for check.
Went for Saturday brunch before a show at the Fox. Buffet only, $25/person and much of the food was not warm. Service was slow- waited a long time before the hostess showed up and took forever to get the check and pay. A beautiful setting but definitely need to improve the brunch situation.
Wonderful brunch before a Fox Theater show! We love the food and the setting!
Excellent ambiance and service. Loved the menu. We brought our kids for my daughter's birthday (10 yes old) they treated her like a queen.
This was a lunch date before attending the Nutcracker. We went last year and could order off the menu and were seated near Christmas trees and decorations. This was a buffet style lunch - not impressive. Would have like to see either hand carved ham or rosy beef station for the price. The wait staff was inattentive for the over priced wine and champagne. The biggest plus was the convenient location across from the FOX theater.
