Livingston Restaurant + Bar Ratings and Reviews
We were attending a show at the Fox Theater across the street and decided to have dinner close by at Livingston. The drinks were good and the homemade sausage appetizer was great. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made good recommendations. The food was wonderful. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Atlanta. It was really nice to have drinks and wine with dinner and be able to walk across the street to our event.
Went here for dinner prior to a show at the Fox. I've been several times, and it does not disappoint. Food was great, service excellent, ambience just wonderful. We sat outside because it was so nice. It really wasn't very loud, even on Peachtree. Just wonderful for people-watching. I highly recommend this restaurant. Aside from having great food at a fair price, the place is absolutely gorgeous.
The Livingston is a gem my wife and I have patronized for years. Since it's remodelling it has gotten even better. The ambience, service and food are top notch. I usually get a room at The Georgian Terrace, dinner at the Livingston and a show at the Fox. It makes for a wonderful evening and morning after. I look forward to my next visit.
The only problem we had was that the menu wasn't very descriptive. For example, the trout salad, while delicious, consists of 95% pear, 3% dressing, and 2% trout. No greens at all. The portions were a bit on the small side, too. But everything was delicious and it's a really cool place to dine. (Oh! One more thing... It is IMPOSSIBLE to find the entrance from outside. Good luck.)
Our Easter Brunch experiance was excellent. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The service was exceptional, and in Atlanta that is sometimes hard to find. Gio our server was extremely helpful, provided excellent guidance for future dining advice and was very attentive during our dining at Livingston. We are already planning to try out dinner one evening as the menu looked great and the prices were on target. Great Job....
The location was exceptional. We elected to sit on the patio directly across from the FOX. This night there was a prom being held and it was exciting seeing the kids enter w/their prom attire. Also, the ambiance was great. We received a "coupon" via travel zoo which included 2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, and 2 glasses of wine. The value was equal to $125; I paid $59 + $32 = deal??.Once we received the portions to each, they were UNBELIEVABLY SMALL! The entree was ridicuously small. I requested the filet mignon which came with spinach. The size of the steak ($26) was the size of a 3x3 sticky note..not kidding, and the spinach was a dollop..smh. I can understand the sizes of the apps and desserts. Theses portions are conducive to fine dining
A beautiful restaurant and outstanding customer service. We were fortunate the weather was awesome and we could enjoy sitting on the patio. Great stop for dinner before seeing a show at The Fox. You just walk across the street! We also enjoyed a cocktail after a show at The Fox in the Livingston bar.
Our server and the weather made for an outstanding evening. We ate on the patio and the slight breeze was perfect for the temperature and the changing marquee on The Fox generated great conversation re: upcoming attractions. The range of offerings made choices difficult in all areas. Appetizers and main course were sumptuous. Desserts were almost as good, but not quite the "blow me away" that I had expected after the great prior courses.
The salad was overdressed and missing ingredients, the soup was bland (and i mean BLAND), the steak was okay, the lobster was well presented, the dessert was actually pretty good , but the server had horrible breath all night. Not so great, so I didn't bother writing about it at DineWithDani.com
We enjoyed excellent service and a tasty meal during restaurant week. We ordered a few extra (not on the restaurant week menu) appetizers, the shrimp and the tuna. My husband liked the tuna so much, he ordered another one! That was our second time dining at Livingston and we would go again.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Livingston. We sampled the $25.00 per person Atlanta Restaurant Week menu that included braised beef, asparagus soup, chopped vegetable salad, and bavarian dessert and would highly recommend the restaurant to others. Prompt and attentive service and a view of Peachtree Street and the Fox Theatre enhanced the meal. We will definitely return for dinner or brunch soon as regular menu prices were very reasonable.
I'm a # 1 fan of Livingston's many years. I've been 30-40 times. One especially good deal is the Millionaire Monday where they serve lobster or steak for a low price. I brought a group of 6 this time. I normally bring groups of 6-12 people each time. We sat down at 745pm, ordered drinks. Waiter said they ran out of lobster and could only serve steak. Only one wanted steak. We asked him to ask the Manager if they could do another seafood instead and the Waiter never came back to give us an answer. Finally, one gal went to seek the Manager. He confirmed refusal to substitute another dish for the lobster. What a poor Manager. They lost a real good free advertising person who bought hundreds of people there over the years. We all left!!!
Purchased a TravelZoo after one of my friends raved about Livingston's. Definitely would recommend. Wanted an apple mojito, the best and first one served there. Can't wait to go back. Didn't bring the receipt, but our waiter was phenomenal. Thomas/party of two, Saturday 4/2 at 7
I went for the Hotel Restaurant Week promotion. Food was good, but not outstanding. My short ribs were delicious, but the fennel accompaniment was barely cooked and detracted from the dish with its hard and stringy texture - too harsh. I wish there had been more than 3 baby carrots on the plate to make up for the huge mound of raw fennel. My spinach gorgonzola salad was creamy and tasty, although drenched in dressing. The gingerbread cake was a little sweet for me, but I'm not one for super-sweet desserts. My friend's caramel Bavarian was much better, however, and we ended up switching. Staff was extremely nice and professional. We sat outside at the bar patio to wait for our table, and on a gorgeous evening, ambiance was fantastic!
