Livingston Restaurant + Bar Ratings and Reviews
Service was ok at best. Was really disappointed in my visit this time. Took forever in between courses. Runners would literally run by, drop a plate on the other end of he table from where we were sitting , and then run off. All while never even saying a word. So odd, and not what you would expect when paying $30 a plate for dinner.
Ordered coffee with cream along with the dessert (which took 20 minutes to get to us) and they served it with milk. When I finally got a hold of the waiter again to let him know it took another 10 minutes for him to bring actual cream. Saw him pass by at one point with two cartons of cream. Made me think that they were trying to pass of the skim milk that they originally served me as maybe they didn't want to go get the real cream?
The restaurant did not appear to be full either, so I really don't know why everything was so messed up.
Will not go here again. For that much money, the device should be impeccable. There are plenty of other options in Atlanta.
The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated makes you feel like you have traveled back in to time. For starter the Salmon on top of a BBQ Chip or the Shrimp and Grit Cakes genius. The Veal Chop with Fava Beans was excellent and cooked to perfection. The Trout was served with cheese polenta which was so light and left you wanting more. I highly recommend making the Livingston one of your top 3 with the menu changes that leave you wondering what is next.
I held a business lunch here and met with visiting attorneys because the location was convenient. However, the menu is quite limited and could really use updating. I would have lunch there more often if the menu had updated options. I had the chicken palliard and my chicken was heavily breaded and very deep fried (very hard and dry), I expected the chicken to be lighter and have a better quality. I was disappointed in my dining experience.
The food was great! The location was just perfect coz we were gonna watch a show at the fox at 1 pm. My only disappointment was nothing in the open table reservations said brunch started at 11 am. My husband and I wanted the Sunday brunch and then go to the show. But when I looked at their website it said breakfast starts at 630 or 7 am or thereabouts so when I saw nothing was available at 11 am but had an opening for 10 am i went ahead and made the reservations. When we got there and told them we were there for brunch we were told brunch doesn't start til 11 am and that they were already booked but we can come back at 11 am but won't have a table and THEN we were told that's a common mistake by open table app, meaning it's open table's fault it doesn't state clearly that anything before 11 am on a Sunday is just off the regular breakfast menu. It was very disappointing coz we were celebrating my birthday as well and was really looking forward to a birthday brunch. :(
Enjoyed our meal - husband said the veal was the best he's ever had. I tasted it and agreed. Salads were good too. Service was really friendly and good. Only negative was the bar - servers were nice but the clientele wasn't, not for an upscale bar. Overly drunk, somewhat argumentative group right beside us. Didn't feel at home and a nightcap experience at a comfortable hotel bar is something we rate hotels on.
Although the food was good, I was disappointed could not order from a menu..only had a buffet. The explanation was "it is Father's Day weekend and only a buffet is traditional". Would love to have known that in advance. Perhaps when I made my reservation? The room was terribly noisy.
My mom and I had dinner and drinks here before seeing Chris Rock at the Fox Theater. Great food, great atmosphere and service. Reasonably priced as well. I go here occasionally for lunch because I work in the area and I've never had a bad meal here. I'll definitely return.
Really great pre theater dining. Across the street from Fox Theater. The food and wine was delicious. We felt relaxed and enjoyed our meal before heading across the street. The veal was delicious, the short ribs were a little under seasoned but so tender, and the asparagus frites and cauliflower popcorn appetizer was tasty. Food is pricey but worth the convenience.
Saw a lot of mixed reviews about the spot, but decided to give it a chance. Being directly across from The Fox is great so I will contribute that to the prices being a tad bit inflated. The seating area is nice however I think the chairs are a little dated. Good selections of Bourbon...the veal chop was really good and the southern fried chicken was as well. The arugula salad was prepared well and our server Eric was outstanding
I was a little skeptical because of some of the reviews I read but it was a good experience for me and hubby. Our servers were great! The food was prepared well and came to the table hot. Our waiter was very attentive. Our drinks were refilled as needed.
The atmosphere was nice. The hotel was having a wedding in one of their ballrooms so there were a lot of people coming and going. However, that did not take away from us being served in a timely manner. The food was also good!
Tried to have a memorable birthday breakfast here. Worst dining experience in Atlanta. The only positive I can say about it is that is located in a beautiful building. It took at least 15 minutes to even get water. All the servers would walk by and look at us. No one seemed to want to wait on us. We had to ask for silverware , beg for coffee , and our meals were lackluster to say the least. We were so disappointed to say the least.
My wife and I were celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary and our celebration was perfect! We had a room @ Hotel Indigo, tickets for Finding Neverland @ The Fox and dinner before the show @ The Livingston Restaurant. Absolutely perfect evening and we can't wait to do it again!
I've dined at Livingston on multiple occasions and have had wonderful service and food however our last visit was disappointing. We chose to dine outside which was a bad choice on our part, too much noise. I felt that b/c we were outside the staff forgot about us or we were simply an after thought. The food was off this visit. I'll go back b/c it's convenient when going to the Fox but I don't think I'll recommend it based on our last visit.
The menu was smaller due to a show at the Fox, but it did not disappoint! My wife had the Delmanaco steak and I had the fried chicken. Both were good, but the steak was better. Excellent and fast service. The cornbread was amazing! We will definitely be back.
Food was mediocre. We went for mother's day brunch and were shown to our table by a sour- seeming guy. Our server was polite, but we only saw him at the beginning and end of the meal. This was a buffet and for 4 adults and a toddler, not once did the guy come to clear our plates! Drinks were offered at the start but no refills offered. Also, at $38 a person, I am assuming coffee/ tea was included, but he did not come by to see if we would care for any. This was at 2 pm and the place was not busy. Most of the food was cold and had been visibly sitting out for a long time. I did not notice any keep- warm burners under the food. The only saving grace was the dessert section.
Made a reservation at Livingston for Mother's Day brunch, at my wife's request. She had looked at the restaurant's Sunday Brunch menu, and was excited based on the menu and reviews. We arrive a couple minutes after our 11am reservation time, and are informed that it will be a few minutes....they are still setting up the buffet. Once seated about 20 minutes later, we are informed that the regular menu is not available....buffet only today. Nowhere was this mentioned, not on Opentable when I booked the res, nor on the restaurant's website when I checked the menu. My wife and I are both on the small side, and generally don't like buffet's because we don't eat much. We would NEVER have booked a res here had we known the only option was buffet. To make matters worse, the brunch buffet was a RIDICULOUS $38/person. Nothing special at all. In fact, some of the better-sounding options listed on the buffet menu (carving station with crusted pork loin) were mysteriously missing. The rest of the so-called "hot" options were barely even lukewarm. French toast? Gone. Biscuits and gravy? Nope. Chicken & dumplings? Cold. The bacon was crispy and good, but that's about the only positive. Unbelievable that they can get away with charging that kind of money for a sub-Golden Corral meal.
Needless to say, we feel like we got ripped off, and we will definitely NOT be dining at the Livingston again.
