Livingston Restaurant + Bar Ratings and Reviews
The service was extraordinary. We were attending a show at the Fox Theater across the street. Our meals were served promptly and the wait staff was excellent. We did not feel rushed. It was obvious that much thought went into the menu so that patrons who want to have dinner before or after an event at The Fox can be graciously served excellent food by well-trained servers in a lovely ambiance. The Livingston is top on out downtown restaurant list.
I took my mother to Livingston ‘s for her 81st birthday just before going to see The Lion King across the street. Everyone treated us like royalty. It was so nice and so much fun. Very accommodating and the food was delicious. It was a special night that mom and I both will always treasure.
We chose this restaurant because of it's proximity to The Fox for the musical we attended later that evening. The food was good, not extraordinary. The dessert menu was unimaginative and pretty basic. We attended early evening and the ambiance moved from none to some before we left for The Fox. We may eat at this restaurant again when we visit the theatre. We would not seek out this restaurant thinking its a destination in and of itself.
We had reservations for 5 for a dinner before the theatre. They were ready for us on time, our waitress was excellent, they kept our glasses filled with water, asked if we needed anything on more than one occasion, and the food was excellent. As my spouse said, the waiters were busy constantly, but never got in each others way. Have already recommended it to friends. Poached Pear in cranberry sauce with nuts, ice cream and whipped cream was delicious! Didn't want to share it.
Great location across from the Fox and superior service, but there's a very limited dining menu. Think 3 panels on the menu with 2 of them drinks. It's primarily intended to be a before or after show drinks and nibbling kind of place. The food we ordered was OK, but for dining, the selection is very limited.
We arrived for our 5:15 reservation, as this was a pre-show dinner. The service was excellent; attentive without being rushed. Although the menu was limited for pre-show, it was definitely extensive enough to provide plenty of choices, both appetizers and entrées. This is our second time doing this and would do it again. We were out in plenty of time for the show at the Fox.
Service personnel are not commensurate with the dining room;not well trained ,very basics such as taking cocktail orders ,clearing the table and anticipating the guests needs were not met.
I don’t enjoy such a review but it was very poor; and why there were what appeared to be only two servers on that required them to be at the far corners when we needed something made no sense; the stations they were assigned were odd.....
Someone forgot to pay the gas bill because there was little to no heat in the restaurant. Then to make make matters worse the doors that lead from the street into the bar opening & closing made it colder!💨❄️
The omelette was good. The Mimi burger was over cooked (like burnt).
The service was wonderful. I’d return.
we made a reservation for the Christmas brunch, after leaving cars with the valet, and entering the restaurant we were promptly seated. the buffet was wonderful, everything tasted good, our server was attentive, it would have been enjoyable to hear background music, but that was lacking. we completed our dining experience and went to retrieve our vehicles, only to find that the valet LOST the key for one of our cars!
this negated the wonderful dining experience.
Great combination with a Fox Theater show. Especially good for brunch before 1 pm Christmas Eve performance of the Nutcracker at the Fox and that was the occasion for this visit to Livingston. It is a family tradition for us on Christmas Eve. But also a good place for mom and dad to have dinner at Livingston before a show at the Fox and stay the night at the Georgian Terrace for a private get a way.
We ate dinner there for my son's graduation. The menu was short and the atmosphere was cold(even the temperature) and the waitress was non attentive. We sat a a table that was too large and not accommodating. The room was cold and the wait staff was non attentive.
It was a special evening for my son's graduation from Georgia Tech and we were very disappointed. The fried chicken was cold and dried up and the sides were cold. The desserts were frozen versions of something aweful. Sad for such a fine hotel and restaurant.
Good location if you are going to the Fox. Diana the hostess was great. Joy the waitress was very good but also very busy. Food was good but would not say great. My short ribs were a bit over cooked and dry. We needed to get to the theater so I did not complain. My wife's fish was very good. I would say this is a good place to go if you are going to the Fox. We have eaten at other restaurants by the theater and they are much worse. I probably would not go back unless I was again going to the theater.
