The food was very good but they brought the entree with the salad. They charged my husband for a glass of ice. Water is not served with ice so ice must be a premium there! Katie , our server, was awesome. We sat outside directly across from the Fox. Great evening !
this was my 2nd time (saturday, april 7, 2018) - both were pre-show at the fox across the street.
1st time was good, not great - got the fried chicken breast and service was good, not great.
2nd time got the flounder and it was not very good and the service was not very good either.
my friend got wine and she had to wait about 5 minutes (not exaggerating) before it came.
very limited menu on fox event nights so they can turn the tables. fine, but the limited menu should at least not taste like it was sitting under heat lamps.
i also got the parmesean potato wedges - they were good. my friend got brussels sprouts - not good.
maybe i should try it on a non event night and see if it's any better.
Awesome experience pre Fox dinner. The salad was superb, dinner (trout and delmonico) were among the best we ever had. Excellent value, affordable and very memorable. Thanks for a great evening
This was an evening out with a friend, with dinner preceding a show at the Fox Theatre across the street. Though the meal was a bit more expensive than I would normally spend, it was a marvelous experience! The food, atmosphere, and staff were all wonderful - and we enjoyed looking around the Georgian Terrace when we had finished our meal. Thank you for a great evening and memories!
I went to the Livingston for a special Easter Sunday Brunch. I was seated in an overflow ballroom, but this was actually much nicer than in the regular restaurant. The room as well as the beautiful flower centerpieces on each table were lovely.
The food was excellent with w wide range of items - both savory and sweet.
The staff were especially friendly - Otis, Ulysses and Diana were so attentive and friendly. It was a joy to celebrate Easter in this environment.
We had a 9:30am reservation for breakfast on Easter Sunday. Service was very slow and there were only 4 tables seated when we arrived. My order was incorrect and the waitress didn't bother to correct it. Poor customer service.
It was ok. Standard hotel food. I was very disappointed that our reservation was not for their Easter brunch. I did get a call prior to going but at that point it was too late to get a reservation anywhere else so we were stuck. I really wanted the Easter feel since we were away from our families
For a hotel restaurant this place is amazing. Locally sourced. Amazing southern cuisine. Great service. Great prices. Love it. I was staying at hotel downtown and came to midtown just to dine. Worth it!
Great staff. The bartenders were friendly and Oz was awesome and took good care of us.
Great dinner before going to Fox Theater. Excellent menu, impeccable service, great value.
We love going to the Livingston when we are going to a show at the Fabulous Fox. The food quality is always good and the service is on point. My only recommendation is that they change up the food offerings periodically to keep things interesting. Also, I suggest a soup on the line. Other than that, it never disappoints!
Drinks and apps after show at the Fox .
Great atmosphere and drinks ....
Extremely slow and inattentive service. It took over 30 minutes to get a glass of wine I ordered. We were served our main course, completed it, and some time after that, the wine came. Such a waste of a good night out. This has been an ongoing problem for this place, but we thought that maybe it had improved in the two years since we had come for dinner. I wouldn't recommend it.
Wow, the atmosphere was romantic, sexy, and elegant. We had a window seat overlooking the historic Fox Theatre and it doesn't get any better than that. But it did, we ordered a few mixed drinks, had the salmon chips as appetizers and the well done steak we ordered you could literally cut with a butter knife. To top it off we had a lovely waitress Ozge and she was so delightful and the chef cane out to speak with us regarding our dining experience. 5 star rating from us!
Great location and proximity to the Fox. Food was good, wait staff pleasant and helpful. We sat by the windows facing Peachtree St. Very nice.
Food and drinks were delicious. Service was pleasant and attentive. Great location as we had tickets for the Fox Theatre across the street.
We enjoyed our visit the service was EXCELLENT! We had the popcorn cauliflower and asparagus, bourbon glazed shrimp and the house salads alll were delicious! Looking forward to going back and trying the scallops!
My experience was very poor due to the unsatisfactory service provided by my "waitress". She didn't greet me until I had been waiting for 10 minutes, and only came over when my co-worker arrived and asked another server where our waitress was. Perhaps she was waiting until they came, but that is unacceptable as I wanted bread for the table and to order an appetizer while I waited. The least she could've done was greet me, ask IF I was even waiting on someone (I could've been dining alone as I had done the night before with my amazing server Eduardo), and asked if I wanted a drink while I waited.
We asked for bread, as well as ordered an appetizer and entree each when she finally arrived. We later had to ask someone else for bread again because she never brought it. Shortly after that our appetizers arrived...and 30 seconds later our entrees arrived as well. I had literally taken one bite of my appetizer when they came, and now had to accept my steak other wise it would have been sitting in the back while I tried to enjoy my appetizer.
Our waitress didn't come check on us for over 10 minutes ( way too long for any meal, especially steak), not even apologizing for or acknowledging the fact that our appetizer and entree came out at the same time.
She then began rushing us, asking what we wanted for dessert while I still had half a steak on my plate. She came back again and was upset when we told her we weren't quite ready to order dessert (again, half a steak on my plate). At this point, the service went from poor to dismissive and rude. We eventually ordered dessert, and didn't see her again until after we had been done for quite some time. She brought us one check, and was very rude when I asked for the check to be split. There was no indication we would be paying together, and if she had simply asked before hand like a good waitress would, there wouldn't have been an issue.
Decent food, but you'll find better service at your local Waffle House.
The food was not good enough to merit the price and was basically fancy hotel food. The restaurant downstairs is better!
It was a beautiful day to enjoy brunch outside before a play at the Fox.
My boyfriend and I chose Livingston's since we were going to a show at The Fox right across the road. We fell in love with the ambiance of the place right away, and our drinks were great (although they were out of the ingredients to make the Bruja, my dirty martini was delicious). However, the food was less than sub-par. It was quite bland, almost cold, and was not beautifully plated. We were given a menu modified for people who were going to a show at the Fox, so it might be pre-plated food? I'm not sure, but it was 100% not worth the $32 for the steak and surely not worth the $30 for the scallops. The ambiance really makes you expect delicious food, but it is such a huge disappointment. The service is excellent and really friendly, the drinks are great, but please, listen to us, the entrees are a waste of energy and calories. Only come here for drinks.
The food was wonderful, but our service was a bit slow. We had to remind our server about drinks we had asked for. Probably a full 10 minutes passed between when the first person's plate was delivered to our table and the last person received their food.
We came back after attending a show to have drinks at the bar. The bartenders were extremely rude when we tried to order a second round of drinks, saying "the one you just got was basically last call" in a harsh tone of voice. When we were later preparing to leave and trying to figure out the best way to get back to the valet area, bartenders were again extremely rude.
I hardly ever leave reviews of restaurants, but I was so disappointed in the bartenders at the end of the night that I felt inclined to review.
The food truly was amazing though. That and the convenience to the Fox are the only reasons I would come back.
Perfect place for dinner & theater with brunch the next morning. We always look forward to Hassan greeting us on Saturday morning with coffee.
Love stopping here before a show at the Fox! Great food and service
Very disappointing for pre-theater dinner. Long wait to even get beverages and ordered dinner at the same time. After waiting patiently salads arrived for the 4 of us and the entre arrived only for the other couple. When they had all but finished our shared entre arrived we hastily ate what we could and left for the show and barely made it. (We arrived 75 min before first curtains up notice) Waitress seemed a little peaved with the kitchen but offered no consideration for our issues. Doubt I will go back next time I'm going to the Fox.
This is always my favorite place to go before a play, good food and drinks and staff is friendly. Make a reservation ahead of time.
What an awesome experience and such a well-prepared meal. Highly recommended!
This is a great option because it is across the street from the Fox. The service this year was great - timely, attentive, organized. The buffet was better too. The only improvements that I would recommend were to cook the collard greens less - they were mushy. And, cut up the fried chicken pieces to reduce waste. My dining mates wanted scrambled eggs - they are not quice people.
Birthday Sunday brunch buffet made me eat way too much but everything was delicious, especially the fried chicken, collard greens and mac & cheese. This was minutes after eating a breakfast of bacon quiche shrimp and grits and sausage and French toast. Way too much food but it was very good.
I really wish they had another fish as a substitute for not having the trout. Everyone does not eat beef.
It's convenient to the Fox, no question, but shouldn't the food be more than halfway decent? Shouldn't it be at least as good as the service? Well, last night it wasn't, not even close. The short ribs weren't; they were really just pot roast. The fried chicken wasn't; crispy, but so dried out it was like eating a KFC leftover. And the pecan pie was really just a warm (not even crispy) apple crisp with one decorative pecan on top. That's one that really needs a new description. Overall, a bust.
Alvin Ailey at the Fox. Daughter’s first Alvin Ailey show
It was my birthday. My girlfriend’s and I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Would love to go back for date night and actually stay at the hotel next time.
Great service, wonderful ambiance and fine food, well presented.
Solid cocktail, solid meal, great service. In spite of some 2/14 saint day! Well done. Wish there were a deeper, more interesting wine list.
My date was a Valentine's dinner before seeing a show at the Fox Theater. The entire experience was GREAT! My date loved it.... I'm thinking about using it when I propose...
Love the ambiance, Service Excellent, and Efficent!
Food lukewarm... not good for scallops and grits.
We had dinner after a show at the Fox. We had prepaid our parking, but could not get out of the parking garage without paying an additional 25 dollars. There was no one to assist us either.
Livingston's was lovely. We walked over after a show at the Fox, and were seated a little earlier than our reservation. The menu is small but very good, and the service so friendly.
Great wine. Shrimp appetizer was delicious!! I would like to see more entree options.
