Tried all range of seasonal sashimi. Was excellent
Great little restaurant! Staff was unusually attentive, even though there was a huge party. The food was great, try the Japanese fried chicken. Sushi was quite good too.
I’ve been here before and everything was great.
Today, the service was so below par. Not only did we literally watch a table that arrived 20 min after we did receive their food first, but also the staff just seemed like they did not care. I was pretty disappointed. Hopefully next time the service won’t be so bad. Get it together ladies and gentlemen
Amazing delicious must eat!!!
Always amazing. Exceptional staff and food.
This is a wonderful spot for sushi. Delicious, fresh, deftly prepared and professionally served.
The dynamite rolls are amazing.everything was excellent. True Japanese style restaurant
Everything tasted delicious and fresh. The SFPD roll is my favorite.
This spot is a favorite of ours. The staff is always friendly and accommodating.
For drinks, we ordered the "Wind" Sake Sampler - it helped me to find Sake that I like and will order next time.
For food, we ordered the Tempura appetizer - delicious and fresh. We ordered the Family Affair roll - it was so good we ordered a second. The flavors were unique but familiar and played off off each other well. We also ordered the Spider Roll - the crab was fresh with great texture.
Would definitely recommend and we will be coming here again and again.
Really impressed with the sushi quality and the fact they get get fish from Japan daily for being such a normal price point, we will be back.
Quality has regressed unfortunately
Tempera arrived cold. Otherwise food was ok.
My favorite part of my meal was the sake flight. I love being able to taste different sakes and enjoy them for their differences.
Sushi is solid. Decor is meh! Service spotty.
Came for a Food Show and looking for a quite place to have good west coast sushi. They had all my favorites and a good raw fish selection. The staff was very friendly and they were quick.
Love this place - it is amazing food. Always get the Chef's Special roll (which is different every time). You can ask for different ones even on the same visit and they are always AMAZING. Love Chef Jerry and the whole team there - everything they make is delicious.
I love this place so much that I take every one of my friends and family there
Food is always delicious and even tried a few new rolls this time. My favorite is always the nigiri which is perfectly prepared and the service is always friendly.
There is always a wait on Friday night, but I can make a reservation 5 minutes before I get there and have no wait for a table.
My group had reservations for a party of 7 on a Friday night. The restaurant was extremely under staffed, and it took a long time to get everything. I understand that the restaurant was busy, but I saw how frazzled each employee was because of the busyness.
Came in on a Saturday night, to a full restaurant; and was immediately seated for our reservations. Restaurant was definitely bustling, and guests were all having a great time. Servers were working as a team to turn tables, and getting to guest's needs. Made it for an overall great experience.
The veggie udon was yummy! Went with friends and their kids, we had a great dinner for all!
The food tasted very fresh and service was excellent. My wife is not a sushi fan and wants to come back.
With so many great spot for sushi, I can’t imagine ever coming back here. Everything was fine, but nothing special at all. The service was so scattered and we felt totally rushed out the door.
Sushi was fresh but overpriced. Service was poor. The waitresses weren’t friendly and always seemed in a rush even when there were tables open and no one waiting.
Incredibly fresh fish, creative menu and very courteous/smart staff! Especially Cindy. Great addition to the neighborhood. Highly recommend!
Really good food at prices that are just a little high. The only roll that wasn't as good was the one surrounded with cucumber. The servers were super sweet. Not much in terms of ambiance, though.
Had my favorites: japanese uni, Santa Barbara uni, mirugai, blue fin toro, ocean trout, aji, Ankimo and the list goes on and on.
Even if I wasn't a local I'd travel to Live Sushi. Fresh, inventive rolls and the tempura is a must.
Every time I eat at Live Sushi I am amazed by the consistently fresh delicious fish. Staff is always informative and friendly. They are there when you need them without intruding on your dining experience.
Sometimes I think I should try a new place just for variety, but leave feeling a bit disappointed because they fall short of Live Sushi.
The fish was all too quality but the service was haphazard and a little clunky. The atmosphere is non-descript. I would suggest going somewhere else for a great experience.
Great little spot my girlfriend and I have come to love. The Romeo and Juliet roll is a favorite.
Supremely fresh fish, many catching the day fresh flown in from Japan. Presentation and prep was excellent.
Service staff not very attentive and even after multiple times asking for double the water after a hot day and walking there, slow to bring and didn't double up! If they could also come and check empty glasses more frequently, they are on to something great. Place was practically empty at opening, no excuses.
Waited 45mins for a table.
This place always goes the extra mile, thanks to your staff for being so accommodating and the amazing culinary experience
The food was great. We were a little disappointed that the food kept coming out a little at a time and not more at once. One sushi dish came very late, after we were almost finished eating. My tea was not re-filled either.
It was my second time here and better than I remembered! Interesting options on the menu. Looking forward to going back.
Great and delicious food! Great selection of different styles of sushi.
Always the best!!!
Even though it may not seem like much from the outside or when you first get in, it is definitely a gem to find. It was a nice (almost hole in the wall type feel) that allows you get the freshest ingredients placed in front of you. We had the live uni, the chef's special oysters/ uni shooters, and the lover's boat that was upgraded with fish that was imported directly from Japan's seas. The food was also accompanied by some Sapporo and House Sake. They have a big selection of sakes and sake flights that you can try, but since I am just fine with the house sake, I didn't dive into those selections. From the menu, they also had ramen, udon, tempura, edamame, and bento boxes that you can choose from during dinner.
I've been to live sushi many times. This is the second time we've gone having reservations and have had to wait in excess of 20 minutes for a table to open up(the last time is was over 45). This can't really be blamed on the restaurant as they don't want to literally kick people who are done with their meal out of the restaurant but it still isn't ideal. Especially when you're really hungry.
The server took about 10 minutes to get to our table which is annoying after waiting for a table for 20mins with a reservation. After she came over things got better.
The food is decent but some of the fish seemed a little watery/bloated. My gf and I eat sushi at least once a week so this was something I hadn't experienced before.
The Chu toro was the best of the night and of course the most expensive. Not sure if we'll go back as there are many other better spots with better service and better fish.
