This place has amazing decor and certainly seems like it should be a perfect upscale place for foodies willing to pay extra for a great meal. Unfortunately they just missed the great part.

From the beginning is was just a little off. We were late for our reservation but the restaurant was also a third full. So yeah, we are fine to wait but the hostess seemed like she felt like she had to make us wait because we were late. It was an awkward exchange she could have made so much less stressful. She was perfectly nice but that was strange. She then sat us right away but only when she double checked that we had not yet ordered a drink at the bar. Huh? The bar was crowded and the bar tenders were all in the weeds. What if we HAD gotten an order in, would we have had to stay at the bar? There was no one in the restaurant.

The dinning room is so beautiful! But in keeping with the whole night, the food and our server was just a little off. The smoked blue fish pate (they smoke their own stuff) was fine but a little flat. But there were not nearly enough crackers and multiple servers were certainly nice when we asked for extra crackers but it took a really long time to bring them, hence asking multiple servers.

The octopus salad was delicious. The escargot was good, also a little flat. The steak was pretty badly charred in parts and that hurt the flavor.

The profiteroles were certainly yummy but they were easily the biggest dish of the night. It's two huge ice cream stuffed creampuffs with chocolate fudge. It tasted great but it was also nothing you could not get at many other places for a fraction of the cost.

Also our slow and out of it server recommended a sweet after dinner drink that was not at all sweet and made me want to ask if she had given me the wrong thing.

We wanted to love this place and if it was less expensive I probably would not have bother with the review but this is Mud Hen level prices and far from Mud Hen level food.

Unique menu with a Montreal flair. Food was very good. I didn't like that we couldn't get seated without the whole party there. Way too noisy. I couldn't hear the person next to me without them shouting. This was a Saturday night, FYI.

If you have a reservation but opt to sit at the bar, they will cancel your Open Table reservation. There was a wait for tables but the bar was open so we said we could eat there. I immediately get the your reservation was canceled notice. It wasn't. We opted not to wait for a table. My wife complained and was told that was the only way they could do it so we waited for a table. Liked the food. Will be back.

Took my wife out for her birthday last night. Everything they served us was top shelf. The duck poutine, mixed mushroom tartine, and charred octopus were the hits of the evening.

I was particularly impressed with the mouthwateringly good mushroom tartine. I should note that I am a mushroom connoisseur and amateur mycologist who is tired of "wild mushroom" dishes that consist of ordinary white button mushrooms, cremini mushrooms, and portobello mushrooms-- all cultivars of Agaricus bisporus, and none of them wild. If you're lucky, cultivated shiitakes or oyster mushrooms might be included, which is better, but all too often, "wild mushroom" dishes are fraudulent. Not at littlefork. There were oyster mushrooms, which are tops for flavor in my book, and king trumpet mushrooms and beech mushrooms (shimeji) that gave it a firmer texture than your average mushroom dish. These are all cultivated too, but with their own delicious and different tastes and textures, and the restaurant bills them as "mixed" rather than "wild". A small thing, but one that speaks to their integrity and knowledge. I'd love to see what they could do with true wild species like porcini and morels when in season.

Prices are quite reasonable for the quality of food. Not much of a wine list, but the selections seem thoughtful and good value. We'll definitely return.

The food is too salty. The place was busy and the bar was a little overwhelmed. Our drinks arrived late and they were weird. They leave a door to the outdoor seating open. Though I had requested a warm table, it was drafty. The waiter had an attitude. It was Saturday night, but they were running behind.

A good 3.5 stars is where I'd go. Disappointed enough to keep from a 4.
Planned a B day brunch for a friend. Made reservations. We all checked the menu ahead as good foodies do.

The woman called me the night to confirm and I confirmed some dishes. She told me to check online and I let her know I did and she actually took extra time to ask and check.

Valet. Convenient. Expensive, it's Hollywood and there was construction and the valet was right there which was nice. Valets were pleasant enough.

Hostess. Extremely pleasant. Server- a bit abrupt. Had the nerve to tell an older woman we were dining with, "I already told her about the dish". Well, maybe the woman didn't hear. Obviously. Anyways, she wasn't super warm but moving on. Asked for Mussels. Not on menu I was told. I let her know I was assured they had them. My friend asked for a dish she was expecting and she was told they haven't had that in months. Well, fix your online menu as it was on there and we expected it. She said yeah well, we need to update......OK

I went to tell the hostess later we really expected mussels and checked last night. She said the chef could make them Game on!

Well, 2 dishes came out well.........2 came out wrong and not what were asked for. 2 of us waited. My mussels, the most expensive dish, were cold and gritty and fishy. I ate maybe 5 and sent them away. Told the busser. Server never asked.

We were charged for everything and the experience just wasn't good. There are so many great places and on a Sat at Noon- there is a reason this place isn't bustling. Bad service and hit or miss food.

I do have to say the hostess was the epitome of great service. Wish I could have tipped her

We had a nice meal there. Maybe not the best place to bring your parents who in their 70's/80's since they were unable (or unwilling?) to turn down the music and we were seated underwear the heating lamp where we were very, warm.

Our waiter was great though and the service was attentive.

The Brussel Sprouts were delicious!

I liked the tartines better than the entrees, but overall, I would not pay a full dinner price for tapas here. I feel like you can get the same quality for the same price with bigger portions elsewhere in the area.

For a group of 4, we ordered 2 tartines & 2 entree dishes, and it was enough to sustain us for a couple hours before our show. We got the salmon & burrata tartine, and both of them were delicious with good flavor combination. I liked that for a tartine, they still tried to pack it on and not skimp on the filling/topping. For the entree, we ordered the peppercorn steak & the pork belly. The perfectly cooked steak was juicy & tender, but much too salty. And the pork belly was a good chunk, but I wasn't a really big fan. You can tell they thought about how they would put each plate together mixing in the different flavors and textures, my only gripe would be their size relative to their price. I liked the tartines a lot better than the entrees, but I left wishing there was more food.

We were attracted by the novelty of Boston/Montreal menu since we love seafood. It was 7pm Sun, after a movie- not busy (one waiter serving entire area so service on slow side) yet already out of some items and menu rather limited- a share plate type concept. Big place so felt empty- outdoor section with softer lite had a cold tobacco odor and smoke filtered in from the street so we sat indoors. Of the two poutines (french fries with a fancy saucy topping) we had the one with shredded duck. Good. Oysters were delish and so was the smoked trout specialty. Best of all was the lobster roll which we also shared.

I'm something of a regular, having eaten at Littlefork many times since it opened two years ago. This was my second visit in three days, and both times the service was very bad. On the 14th, we were kept waiting for 10-15 minutes while a large table was being seated. I understood until I saw that the dining room was half-empty--why couldn't we have been seated sooner? On the 17th, our waitress abandoned us, oblivious to our attempts to flag her down and order. While it's true that we needed time to talk about a serious problem before deciding on an entree, I don't understand why she went AWOL. On the plus side, the food is reliably good. I hope that these problems will be addressed, because I'll be back--but not right away.

It's puzzles me how some brunch places in LA have huge lines and 1hr wait times. In almost every instance, the food is sub par and expensive. Not here. The brunch is amazing, the ingredients fresh and paired brilliantly. The drinks are well designed and mixed and the service is fantastic. Dinner is just as good. They also listen and accommodate your dining requests which is very much appreciated. This place is the neighbourhood gem. I don't have to go to Weho anymore for brunch. To top it all off, it's very reasonably priced. Great job guys!

Little fork has to be on your list to go eat. Several times. By far the best lobster sandwich I have ever had. The lobster meat is so tender it melts. I am from the east coast and now my seafood very well. This is the best lobster sandwich in Los Angeles. Hands down. Have to try the eggs. So fun and inventive. Whatever you order it will be delicious

I've eaten here once before but got take-away and I needed a restaurant to accommodate a large group of 8 last minute for a birthday without having to put a CC down for deposit. Littlefork showed up on OpenTable so I booked it and they were super accommodating! They allowed us to sit without our entire party present (which is rare in LA) and we had a large table in the center of the restaurant. We brought in a cake and they sliced it and brought it out for us as well. The atmosphere was lovely, staff was super friendly and the food was excellent! I loved all of it. Great for sharing, tapas style plates. The lobster roll is delicious! Would definitely go there again and will recommend to friends as well. They made my friend's bday extra special for sure. Two thumbs up!

Arrived on time for 8:30 reservation. Was told "kitchen was running behind" and to find a place at the bar. We find seats but have to search for menus.

Ordered two cocktails and took about 10 mins to get them - maybe too complex as the bars is small and there were two bartenders. One drink ("when a fire starts to burn") was decent and the other not so much.

Hostess came to tell us out table will be ready doo so we should settle the bill - but why can't they transfer? Paid, waited a bit more, then she comes to collect us. I am left to gather up coats and two drinks and am sloshing the drinks trying to follow her to the table. Another server sees my struggle and offers to help but honestly, why doesn't the hostess offer? In fact she never looks back and I catch up as we are being offered one of two tables in what appears to be a covered patio. It's not as nice as the dining room, and despite a few space heaters, it's cold. Seating is on thick benches.

Server arrives a few minutes later and he's enthusiastic but and tells us we should plan on 2-3 items per person. We ordered 4 total for two of us and could finish only three. Bursts was excellent. Chicken livers good; lobster roll not nearly as amazing as it was pitched and the other dish I forget. Overall, average. Dishes came out at different times but worked out fine, tho a bit slow.

Ordered a second round and changed my drink to servers most favorite..not much better. Just too much going on in these cocktails. All seem to be sweet/bitter/murky.

I don't remember being pitched dessert so nothing to add - we were too full anyway.

So, decently stylish room but undone by careless service and inconsistent food and drinks. Service was quite friendly but hostess in particular seemed to lack training.

I had the beautiful oysters, "flown in today." They were really wonderful. My husband ordered the chowder which he liked very much. We shared the duck poutine, which was addictively delicious. The fries stood up to the sauce and duck without getting too soggy. My husband also ordered the chicken cataplana. Also very good. The wine I had was great and so was my husband's drink.

I would definitely eat there again.

I'd heard such great things, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the food itself. The maple eggs were cute but really belong on a breakfast menu...the heirloom tomato salad was unmemorable...the steak tartare was good as was the smoked brisket, even though it was a bit too salty. They were out of the lobster roll, which was a disappointment... The drinks were interesting, but honestly, not too tastey. By far, the highlight of the evening was actually our outstanding server (Candy?).

I am crazy about the menu, service, & cocktails here. All around, this place is one of our top finds in Los Angeles. Think of it as American New England Elevated. We had smoked trout, oysters, a tomato and burata salad, as well as a beat and goat cheese salad. The duck poutine we had is the best I've ever eaten - and I've had a few poutines in my day. The happy hour menu at the bar is also terrific if you just want to stop in for a cocktail and oysters. The bartenders are always very polite and will talk over any of their drinks with you - as long as they are not slammed with orders.
Can't say enough good things about this place.

LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. the waiter service was excellent. so informative - very open and friendly and accommodating. We had to rush to a Pantages show afterwards and he timed our courses perfectly. The ambience is chill - not too loud but loud enough where you can still feel the life of the city outside. Dimly lit so feels like you are taking a breather to enjoy a good old fashioned and GREAT food. My husband who very rarely eats fish (meat and potatoes guy) couldn't say enough about the trout dish - which the waiter recommended. we are coming back next week (for another Pantages Show) and to try out more of the Chef's pics - the menu had at least a half dozen more interesting sounding entrees.

Food was very good. The chowder was as good if not better than what you will find on East Coast. Definitely will go back to try other items
