About Little Venice Restaurant
Welcome to the home of Binghamton's original Italian eatery, Little Venice Restaurant. Since 1946, Little Venice has been serving authentic Italian dishes to Greater Binghamton. Little Venice prides itself on its original family recipes, specializing in homemade pasta, a variety of Italian and American entrées and most notably our famous homemade tomato sauce. The sauce recipe is a guarded family secret only known to 3 people.

The food was not hot. The cheese on top of the entrees was not hot/melting, rather, it had the firm texture as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The reservation asked if for a special occasion, which it was, and indicated as such, yet there was no mention of it by the server, no small dessert described or offered- what was the point of asking? A positive aspect was that we did ask for a table with a bit of extra space to accommodate a guest, and the location of the table was spacious. Also appreciate the ability to make a reservation.
We were traveling through Binghamton and stopped for the night. The hotel attendant recommended little Venice. It was exactly what we wanted -- nothing fussy, but really good pasta. It was very casual so we didn't feel out of place in our traveling clothes (blue jeans and sweaters.). The pasta was great and the sauce was also very good. Service was okay, what one would expect in a large, busy Italian place. Overall it was a good place for an everyday meal.
There were seven of us who dined at the Little Venice on Sunday evening. My meal, Chicken Cacciatore, was terrible! One of the guests had a veal dish which was tough with too much garlic. The other meals were mediocre at best. If was very disappointing experinece for our group.
Even with a reservation we had to wait for a table but it was well worth the wait! We enjoyed the authentic Italian cuisine. The portions were reasonable. The prices were moderate. The extensive art collection gave the impression of dining in the middle of an art gallery and added a very enjoyable twist to dining out. We plan to visit again soon.
We went to Little Venice to celebrate our daughters 25th birthday. It was the second time we have been there and we have not been disappointed either time. The food is great, the waitress was friendly and attentive and they even put a candle in our daughters dessert! Great place to go when in Binghamton.
We were celebrating our 26th anniversary last weekend and we heard great things about Little Venice! I made reservations online which was very user friendly! We got there 1/2 hour early and we ordered a drink at the bar which was very cozy. It was a Saturday night and very busy. We did not have to wait more than 10 minutes for our table. The prices are very reasonable, service was wonderful and the food was authentic and delicious. We live in Marathon NY and it was definitely worth the 30 mile drive. We will be recommending this place to all our friends and family!
Found this dining experience thanks to OpenTable, as our first visit to Binghamton (ever) as part of a weekend night away to enjoy the fall colors. Classic, classic, classic Italian restaurant with much history, great decor and atmosphere, and an outstanding menu of staple Italian American cuisine. I stayed healthy with Whole Wheat Penne in a "build your own" pasta meal with several toppings which was very good. Carol had the Chicken Cutlet Parm which she commented was very good, and a generous portion. The fried Mozzarella appetizer was very tasty, and the desserts were simple (portion) and robust (flavor). Our waitress (Meagan) was fantastic, very friendly and provided great table service.
We may make a habit of traveling north in the Fall, and if we stop in Binghamton again will most certainly return to Little Venice.
Our first visit here. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. Tables are small for the size of the dishes and bread basket, etc. Service was excellent. Bread was nothing special and not warm. Salad OK. Pasta quantity was huge for 1/2 order but good with very good sauce. Meat log also OK. I've had better meatballs elsewhere. Chicken parm was very good. Overall good meal and service.
I have gone to your restrauant since a child. My father, Louis Villecco, made and delivered ricotta, provolone and moz. to your restrauant for years. You have always been my family's favorite. My son came home for a few days and his first choice was Little Venice. Great food and great service.
Great food as usual, but service was not good. It took us nearly an hour to get our entrees (very simple dishes). They must have had a big backup in the kitchen because the waitress was reasonably prompt. She stopped by a couple of times to tell us our food would be right out, but it wasn’t, and when it did come, it was delivered by one of the table busboys and not our waitress. Overall, disappointing.
We had 8:30pm reservations over parents weekend at Binghamton University. This was the only time slot available when making them about a week prior. When we walked in and saw the place almost empty, that should have been our first clue. The hostess sat us without menus. The waiter came over to take our drink order, but did not hand us any menus, and walked away before I could ask. The manager (I'm assuming) came by a few minutes later to ask if our waiter had arrived, and I asked him for menus, which he promptly delivered.
The waiter was a college aged kid, and obviously wanted to be anywhere other than at work. We felt like we were bothering him.
For an Italian restaurant, the pasta was all overcooked and bland. My daughter's fettuccine alfredo sauce was separating. My eggplant parmesan was soggy. Nothing tasty about any of it.
Overall a complete waste of time and money. I will never go back.
This was a 4-5 star rated restaurant. We were not impressed. The fried calamari (they pronounced it a CALA-MARY) when they brought to table we thought were fried onion rings. They are famous for their "meat logs" which wouldn't be bad if they were not deep fried. The sauce was more of a chunky ketchup. We should have walked out when we walked in and smelled the carpet.
Everything was great. Our server was very pleasant, but seemed overwhelmed and didn’t get to our table very often. The food was fantastic. I’ve been out of the state for the last three years and it was a pleasant surprise to see all the changes. Love the brighter and more open dining room. The face lift was great, but the food is the same - and I mean that in a good way!
Our experience was horrible. We got sitted at the table close to the bar our server showed up a while latter. He was not a professional at all. I asked him to bring me a sample of two wines because we wanted to order a bottle and didn't know anything about wines listed on the menu. He said that the wines are not by the glass and he can't do that and when I showed him that it was by the glass he went and got it and his comment was that the wine is to expensive to taste it like that. We ended up ordering a bottle he came back with the bottle and warm wet glasses??? He asked us if we are ready to order and he continued to tell us that before we order we need to know what the restaurant is out of... and it was eight items. Wow we were shocked because this was excactly what we wanted. We ended up ordering anyway we had eggplant , chicken with tomatoes and some kind of pasta and I just can tell that all of our dishes WERE NOT EDABLE, eggplant was undercooked, pasta had no taste and undercooked and chicken was... I can't even find a word to describe it. It was hard, felt like the chicken was boiled a couple of times before and had this brown crust on It swimming in diced tomatoes this dish had obsolutly no taste and I lost my appetite after a first bite. I bever had such an experience and decently will never come back or recommend this restaurant to anybody. I think any diner in town does a better job.
Our first trip almost two years ago was to explore SUNY Binghamton. We ate here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now as our daughter enters as a freshman, we had to visit again while we were here. And just as we remembered from our first visit, very good food and service. I just wish we bought some sauce to take home with us.
The "famous" sauce was way too sweet. The famous "meat logs" were sausage-shaped meatballs, that seem like they were boiled. My son, on his last meal before college, had the chicken cacciatore...so dry we had to return it. Best thing about this meal was the decent price for a bottle of wine.
