My mom told them it was my birthday and they didn't do anything at the end of the meal. Not sure if our waitress wasn't told or if they forgot. I also entered Birthday when I made reservations. :(
We really enjoyed everything. Keep up the good work.
The whole experience was wonderful we really enjoyed everything could have had a little more season but still was good.
Authentic Cajun cuisine plus. Very good wait service but entrees were a little slow to be delivered (staff also recognized this and made efforts to accommodate our party). Some of the featured fish dishes of the sister restaurant (Poor Boy Riverside) in Broussard are not available at this site but that was understood reading the online menu before arrival. The oysters on the half shell were a fresh and delicious appetizer (highly recommended). I would not hesitate to return here on another occasion. All the dishes ordered were heartily enjoyed by our party.
Birthday celebration in private room. 9 people.
We were a larger group in a private room and the service was great. Larson was our server and he did a great job! The food was great too!
From being told that we couldn't have any bread because there weren't any baskets available to repeatedly forgetting items / being ignored to being served pasta that was heavily coated with powdered oregano, this restaurant was a disappointment. At the end, a hostess asked us about the experience, and when told that there were a lot of little things that were frustrating, all she could muster was an "I'm sorry." It was especially disappointing considering the price of the meal, which was on the high side. On a good note, the two items we ordered that had crab came with a good amount of crab, which was delicious. Those two items are the only things that save this from being a one-star review.
New Iberia is a lovely small town and no one should expect an experience comparable to a larger city. This is the best place in town ((and food, while inconsistent, was fine. Shrimp remoulade was not very good - shrimp were a bit tough and sauce had little taste; one of us had baked flounder that was excellent; other had crabmeat stuffed bell peppers that were OK. Server failed to bring bread until asked for it and wait for food was a bit long - seemed a group was dining in a special room. Ordering a bottle of wine seemed a strange event here and it took a bit of work to have it ordered and delivered. We had no room for dessert. I am from New Orleans and always think all food in Cajunland is wonderful. Little River is worth a visit for food other than fried and a menu with interesting choices.
The lunch portion of the seafood salad was chock full of fresh boiled shrimp, lump crab meat, chopped eggs, diced bacon, fresh tomatoes, a little red onion and a fabulously light dressing. Miss Nelda took great care of me and my crew. A very nice local find right off the main drag in New Iberia.
The Crab Platter was very good. The stuffed crab could have tasted better. (not enough crabmeat in it)
The Crawfish Bisque is not quite up to snuff. Needs more seafood flavor.
However, the green salad with their Thousand Island dressing is always 5 stars.
I had a fried shrimp and oyster dinner. Everything was soooo good. The only complaint I had was the breading on the oysters. I love cornbread breading on oysters. These oysters had more of a flour breading for shrimp. It was a little too thick also. Other than that one little thing, the whole experience was great.
Waitress never introduced herself, never asked how the food was and was overall extremely poor.
Stuffed crabs were excellent. 3 instead of the usual 2. I go here for the crab dishes...sauté, au gratin and stuffed are the best in area.
Enjoyed the quiet time and friendly atmosphere. Will be back to dine. Keep it up. Food was fabulous.
It was a very nice dining experience. Service, food and atmosphere just what we were looking for.
Our waitress was very helpful even though she was new. You can tell she was experienced and if she didn't know the answer she asked someone. We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary there and everything was wonderful, the food, service and atmosphere. I had the crab cake and my husband had the Cajun shrimp pasta. They were excellent.
I always love visiting the Little River Inn each time I am in New Iberia. Everything I have ordered has always been good, and I love that they take reservations.
