About
Had a fantastic brunch at LRW....the shishito peppers and brisket/hatch chile pepper dumplings tasted really awesome. The crispy chicken sandwich was perfect. Everything very fairly priced and the staff were very friendly and attentive, but not over the top. Bloody Mary for brunch was really spicy....just as I asked for! Thank you and we'll be back.....
Food very good
Very noisy
Bathroom situation unbearable with only two bathrooms set up for single use
The attentiveness of the waiters, the quality of the ingredients, and the overall pleasurable experience leave little doubt that LRW is the younger sibling of Grace. The featured beers were were fantastic and our waiter was spot-on in his recommendations. The popcorn shrimp, deviled eggs, and brisket potstickers were all worthy of many return trips and the chips and dip could easily be a weekly treat. I will return to LRW as soon as possible.
Awesome service and great attention to special dietary needs.
Little Red Wasp has been one of my go to restaurants for brunch or lunch. This past Sunday, 3 of us went for brunch (out of town guest). I use a walker and the lift was broken so had to maneuver the stairs. The restaurant was absolutely full so the noise level was so high it was difficult to have a conversation. I realize being full is good and you probably have no way to control the noise level, but will consider this next time we think about going. My food was very good (Crispy Chicken) but others in the party thought food was not up to par. The hamburger bun was so big and the little tiny patty just made every bite mostly bread. Also someone ordered the Reuben and thought it was mostly coleslaw versus corned beef. I do want to acknowledge the service which was very good. Our server continued to check on us. The hostess at the front was genuinely concerned about my getting up the stairs and helped me with my walker, my coat, etc. both on entering and exiting. We will give Little Red Wasp another try, maybe during the week and after the normal lunch hour.
Great casual dinner. Perfect location right across from the Hilton
Nice option, situated within walking distance of several much more expensive places. Very good selection of beers.
I have been to this place several times with friends. This place never disappoints.
Great service by Kenny! Will definitely be back!
Mac and cheese, shrimp and grits and fried chicken were outstanding. We weren't crazy about dessert there either time we've gone (an ice cream sundae needs a brownie!). Overall it's a fun place to go once or twice.
I loved everything about my first time at Little Red Wasp! The food was timely and tasted amazing and presentation was delightful. I loved the open kitchen, staff, and menu!
The menu was small and quaint, much like this cozy eatery. The food was tasty. We spent New Year's Eve dinner here. The service from the front host and manager was superb, our waiter was not great. Not sure if he was overwhelmed or just over the night but he did not pay attention to our table. Long wait in between the greet and being able to place our order. Still had a lovely experience.
Great little spot. Service a bit off, but not enough to offend. Ruben was excellent, Brussel sprouts was awesome, creamed corn good, would pass on the blackened fish - too much seasoning not enough favor. Overall - solid B+
We had a group of eight on New Year's Eve. The service was fantastic and the food was good. I will definitely go back.
Great food small menu though not a lot of choices but fantastic venue food and staff
Food was ok. Lacked balance. One note flavors.
Really good food, especially the fried chicken sandwich with slaw, the brisket pot stickers, and the cinnamon-sugar coated donut holes. Everything was fresh and prices reasonable
Lunch. Chef understands combining flavors to accent the main ingredient. Really excellent sandwiches
Simple menu with great options.
Great service! Good food & family friendly.
Food was pretty good. Basil kids drink was excellent!
Service was not good at all.
Fun place to eat - food value is great - service is always excellent
Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn't extremely busy when my wife and I got there, but it was busy by the time we left. Unfortunately, I left with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth from a dish that had been served lukewarm, tepid if you will. The dish in question was the shrimp and grits, which costs $22. At that price, the dish should be served piping hot, with steam radiating up from the food. Unfortunately, that dish put a damper on what had been a decent meal. The happy hour specials are hard to beat: $4 apps and drinks. But the shrimp and grits left a lot to be desired in terms of taste and temperature
Lovely atmosphere. Modern diner chic. Service was welcoming and helpful. Food was delicious. Date would have enjoyed more vegan options, but she was grateful they had some at all. The grilled shishito peppers were divine. I recommend the corned beef hash. She thought the portobello sandwich was one of the best she's had. Bloody Mary's were spicy, but average. Overall, it's a great place and worth a visit.
The wonderful menu and ambiance made this a great dining experience.
Very enjoyable experience, will definitely go again. Everything we ordered was delicious and our server was outstanding. Valet at Capital Grille was convenient too, especially since it was raining.
Overall experience was Excellent! Food and service was Fantastic!!
Unfortunately, our poor service overshadowed what could have been an otherwise fun gathering after the annual Parade of Lights. Our server was inattentive and unable to fulfill simple requests for condiments like ketchup for French Fries. Little Red Wasp has the space and modern design aesthetic that we appreciate, however, the subpar service is something that can't be overlooked.
Hamburger patty is a little small. Chicken biscuit is the winner at brunch. Great homemade chips. Good local beer selection.
This place was really good when it first opened. The menu changed seasonally, and I felt the higher prices were warranted.
I went with a group of 6 for brunch and the place was pretty empty. The menu hadn't changed since the previous year. The juices were no longer fresh-squeezed and the cocktail variety was limited.
I didn't feel paying $16 for a single biscuit, 2 eggs and a splash of gravy was warranted. All way too salty as well.
The waiter acted like his dog had just been shot.
I won't be back.
If you're looking for a fun place that is small and delicious, go to The Little Red Wasp. They have a great bar area while waiting on your table or for happy hour. The food is continuously very good. This trip we had the fried chicken sandwich, blackened catfish and the deviled eggs. All were right on point. If you like something a little spicy then the chicken sandwich is a great choice. The cabbage slaw with jalapeños makes this sandwich spicy and the tender fried chicken gives it an even balance. The deviled eggs are creamy and made the old fashioned way. The spicy dill pickles on top give it that special something. The blackened catfish was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The creamed corn and fresh cooked spinach completed the dish in every way.
A gem of a restaurant in the DFW area and highly recommend everyone try it. Traveling to Ft. Worth for a day of museum visits and wanted a place for brunch. Did a little browsing on the internet and found this place thought the menu sounded interesting and was proven correctly. The food was outstanding. The chicken and biscuit w/pepper gravy was scrumptious (a massive piece of chicken which was beyond delectable (I'm not a huge chicken fan) and massive gave ½ away and still remained satisfied). The Bloddy Mary (though small) was delicious and the hot pickles outrageously delicious, Tommy our waiter was outstanding being both friendly and approachable with a nice sense of humor.
Great happy hour. Great food. Very pleasant staff!!!!!
The potato chips were outstanding, I highly recommend this as an appetizer. The grits were runny but had good flavor. The rib dish was tender but tasted more like a roast and not a rib. The service could not be better even when the customer count increased.
The Little Red Wasp lived up to it's reputation as being one of the Top 10 Brunch spots in Fort Worth. We tried a lot of different appetizers and different brunch entrees since we were a large group. Some of the winners included the Deviled Eggs, the Short Rib Eggs Benedict and the Brisket Pot Stickers. With the exception of the Eggs Benedict, everything was around $14 or less. All of the Brunch entrees were really large portions, especially the Chilaquiles which could easily feed two people. Great restaurant, great location and great food!
I wanted to give this place a higher rating but we had terrible service while we were there. Went on a Saturday for brunch and it took forever to even get water and order drinks when we sat down. We had to flag down the manager in order to get addressed. Once we ordered our drinks, it took forever to get them. Could see them sitting on the bar without being picked up by our waitress for over 15 minutes. So we sat at the table for close to 30 minutes without even getting our first round of drinks. We had to order our second round when we got our first, which was a good call because we got in just when we were finishing.
The food is great and the restaurant is cute, but nothing is worse than poor service. Hope our experience was an anomaly.
We visited Little Red Wasp for the first time based on positive reviews and convenience (we were going to a performance at Bass Hall). It was a Tuesday night, and we were running late for our reservation in rush-hour traffic from Dallas, so we called to let them know. No problem; we soon found out that it was a very quiet night at the restaurant. Our server, Kenneth, could not have been better. We were right under the wire for happy hour pricing but ended up with not one, but two, drinks and an app for happy hour pricing. Popcorn shrimp was outstanding (hot, fresh, surprisingly generous), as were the Reuben and Crispy Chicken sandwiches we had for dinner. We were celebrating my birthday, and Kenneth brought out the biggest ice cream sundae I've ever seen. Three huge scoops of ice cream in a soup bowl with extra chocolate sauce on the side. A really nice touch. The valet guys even helped us out, as we were running later than we had hoped for the performance. Overall, a stellar experience. We'll definitely come back when we're in Fort Worth.
Great food and outstanding service. Will definitely return.
Great place to eat! The food is great! The service was very good. They have some local beer on tap. The Rueben Sandwich was fantastic. Very nice place in Downtown Fort Worth that won't break your wallet.
Had a great time with a fun friend!
Food was delicious, especially the ribs and brussels sprouts!
