Egg plant parmigiana was unedible.
Two slabs of heavily bartered deep fried eggplant with very little sauce and mozzarella
The restaurant manager was outstanding... the only good thing about the place.
Will not return.
We were delighted to have visited Little Nonna's for the first time. From start to finish, everything was ravishingly delicious. We are so happy to have found a superb option for pre-concert dining and can't wait to return! Eggplant appetizer was amazing.... Lamb pasta glorious. Olive oil pound cake to die for.
The ambiance at Little Nonna's is delightful. Although the noise level can at times be a bit high, the flowing wine and pasta make it worth it. Sit outside if you can, order some garlic bread and pasta with tomato sauce!
Dining out for Life
Food is always good, staff is efficient & friendly. A comfortable relaxed atmosphere1
Good friendly service. Waiter very knowledgeable. Hostess very accommodating to our needs. Tables too close together.
I really enjoyed Little Nonna's. The food was very good: I got the Tonnarelli Nero and my boyfriend got the Sunday Gravy. Portions were good sized and came out with good timing. We split the garlic bread and that was to die for. Lots of garlic! We sat outside and despite the cold evening, were not cold at all. The garden set up is great with the covering and the heat lamps.
The food and service are always outstanding. The ambiance is great
Little Nonna's never disappoints. The pasta is always perfectly al dente, the sauces are as good as my Italian grandmothers' (I do NOT say that lightly), and the service is always very good. It is a small place, so I recommend getting reservations!
First time... Loved it! Will return soon.
The meal was excellent - I had the fish entree and a salad. One thing I really appreciated was that it can out HOT. Everything done to perfection - taste, presentation and value!
Can you use Banging as an adjective??
Excellent food and service, would definitely come back.
The menu is highly curated with excellent dishes - but you must get the spaghetti and meatballs - it's THE BEST! Simple yet delicious and perfect to share with two people.
Delicious food. The gnocchi were like little fluffy clouds.
We enjoyed our meal at Little Nonna's, especially the gem lettuce Caesar with the polenta croutons. The eggplant parmigiana could have used some more tomato sauce, and the tonnarelli tasted good but having to peel the shrimp tails from the shrimp was an inconvenience. We would have ordered coffee and dessert, but the server waited too long to follow up with us, and we had theater tickets. Still, a good meal and a pleasant setting.
Great service , great food & loved the atmosphere.
It's a little restaurant inside with small outdoor seating, which is semi covered and heated with propane furnaces.
Charming little restaurant. Loved the eggplant and the ambience.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend!
Authentic Italian meal with plenty of flavor. Great service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
The service was very basic and at times even uncomfortable. The food was also basic overall and not what we hoped for.
As with all Turney/Safran restaurants, menu was great and food excellent. Nice ambiance in the “courtyard” but it can get loud, especially if there is a large and socially clueless group at the big center table.
It is a very nice restaurant just not right for us. The staff was extremely pleasant. Alcoholic beverages are limited and so is the menu. We each had a cocktail but did not stay for dinner.
Amazing, will go again and again. The food was fantastic, great atmosphere and all around would recommend.
Located at 12th and Locust and an easy walk east of Broad St. This is a cozy authentic Italian restaurant with large portions, delicious selections and garlic bread! We ordered the spaghetti and meat balls (1 order to feed my entire family of 5), 2 orders of the garlic bread appetizer, the lamb special, the mushroom arancini, chicken al mattone, and some wine. Needless to say, this meal was excellent. Service was ready and frequent. We celebrated my wife's birthday and had a bit of dessert to share. Lovely place that is not too formal but a relaxing night out with my family! I would go here again!
Excellent. Everything done perfectly. Had Caesar salad, antipasto platter, gnocchi, and bronzino. Looking forward to dining here again
Being Italian, the "Sunday Gravy" was a bit overpriced, but the other items on the menu were fantastic. We sat out back on the patio and the heaters were quite comfortable.
Growing up in an Italian family, I'm a bit of snob about Italian food. Little Nonna's was exceptional. Don't tell them, but the arancini were better than my grandmother's, and the meatballs were better than my mother's. (Thankfully neither of them use OpenTable!) They also have a nice selection of Italian wines, including a hard-to-find red from Sicily that is one of my favorites. Just a few blocks from all the Philly theaters so this will definitely be our new go-to pre-theater dinner spot. YUM!
I liked Little Nonna’s, but since Im from NYC its just doesn’t standout. I had the penna a la vodka, it was quite good and my famiily tried the shrimp dish that came with a black pasta heavily soaked in garlic. They didnt like it and mostly ate the shrimp. I thought the server seemed overwhelmed or just didnt really show any warmth, caring or interest in us. Very clinical and serious. The place is small and tight and has charm
Food was excellent Would definitely return
Great authentic feeling old school Italian with some fun twists... Good service and everything was really tasty
Great food as always. Love this place.
Food was excellent
As usual, Little Nonna's was wonderful. Great food, excellent service, really cute server (guy). Nice and warm on a cold and raw Sunday.
Food was just ok, we ordered gnocchi and spaghetti/meatballs . Both dishes were very bland! Was not impressed.
Only wish was the menu was larger. The portions are MASSIVE and the food is great. Great service, wonderful time. Would go again!
Great time celebrating birthday lunch - love the intimate small venue!
Lovely waitress/ Orin’s great value. Each item we ordered was delicious
