Little Nonna’s is an Italian-American eatery in Center City’s bustling Midtown Village. Inspired by the “red sauce” family-owned ristorantes of Italian immigrants, Chef Turney offers thoughtful interpretations of homestyle Italian-American dishes with an all-Italian wine list and handcrafted cocktails. The cozy 40-seat restaurant is evocative of an Italian grandmother’s living room, circa 1950, featuring vintage lace in the windows, hanging antique copper pots and an outdoor garden that seats an additional 40 guests.

Way too salty! Would go back but I will not because of how much salt they use. The chef should stop smoking so he can taste.

A real gem, the pasta was delicious and the ambiance was something I did not expect to find in this part of Philly.

We had a very nice meal. It is hard to choose what to order because everything described sounds delicious. And our neighbors' food looked excellent, too. I am a huge fan of eggplant part, so even though it was only available as an appetizer, I chose that, a caesar salad and dessert. There was way more breading than veggie, so was disappointed. The salad was interesting. The croutons are friend squares of polenta- -fabulous- - and there is broccollini in the salad, which was a fun surprise. The dressing was bland, though. Needed more garlic, anchovies, or at least, salt. My friend ordered pasta and meatballs. A huge portion and a a good sauce. It was a rich tomato sauce and the meatballs are made with B,V, and P. A good ratio because you can really taste all three. It was really good. Spectacular? No. But really good grandma kitchen hearty food. You feel pretty healthy with a stick to your rib meal from here. No complaints about the service. The hostess was especially friendly and welcoming.

I love everything about this place. Inside is nice and cozy, courtyard is fantastic, too. Feels authentic, nothing trendy..yay.
(Indoors is quieter than their courtyard.)

I have wanted to dine at Little Nonna's for several years, & finally I made it there. It more than lived up to its reputation -- tasty, tasty, TASTY Italian food. A friendly & attentive waiter, a charming room, & that amazing food -- I will be back again soon.

Service via our hipster waiter was average at best. He seemed to care little about actually pleasing us and repeatedly uttered a noncommittal, "Sure" to just about everything we asked. Unfortunately, he messed up our order and we had to ask the manager to straighten things out on our bill. Food was good but not great. The gnocchi in particular was disappointing. A little rubbery and the sauce was meh. The bronzino was prepared well and had excellent flavor. Turned out to be our favorite dish. Everyone around us seemed to be ordering the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was definitely "grandmotherly." The meatballs -- stuffed with Italian meat and cheese -- were tasty at first but were a little much after a while. Still, people seemed to really like them. We sat in the courtyard, which was nice. Fans were blowing in our faces until we asked our inattentive waiter to shift them. All in all, the place didn't quite seem to live up to its billing.

Excellent evening for a friend meetup. Busy. Great server who was willing to make menu recommendations (love that!). Good rose wine! My friend had grilled shrimp with black pasta that she loved. I enjoyed perfect sized dish of homemade penne vodka with sausage. We shared an olive oil cake with lemon zest. It was a rainy night and this all felt perfect. The place was very busy.

Although our server was not attentive, due to it being a busy night I suppose, the busser was extremely accommodating, friendly and took the time to explain our dishes to us. The hostess was also extremely friendly, and we felt very welcomed as soon as we walked in. The food was phenomenal, definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to leave feeling stuffed. Hats off to the kitchen, chefs, front of house, and servers (except ours)!!!!

It started pouring rain just as we finished paying the check at the outside patio. Loved the overall experience, but perhaps our waitress could have asked whether we wanted to stay for one more drink since the rain wasn't going to be letting up any time soon.

OMG! The only negatives I have: no expresso machine, too much dressing on the Caesar salad, and they could have left the raspberry sauce off the Panna cotta (so you could taste its wonderfulness ). BUT many more positives, including the service, the ambience,, and the authenticity. Had some of the best pasta ever: can't remember the name but it was garlic shrimp and squid ink pasta with fennel and saffron, blistered cherry tomatoes. Don't forget the garlic bread!!! The best! And served with a full head of oven roasted garlic. I came close to going into a food coma;-) Highly recommend over a large chain restaurant. Very cozy with super service. Lovely surprise!

We ate here on a Saturday night during weekend visit to Philly. It is very small inside, dark and tables crowded together, so loud if crowded. Seated right away but took a while for any one to wait on us, very attentive after that. Limited menu, food is very good, authentic regional Italian. Servings were huge, we would have shared an entrée if had realized that ahead of time. People were going through a door to garden area in back, would have like to sit back there if had known about it.

What a nice place. Good food and great service. Chef offered some interesting variations on classic italian dishes. The Chef preserved the essential heritage of the dish but offered his/her own enhancements. The garlic bread is a good example. It comes with a head of oven-roasted garlic. What a nice upgrade to traditional garlic bread. Prices are very fair for a major city and the quality of the food.

I was so disappointed in this restaurant. It came so HIGHLY recommended. The NOISE level was atrocious. I could not hear my companion across the table. I asked the server to lower the music and was looked at like I was from another planet. I will NEVER EVER go back there.

Fabulous experience in the courtyard. Three of us shared three dishes to start then three entrees. We had fresh share plates and silverware. Plenty of table space and attentive service keeping us tidy. We weren’t rushed, our glasses were kept full. Again, fabulous.
