About

Started more than 20 years ago by two families recently arrived from northern India, the Little India Restaurant Downtown in Denver, CO has become a local institution. Continually receiving "best of" awards, it is a restaurant that specializes in the use of fresh and seasonal ingredients prepared to perfection.

A full drinks menu ensures that your visit to Little India Restaurant Downtown is jolly and fun, but it is the food that will inspire. Appetizers range from unusual choices like onion bhaji and jaipuri samosa. There are lovely fresh soups and salads, but the real showpiece of any meal at Little India Restaurant Downtown is the tandoor dishes that arrive in the clay oven hot from the stove.

The food was good, but not worth the long wait to get it! If the food had been extraordinary, I probably would not have cared about the long wait as much. But it was pretty average and I won't go back again. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We located this restaurant on Open Table and chose it when visiting Denver. The food and service were outstanding--including my dinner of Chicken Teca Masala (sp?). All in our party enjoyed our meal (dinner) and raved about the food and service, even in comparing it to other Indian restaurants in other cities!

We had a 7:30 start time for the Symphony and since it is across the street assumed checking in at Little India at 6:15 was good. Our waitress was great and kept saying it would be soon but our food (which is always delicious) showed up at 7:03. We gobbled what we could in 12 minutes and since we didn't have time to put leftovers in the car, we just left them. The food we could eat was great but a very disappointing dining experience.

Good little spot for Indian food. I actually prefer the location on Grant St, but this one gets the job done. Love their naan!

We were going to a downtown concert and decided to a hotel for the night. My wife was starving at 2:00 and was craving Indian food. We found the Little India restaurant only two blocks from our hotel. It was excellent! My favorite was the Lamb Madras, one of their specialties. We had them amp up the heat. It was yummy. They have and extensive menu, great Tandoori dishes and a decent wine selection for an Indian restaurant. Since we went so early we boxed up good portions of leftovers and went back to the hotel for a nap before the concert. We didn't eat dinner but rather munched on the leftovers with a nice bottle of wine after the concert. A great way to do a concert.

Not only is the take out amazing, the dine in experience is wonderful. The food is always great and the service was spot on. Just enough attention without hovering. Every time I have been here (or ordered in) the experience has been fantastic!

Before a CSO concert, I wanted to take a friend to an Indian restaurant. She who is vegan but hadn't eaten at an Indian restaurant before. Found Little India on OpenTable. Very nice place with good food. Not fancy and inexpensive. Will probably return.

The food was exquisite. In addition to classic Indian dishes they had some specialities that were Greek and middle-eastern inspired. The overall menu prices were a good value; however, the special menu offerings that we ordered (a vegetarian thali and the lamb patties), were over-priced in comparison to the rest of the menu.

Love Indian food but this was mediocre. The bhuna was so so, not a lot of flavor. The vindaloo was the same, not at all spicy and rather so so. The Cheese Naan was great. Probably won't go back.
