Little India on 6th Avenue is a popular Indian restaurant with unique specialties and cocktails. To the delight of hungry patrons, the open kitchen allows the scents of the food being cooked to waft through the dining room. Little India is the definition of a local favorite, having been voted "Best Lunch Buffet" and "Best Restaurant" by local publications that polled both critics and patrons. It also offers takeout and delivery if diners can't come in and sit down.
Little India's award-winning lunch buffet is the perfect opportunity for guests to come in and try a little bit of everything on the menu. Specialties include items baked in the clay oven (tandoori) and several made-from-scratch curry dishes. Little India's desserts are also made fresh, including the bright and tangy mango custard.
Fabulous food with great service! A wonderful evening!
Love trying new culture and different foods and explore many new flavors and spices and this place was a great experience
Tandoori shrimp was a big disappointment: overcooked shrimp, little flavor.
Basmati lamb was good but the lamb was dry.
Chicken Tikka Masala and eggplant dish were both excellent.
Food was great. Had a couple little kiddos behind us that were a little loud, but it was an overall, great experience. We’ll be back.
Great Indian food and fun restaurant week outing. We got a lot of food for $35 total. Staff was friendly and food. And out quickly.
We went on a Saturday night. It was crowded with very little room for waiting.
The waiting area was by the bathrooms and trash and not pleasant. The bar is not accessible as this is the take out/pick up area. The table on the porch area was ok and the server was quite nice but the Chardonnay was not cold. I would recommend the Downing location.
Even though we booked our reservation well in advance, they didn't have anyones reservations taken down. Despite not having anyones reservations, they were still able to seat us quickly, even on a busy day. Great food!!
Love the food and service here. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is not very.
This wasn't their night. Busy. Sat at 6pm. We had received our appetizer and beverages about 6:15. Plates were placed in front of us around 6:30. This seemed like a good sign. We asked the waiter about our food around 6:40 and we still didn't have our entrees by 6:55 when we had to take the food to go to rush off to a theater performance. The food was still good tasting when we ate it at 9:30 that night after our show.
Really nice vibe at this place with great staff and food presentation!
Delicious food and big portions. It took some time to get fed, but worth it.
The food here is always excellent. I ordered the chickpea masala and my husband had the lamb vindaloo. When the masala arrived, it was made with a large amount of cilantro, and, unfortunately, I am deathly allergic to it. I have had several other masalas that did not include cilantro and I never thought to ask. I explained my situation to our waiter, who offered to replace the meal. They were able to make the same dish, without any cilantro. I offered to pay for the dish since we were going to take it home for my son, but they insisted to take the price of the original dish off the tab. Great service, and, in our future visits, I will remember the words of our waiter who said "the kitchen sometimes gets excited about using cilantro in many dishes" and request a meal without the cilantro.
Nice restaurant just south of downtown Denver. Good authentic Indian food. Service was a bit slow but it was a Saturday night during a holiday. I would recommend this restaurant if you want good Indian food.
Good service and ambiance, but I was not very impressed with my meal overall.
Took my daughter here for a quick lunch between her classes. Like most we did a buffet. She's a Vegetarian (again...) and there are lots of great options. Everything I had was very good and the service was outstanding, especially for a buffet. If they had a lamb dish available on the buffet I would love it even more.
The waiters were friendly and numerous, to a point that he checked my mom's silly question with a swift and respectful response that erupted the entire table in laughter.
I have eaten here so many times and have never been disappointed!
I went there for a birthday celebration expecting the normal boring restaurant experience.
To the contrary, the staff was a little better than perfect, the food was absolutely delicious and the diner's at the other tables were great to the birthday boy and made it one of, if not the best times I've had, from start to finish. The waiter even came to tell me my car was about to be towed so that even made a potential nightmare ending that much better!!! I recommend you go at least once and I'm confident you will return.
I had saag paneer, and my friend had a vegetable curry. Both were excellent.
The service is very friendly and helpful. Their food is tasty and delicious.
Great casual restaurant for any occasion.
This restaurant was recommended to me and I have to say that it was as good as I was told! My server(s) were knowledgeable and able to recommend dishes that were perfect for me. I've already told several other people and will be going back again myself in the near future!
If you enjoy Indian food like I do, this is the place to come for lunch or dinner. Don't miss it.
D
Server sold us on a very nice bottle of wine but we didn't get it till almost the same time as our food. She told she couldn't find an opener? I think she just forgot. Food was fantastic
Really love the food at Little India! Cool lamps too!
I took my daughter her to start a new tradition of Indian food for Christmas Day dinner. We arrived towards the end of the scheduled buffet and were told that it was too late to order the buffet, as there was "no food left" and it was being broken down. In the time that it took for the waiter to bring us menus and take our order, I saw at least 4 people approach the buffet and walk away with plates of food. That was no big deal, I understand they have to close it at some point, it just seemed strange to be told we couldn't order the buffet because there was no food left when other people were getting plates of food.
I also ordered a cup of coffee, was told that they would brew a fresh pot, then was told by another waiter that there was "no coffee". Again, it was disconcerting that they have coffee on the menu, I was told they would brew a fresh pot, and then told "no coffee."
Finally, I ordered a mango chutney and raita to go with the meal and it did not arrive with our entrees and I had to ask the waiter to please bring it out.
There were several different servers attending to our table and there appeared to be a communication gap somewhere along the line.
I don't know that I'll be going back to Little India for dinner or any kind of special occasion.
Had a couple of traditional dishes. Local Indian wine for $19 bottle was great. The food is really good ne the service was fantastic.
It never disappoints! I love Indian food and Little India's remains my favorite
Loud group of kids when we were there, but food and service were both good, and our server made the Moscow mules nice and strong so we managed to overlook the rambunctiousness.
I really like this place, I have prolly been here 7 times in the last year and I always go home full & Happy!! My Fav is the Tandori Chicken, But it's all good!!! The Special Naan w/ the ground Lamb in it is amazing as well! Always good food here & I like this particular location better than the other location in downtown Denver.
I love Indian food and have been craving it. The curry and Masala were amazing and the drinks were good too.
Little India has never let us down as the best experience in Denver for Indian cuisine. I continue to tell all of my friends !
I arrived at the designated reserved time and the place was closed and locked.
Little India on 6th is consistently very good. To be excellent, the food would have to be a bit more "spiced up", more robust. That said, this is the best Indian food I have had in Denver. And,the service is consistently attentive and courteous. I'll go back and have.
If you are from out of town and looking for the best Indian food in Denver - or live in Denver and haven't tried it yet, you should!
Went here for a friend's bachelorette party and we all had an excellent time. The food was great and the service superb.
Little India is low key and comfortable. We took our son, who is a vegetarian and found many good choices. He had vegetable curry and I had saag paneer. Both were excellent.
The food at Little India is always great. The service, on the other hand, is not usually. Our server was fairly attentive, just very awkward.
A great surprise while visiting Denver. Will definitively be back. Very good food.
Little India delivers big flavor for little money. Great variety of menu items, excellent drink list and great service.
Still the best Indian food in central Denver but menu prices continue to rise as portions become smaller.
