Little India Restaurant - 6th Ave
Little India on 6th Avenue is a popular Indian restaurant with unique specialties and cocktails. To the delight of hungry patrons, the open kitchen allows the scents of the food being cooked to waft through the dining room. Little India is the definition of a local favorite, having been voted "Best Lunch Buffet" and "Best Restaurant" by local publications that polled both critics and patrons. It also offers takeout and delivery if diners can't come in and sit down.
Little India's award-winning lunch buffet is the perfect opportunity for guests to come in and try a little bit of everything on the menu. Specialties include items baked in the clay oven (tandoori) and several made-from-scratch curry dishes. Little India's desserts are also made fresh, including the bright and tangy mango custard.
Always fantastic. If you like spicy food, ask for extra hot/spicy... it will be!
It took a very long time for our food to arrive, and our waiter didn't keep us posted. And unfortunately, 4 out of 5 of us spent a LOT of time in the bathroom the next day.
We had a reservation but it hadn’t been confirmed when we arrived. We were told we’d be seated next and then watched another couple be taken back ahead of us. I understand things were a bit crazy but communication is obviously a problem with the wait staff. Sat down and the noise made it hard to have a conversation. The tables were too small for the serving dishes. We had to constantly ask for dishes to be bussed to make room, none of the many workers walking past would pick them up. We had to ask for silverware/napkins after our food came and it took a while to get it. The food was fantastic but the subpar service doesn’t make me want to return.
I have long enjoyed the buffet lunches at Little India, when I tend to eat most everything offered, but I prefer dinners for two or more ordered off the menu so we can share a smaller selection of items in more depth. It's authentic and offers real value for the cost.
The concierge at our hotel recommended Little India. Our Uber driver told us that we made a great choice. Food and service were excellent. So glad we went.
Great food and fantastic cocktails..
Very poor, food has no taste , staff was unprofessional.
We sat for 20 mins before anyone came to greet us or take a drink order. Food was quick and amazing as usual however at the end of the meal it took them forever to bring our check to us.
Had the buffet. No return by server to freshen plate or drinks. Saag was flavorful but wouldn’t say it’s one of the better Indian buffets.
Best flavorful Indian food in Denver! Nitan was so knowledgeable and friendly for both of us. We just moved to the neighborhood and Nitan helped us go over the menu and got her a great wine pairing. See you weekly!
I found the food to be exceptional, it did take quite a long time to receive our order. Our waiter was pleasant, when we could capture his attention.
Little India on 6th is one of my favorites restaurants. I love Indian food, and this place is the best. I have been here many times, and every time the food and service is consistently excellent and well priced. I am sure I will go back many times.
Delicious food. Wonderful service. Highly recommend.
we have been going here for a while...and for whatever reason the food wasn't up to their usually quality.
Love Indian food but thought thie food here lacked the ‘punch’ of other Indian restaurants we have visited recently.
Our group of 5 was actually seated early. Service was excellent, as was the food. Server was very accommodating to recommend wine and provide separate checks. It was a very enjoyable evening that we hope to repeat soon.
Great food delivered with great service. This is my go to for Indian Cuisine.
Overall, good Indian food at reasonable prices...service is okay.
Fantastic restaurant and terrific value. Location is very convenient as well.
The food was good, but service was very slow. Also, we weren't happy about being charged $3.00 extra for brown rice. That is outrageous.
Food is 5 star, and people are nice with great service. Went on Saturday night so a bit hectic, needed one more waiter, but food worth waiting for. Highly recommend
Good meal, basic Indian cuisine. Very friendly staff. No Indian beer available that evening. Excellent Manhattan.
Service was very slow for a restaurant that was half
Full. Waited almost 45 minutes for a pretty simple dinner order. Food was good, but waited to get
Out of the kitchen long enough that it was getting cold.
The buffet was very good. It’s a very small space so there are about 20 hot items plus the salad bar of about 10 items.
Well, one of us ordered Chicken Tika Masala and I ordered Shrimp curry. The sauces didn't differ hardly at all.
Went for daughter's birthday. Great food, but somewhat overpriced. Service was attentive and well paced. While I love the ambiance, the restaurant itself is beginning to look it's age. Considering the pricing, you'd think the owner might look into some renovations to look less run down. Still, all in all, our visit brought a smile to my daughter's face, and that's all that mattered.
Long wait despite booking table on open table but food was very good. Super flavorful and prepared quickly. Just expect to wait but very good.
not very good;or up to snuff from previous visits. Would not go to little india anytime in the foreseeable future.
There was nothing wrong with our visit, but nothing memorable either. Nan was good. Lassi was good. Curries were okay, though they seemed to be missing that high note that jumps out at you. Beer was cold. Portions were about right for us. The menu was rather limited. Again, nothing was really wrong. Just maybe a little boring. Sort of the Toyota Corolla of Indian restaurants. Also, they're priced slightly higher ($2-$3 per entree) than what we're used to. I should note that we seek out Indian fare every time we travel, and cook it at home a lot. So our expectations might be higher than the average patron.
The food used to be excellent when I first moved to Denver 8 years ago, but it's since taken a nose dive. I had the chicken tikka-- the onions were barely cooked and the meat was bland.
I love the good here, it is always great! Reasonable as well.
Food is excellent but service was very slow and somewhat chaotic, though clearly well intentioned. Waiters were rushing around looking frantic all the time, but very little seemed to get done. After we were seated, we waited 15 minutes to get a waiter to come by and take drink order, and nothing happened till we asked the manager for help. Food also took a long time to arrive after order. Everyone very nice, and food was delicious, but the whole thing seemed like a restaurant scene from a sitcom.
Very tasty food. Nice ambience.
Waiters were friendly but a bit haphazard. (We had to get napkins and flatware from a nearby table.)
This was exactly the experience I was looking for! Was my first time having Indian food here in Denver and I was not at all disappointed. The staff was so friendly and seated us very quickly. They took our food and drink orders incredibly promptly. When our food came and the table was looking a little crowded, they encouraged us to move to a bigger table, even though that would mean more work for them, as they would have to bus our original table. The food was excellent and came out very authentically, in little share style pots, each with their own spoon. A side of rice came included as well, which was perfect for soaking up sauce. I ate half my dish and still had plenty to take home, which made a great dinner the next day. Would definitely recommend and will be back!
Consistently good food! The servers are very friendly and focused. David is the manager and he is always so attentive! Love this place!
The food was ok. The chicken tikka masala is always different. This time it was less creamy as usual. Our server basically forgot about us for thirty minutes and we never had the opportunity to order more rice since we were originally served just one little dish for the both of us. To top off the meal, the phone at the front counter rang NON-STOP the entire time we were there since no one answered it! And we couldn’t tell our server because we was AWOL.
A neighbor recommended Little India to us. We were going to order home delivery, but the menu was so extensive that we decided to go in the first time to get assistance from the server. I'm glad we did.
The server was very good to explain the different types of dishes, the cooking methods, sauce bases, and spice level. My husband had a traditional curry, (combination beef and chicken) which was good. I had their lamb special for that day which was fantastic. The crisps served when we sat down, with 2 types of dips, were very tasty. The garlic naam which we ordered with our meals was also very good.
We thought the prices were reasonable for what we got. The serving size was generous. (I brought half of mine home for dinner the next day.)
The interior of the restaurant was pleasant, if not spectacular. We sat in the main part of the restaurant. There was another area with windows all around which looked even more pleasant.
We will definitely go again, primarily because the food was excellent.
Very good food, great service and great staff. An overall very good experience that I will gladly do again on my next visit.
Service could have been much better. Food was pretty good.
