Went there for an early vday dinner. The food was amazing, the beer was great and the staff were friendly. Can’t wait to go back.
Fantastic service. Didn’t feel rushed. Food was incredible.
Had a wonderful evening. Loved the Pop up menu, was extremely delicious!!
Enjoyed an excellent meal. The BBQ is a different then the normal food served but we had an excellent meal and great value. The ribs were amazing and the selection of food is very good.
Very enjoyable evening with fantastic food and service
A fantastic special occasion dining experience to share with friends. This was the second time we have been to Little Grouse and ordered the alla famiglia + wine pairing. We were not been disappointed. Each dish was fantastic as a stand alone; the risotto, pasta dishes, and trout were all incredible. All paired wines complimented the dishes perfectly and dessert capped the evening off nicely. Would have loved the steak add-on if we had known to order it in advance (had it years ago and it knocked our socks off!)
Four of us went for dinner.. the 2 guys had the beef, which they said was the best they’d ever had (pine view), we had the the shrimp pasta which was also very delicious.. service was excellent. The only thing that I would say is the bottle of wine makes the meal some what pricey. The cheapest is $65... so if there was more moderately priced wine, we’d definitely return.
The food and service was excellent! Everything is made fresh in house and tasted fantastic!
Beautiful local spot. The wine pairing with meals was an experience I would highly recommend for those wanting something a little different then your typical night out for supper
Loved it all! Meatballs were wonderful!! All food is so simple and so perfectly Italian. Beautiful ambience
We had the seven course meal with the wine pairing. We love trying different foods. Altho we are somewhat limited because I have a nut allergy. We really enjoyed the octopus and the burrata cheese. The carrot risotto and the steak with lentils was wonderful. We were pleasantly suprised by the riccota ravioli with browned butter and sage. Didn't look like much but was very delicious.
Excellent service, the rose was delicious, and the meatball appetizer was sublime. My wife loved her salad. Only slight downside was my main course, a pork pasta dish. It was a bit dry and bland flavour wise.
But we will definitely be back.
Great evening at Little Grouse the night before my sons wedding.
Great service with great knowledge of the menu by our server Amanda.
The meals were enjoyed by all at our tables. Robert the cook was wonderful and was able to find us some cake for dessert.
Thanks everyone, it was a great start to a great weekend.
Perfect as always! The food and service are always great here and once again, they were! The insalata mista, seasonal risotto, and ravioli were near perfection. Our server was so helpful and had great recommendations. One of the best restaurants in Saskatoon, if not the best!
Just really nice atmosphere, beautiful and tasty food. Always a pleasure to dine here!
The pasta dish we ordered was not especially tasty and was chewy, not tender as it should, the sauce did not adhere to the pasta or had either too little or too much. One plate's marinara was too acidic, it needed to be cut down a bit. No accompaniment with the dish which left a very boring plate. My expectations from a chef was a lot higher; I was greatly disappointed . Spent a month in Italy with great food and this restaurant's food is far from that experience.
Great food and service!
Food was perfectly prepared, not tough or acidic. Just like they make in Italy. Definitely would recommend to my family.
Best restaurant in the city
Best place to go for an anniversary dinner. Ordered the 7 course meal and it was amazing. All pasta is created right infront of your eyes.
Server was not very pleasant (I believe she is the manager too). We ordered the family four course meal and the portions were for one person (one fillet of trout for two people!). We calculated we would have saved $30 by ordering each dish individually vs. ordering the family option. I was last at this restaurant over two years ago and it was a terrific and memorable experience - now the place seems to have lost its magic.
A great small spot for pasta. Great atmosphere, we watched our pasta be made from scratch, the starters were awesome and it was quiet enough to be able to easily chat with everyone in our group. Although the menu is small there was options for everyone (even our pickiest eater).
Wonderful food, excellent service and overall great experience!
Despite the COVID19 pandemic, we were treated extremely well. The food was fantastic, and the service great.
My husband’s carbonara was so salty it was almost inedible. The meatballs were good though. Every time we asked the server for something it seemed like she made a point to do something else first. Meh
My husband and I went here for supper and did the 7 course meal. When ordering they asked how I felt about octupus. I said I would prefer a different meat but he said he would love it. I assumed they would bring us two serpate main dishes. We kept waiting for the octupus (or something different). Instead we were brought three pasta dishes and 1 beef dish. When paying over $200 for your meal I would excpect a main course to be some sort of meat. It was frustrating it wasnt communicated to us because he was really looking forward to trying the octopus.
Great food and atmosphere
If you were the judge on a high end cooking show, this is the food you would taste. It's all amazing. The only downside is that you need a jacket due to air-conditioning and the music is whatever playlist someone chooses (last time it was Elton John for a few hours).
Absolutely incredible, best food I’ve ever had in my life. We had the 7 course meal and they were able to completely change the food to accommodate any dislikes or food allergies/ sensitivity. Very personable and 100% worth the price, unforgettable!!
We did the 7 course meal all surprised and it was delightful and such a fun experience!
Service was absolutely exceptional! My boyfriend had the Tortellini which seemed pricey for the amount that was on the plate. Both of our meals were delicious. Music was a little loud. Overall I would recommend for a special evening out.
Great food and excellent wine pairing. A quiet casual dining room with just the right amount of attention so that you can enjoy your meal. Well done!
We had the 7 course tasting menu. All the dishes were delicious, but 4 of the 7 dishes were pasta. A little more variety would have been appropriate. Service was outstanding. They matched a nice bottle of wine for our meal. We will definitely return again,
Amazing flavourful food! Ordered the 4 course meal which met full expectations. Servers explained each dish and were super friendly throughout the service. We sat at the bar table and we were able to watch the chefs make our meal. It was an amazing experience! The chefs chatting and answered questions I had about the Dishes we had. I can’t wait to return to try more of their delicious food!
It was a little chilly being by the door/window but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience at Little Grouse. It made my partner’s birthday very special.
Very enjoyable evening and great wine selection as well! Look forward to coming back soon.
Food was tasty - service was pretty good....but if you're hungry... Definitely go elsewhere.. there are several Italian food or other food options within walking distance.
Portions (pasta options were the primary plates on menu) are very small for the price relative to other similar restaurants. I get the quaint dining experience aspect but we all left hungry and disappointed.
Ayden is much better in my opinion and considering its promoted as the same owner I expected more from little grouse.
The "handmade" pasta was good despite the tiny portion size. Maybe the portion size is so everyone orders the pricey desserts? .... Everyone at our table was still very hungry after appetizers and out mains so we all ordered dessert.. the $6 scoop of sorbet looked good; my $12 sliver of cake was dry but had decent flavour..
The positive is that our server was good despite not knowing much about the food on the menu (apparently the menu had just changed??) ...I wish I had more positives to provide but I can't.
Time to order something from Skip to fill the void.
The service and food was amazing!
My only comment was that it was very cold in the restaurant! One of the chefs used the front door to what appeared to pour out water from a pot so came in and out a few times which created a freezing cold draft in the restaurant.
Our experience at Little Grouse on the Prairie was incredible! Our server was knowledgeable, fun and engaged. We opted for the 7 course Alla Famiglia and it did not disappoint! I also opted to pair it with the wine and that was an additional wow factor! The wines truly matched the dishes so well.
We had such an incredible experience and will definitely be back!
Tank you for such a lovely experiencing :)
We really enjoyed our time here. Will definitely be back again.
Delicious food! The drink menu is a little limited, but aside from that, we had a fantastic time.
Excellent food and service. I was dining alone, but was never made to feel neglected or conspicuous (which can sometimes be a problem for solo diners).
