About this restaurant

Little Fountain Cafe is a restaurant in the Adams Morgan part of the Washington D.C. Area. This quaint little restaurant has a very elegant atmosphere. Classy stucco walls with dark-stained natural wood trim add a lot of flair to the dining room. A handful of tables and chairs rest outside in the garden area, while a lone fountain decorates the inside dining area and gives the restaurant its unique name. Many types of cuisine are offered at Little Fountain Cafe. The restaurant serves international cuisine, with popular dishes such as the pan seared duck breast, morels and mixed mushrooms, pappardelli and grilled flank steak. As a special dinner offer, Little Fountain Cafe has a 3-course meal available with daily changing courses. Upstairs of the restaurant is a separate bar operated by the same owners of the restaurant itself.

The closest DC comes to a Parisian cave, LFC is the place for a quiet evening with your significant other. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the service informal but prompt. The food is wonderful, but the menu could use updating. Lighter fare would be welcome along with more vegetarian choices.

It was my boyfriends birthday and he loves this little place. Its where I would recommend a first date because you can actually have a nice conversation and not feel rushed.

Went on a Friday night. The deco inside is cosy, but because it is in the basement, I nearly missed it. Too bad the front let it down, I believe if it has a more noticeable entrance, the restaurant would attract more clients. The service is good. Though I made a reservation via Open Table, and requested a table by the window, when I arrived, the only table that was by the window was occupied, so I am not too please about that. Now the food is contemporary American. All the dishes were well prepared apart from everything was a bit too salty for my taste. My dining companion ordered duck, that was well cooked to medium rare. We were really surprised to see the portion was European size, which means it is way too small by American sta

The Little Fountain Cafe was a quiet romantic dining experience. I was hoping to be seated at the outdoor table near the fountain, but now am glad we were seated indoors by the indoor fountain where it was away from the foot traffic. The service was excellent, very warm and attentive and not obtrusive. The little fountain salad was tasty with crunchy bits of fried shallots and an excellent shallot vinaigrette. The pork was tender and tasty. It was made with a cornichon sauce which was very unique with a good combination of spicy and sour. My husband got the shad which was excellent. The texture difference between the soft filet and the roe was amazing. The desserts were fantastic esp the chocolate chip bread pudding.

I ordered the duck and it was bland. It also was very fatty. My boyfriend however enjoyed this meal. Overall, it was okay. I was expecting more based on the reviews, but I can see myself going back for lunch or brunch.

This place is wonderful. Great ambiance, and I love that the staff and menu are attentive to vegetarians. Our server mentioned without us asking that the soup was made with vegetable stock - a lot aren't. The food was great, and the prices aren't absurd. This is one of our favorite romantic spots.
