Little Dom's Ratings and Reviews
We always go for brunch and its a great time. This time we tried dinner and its wasn't such a great experience surprisingly. It took a hour to get our food and portions were ridiculously small. I think we saw our waitress 3 times total. I'm a very tolerant customer it takes a pretty bad experience for me to take time to give a poor review. I will never go back for dinner.
Delicious! You must try the rice balls, they're a must. Had the white fish piccata, which was excellent, along with the sun chokes. Another person had the duck carbonara (a special), which was also delicious, as well as the pork. Try the fried potatoes as well. All in all, it was great. We'd go back.
it was good but the hostess was not very pleasant when we were 10 minutes late. She gave our table away and was very curt about it. She didn't put us on the top of the next table instead saying we were on the bottom of the list and would need to wait 45 minutes. We all sat in the bar checking open table for another restaurant. When I said to my firends I would write open table about her attitude she somehow found a table for us. We understand we were late and if they could not accomodate us we would understand but there is no reason to be rude.
The food was unimpressive, the service was not so good. We ordered a drink when we got there, it didn't come until after we got our appetizer. My water glass was empty, and I asked the busboy as he was clearing my entree if I could please have some more water and he said, "why not?" Indeed. Our waitress came after that and filled our water. (I got the impression that filling waters wasn't his job and he whined to the waitress to do it, he didn't feel like a team player. At that point, a burly waiter took over for our sweet yet mostly absent waitress and he was prompt about bringing the check, running our credit card, and thanking us. He was nice and good at what he did, but overall it was a pretty lackluster experience at Little Dom's.
When you come to Lil Dom's, we hope you get Dorian as our server. She is one of the best and is very knowledgeable about the food selection. She suggested some different dishes we had not tried before and they were wonderful. We enjoy the cozy feel of the main room.
The ambience changes from night to night but is always pleasant.
I had the fixed Monday Night Supper which is a great price. $15 WITH a bottle of wine! Definitely get reservations. Overall awesome place. My only complaint is that the Chicken Caccitore was so fatty and the lighting so dim, that it got pretty nasty when I got the fat, yet delicious when it was chicken -not a fun gamble. I would go back and try another supper. I had checked the website and the menu hadn't been updated. That doesn't bother me at all, but it you're going with someone who's a picky eater, etc, and if you don't know what they'll be serving, you might pass.
Excellent as always from the food to the service to the decor. We requested a booth and they were able to accomadate. The front desk staff and wait staff are so customer service oriented and do a wonderful job. The manager made a point to stop by the tables to check how everyone was doing...bravo!
Menu has many selctions to choose from and prices are resonable
If I haven't already said how much I like Little Dom's? Let me say, again. I love the place. It was our anniversary and I specifically requested LIttle Dom's - secret reason: They serve a cocktail called Penicillin made with Famous Grouse scotch, ginger lemon juice...fabulous. The food is wonderful, always several specials which are tempting. They always treat us well, giving us the booth that we especially like. With a reservation time, your reservation is honored. The people waiting for a table can always go to the great bar and have a glass of something. And this last time we even saw two people eating dinner at the bar. Go. You'll love it
I really like this spot. Great atmosphere. It was darker than I expected which is a good thing as I went on a date. We had 2 servers because one's shift ended. The second one was not as attentive. That is my only little gripe with the evening. I will be back for sure.
My favorite restaurant in all of LA! The ambience is warm and inviting, the food is consistently amazing... but the service - the service puts it way over the top. I love everyone there, from the deceptively innocent hostess Lara, to the most accommodating, friendly, personable and downright foxy waitresses Jamie and Dorian, to the ever-present Johnny-on-the-spot busboys... and then top it all off with the sweetest/sexiest manager who will stop by and make sure all is right in your world... the amazing Lainie (sp?)! You really never want to leave the place. But you have to leave. Or the cops will remove you. It happened... I don't want to talk about it.
Get the spaghetti and meatballs!!!
The food is eclectic Italian, but over-salted and muddled. Nothing special. The atmosphere is old New York but a little cramped and therefore a tad noisy, and the contemporary music on the PA only adds to the din. But a lot of people seem to enjoy the place, and you might too. The prices are fairly inexpensive.
Disappointed, I ordered the tuna sandwich with fried potatoes. Everything on the plate was black and burned. I was surprised it was served. After returning the plated of charcoal I needed something light. However the rocket salad recommended by the waiter had so much lemon juice on it I was unable to make do with that also.
My wife on the other hand ordered the salmon and it was okay, nothing great but at least edible as were the rice balls starter we shared.
Shame, I really wanted to like this place.
Had been to Little Dom's a couple times before and just ate from their bar menu. This was the first time that I had dinner and it was great. Group of 4 of us and everyone liked their food. Margherita pizza with prosciutto was wonderful. One of our party had saltimbocca and said it was fantastic. I had spaghetti and meatballs. Prices are very reasonable. Would definitely go back.
