Linwoods Ratings and Reviews
Great Sunday evening with friends after a concert. As always the food at Linwoods is exceptional and I am very picky. We enjoyed a broad sampling of the menu. The crispy oysters are still on the menu and not to be missed. The simple iceberg lettuce salad is raised to a terrific starter by the excellent blue cheese dressing. One of our guest is vegetarian so he had a great time making a dinner of starters and pizza. He pronounced everything excellent and, of course, loved the thin crust pizza. Two of us had fish. The salmon preparation of the season features butternut squash. My guest pronounced it all the best salmon she had in a long time. The tuna with the lemon puree almost looks too good to eat but my friend didn't let that stop her. Many people do not like liver; but the calves liver at Linwoods is tender and deeply flavorful. If people would give it a chance they would be converts. We ended the evening with hot fudge sundaes and biscotti. Drinks at Linwoods are generous and delicious. You need to eat there often.
The service was excellent and food great! We are thankful our friends moved to that area and we decided to check this out. We always try to have a special event for the holidays with these friends whom we have known for almost 30 years. This was upon there with one of the best. May need to repeat it sooner than the holidays!!
We picked out and engagement ring today and Linwood helped make the day that much more special. Our waiter was friendly and showed up at just the right times. He helped with the desert selection and he was spot on. Sincerely enjoyed our lunch and will always remember this special day and the wonderful service we received. The food was phenomenal and the Last Word was perfection.
This was our 23 or 24th dinner at Linwoods this year so I guess you could say that we are very much regulars. We love Linwoods. The food is always perfect. Our regular server, Annie always takes great care of us. Sunday was Christmas eve and the restaurant was packed. No other restaurant in Baltimore County comes close to Linwoods for great food and great service. Getting there is easy and parking is a snap.
Even on a busy night Linwoods excels at food and service. It is always a total package. The crispy oysters are just that, crispy but not overwhelmed in breading so you can still taste the oysters. The special white bean soup on the menu that night was thick with beans and bacon flavor; for a winter's night. The eggplant salad wth the French feta was excellent as usual. My godson had the steak with pepper sauce and pronounced it perfect and he is picky. The tuna with the citrus spread was so gorgeous that it looked like a filet. Of course, the crab cake was perfect as usual, fresh, full of lump crab, complimented by great crunchy fries
We ordered the three course lunch. My friend ordered the wedge salad, which ended up being a flower, not a wedge. Not nearly as good as when we dined there previously. Salmon had a really heavy glaze, not light as previously. Vegetables were too hard and cabbage was added which was bitter. Waiter was efficient, but did not ask us about ice cream flavors we preferred. By the time we could contact him, someone had already brought our desserts
Linwood’s has a peerless quality to dining outside of downtown Baltimore. Food is consistently inventive and satisfying, service is superb and you’re always better off for choosing it over lower priced alternatives. Parking was at a premium there 2 weeks before Christmas, so my lunch companion drove around and around until finding a space. Party spaces were full of guests but it was worth it for such divine dining. You truly feel welcome and catered to by the wait staff too.
Went to celebrate my birthday, just the two of us. Call from sister on highway in middle of meal. Hostess & server Annie moved us to a 4 top as easy as pouring water. Got to celebrate with my sister & brother in law. Food was absolutely phenomenal from appetizers to desserts! Thank you for a great birthday!!
