It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years.

Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. Our team has worked hard to connect to our community, and we value our customers. These values have been central to Ellen and Linwood’s vision, and we hope are felt by our customers each day.

    Besides delicious cuisine, style and service, Linwoods Catering can offer its clients expertise and experience. This comes from almost twenty years of catering events from small celebrations at home to galas for thousands. Linwoods has catered weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events, charity balls, and openings. Our goal is to make our clients happy and relaxed, to provide special menus tailored to your style within your price range.     Linwoods' delicious cuisine, style and service can also be experienced during catered events held at our facility. There are two private rooms, one that seats up to 20 people "Private Dining Room", and "Due", which seats up to 120. "Due" also has the capacity to hold about 150 for cocktails and buffet. There is an outdoor area that can be tented. These areas can accommodate entertainment and a dance floor. These spaces are lovely for weddings, parties, corporate events and meetings, as well as social gatherings.

    Food was great and the service provided by our waitress was very good. I recommend the fish based dishes. Some of the best I’ve had. The only reason I’m rating the service and overall experience as 4 and not 5, is that I found some of the male staff to be a little bit rushed and not in a good mood.

    The food was amazing. The atmosphere was calm and serene. Our waiter was average but it didn't matter because the good was so good. We would definitely return to this restaurant again.

    I would have given it 5 stars except for the server. Our reservation was at 5:30pm on a Saturday evening (best we could get on short notice). Usually, the server will come, greet you, provide drink menu and check with you in a few minutes. She came every 3 minutes and from the start, we felt rushed. She had a “manic” energy which made our experience mixed. The food, the restaurant, where we sat…all great, but when she came around, she was short, disingenuous, and hurried. It’s a shame because what was supposed to be a nice evening out with friends became a discussion during the meal and on the way home on what was wrong with the server. We just made another reservation and hope we don’t get the same server again.

    We’ve been to Linwood’s many times over the years for special occasions and just because. The food has always been great and so is the service. I just want to say that our server last nite was so sweet and so nice. I believe her name was Megan

    We attended Linwoods for our 26th Anniversary. Everything was perfect. Our waitress Kelly made us feel at home and catered to, the food was magnificent. The cocktails were spectacular! Loved every second of it! Highlights included the lobster tempura in Honey Butter, the strip steak carpet bagger style, and the blood orange martini!

    I treated 2 friends to dinner at Linwood’s for their birthdays. This was another excellent dining experience. The onion soup, scallops and Brussels Caesar were yummy, and I was so happy to see the delicious liver back on the menu. I ate the whole entree and was tempted to lick the plate. So yummy! Thanks, Sister, for your usual excellent service and attention and to the chefs for helping to make our dinner so memorable !

    Linwood's has been a long favorite of mine. This was a special dinner, celebrating my 70th Birthday with my best girlfriend and my family. Looking forward to your Spring menu. I live in PA, but hope to be back for your Spring Menu (especially the fresh pea salad).

    Delicious food, excellent service. And the new owner, Tom, stopped at our table to say hello. And parking is a breeze. Nice to see a flower arrangement at the front desk; there should always be one there, IMHO.

    Excellent food , wine and service. Surprisingly large increase in food and wine prices as compared to other top restaurants in the metropolitan area. We have no photos.

    The portion sizes were small. The food had good flavor and the ambiance was great. Never would have known the place was there b/c of it location. It was a good date night spot.

    Wonderful server - Barb. So professional and knowledgeable about everything from the food preparation to the wine. Delicious onion soup, sea bass, tuna fiorentina, and desserts. Good wine list.

    My Wife and I was celebrating our Anniversary, we were greeted upon entering Linwoods with “Happy Anniversary “, the dinner was amazing, the staff very attentive and we were surprised with an Anniversary surprise dessert, we had an awesome time
