We love going to L'Inizio. The food is outstanding--diverse and tasty. The ambiance is eclectic and fun. On this particular Saturday night, however, the service was really off. It was one mistake after another. The waiter was personable and tried to be helpful with corrections, but then the next course would be wrong or not arrive. They did offer us a free dessert but we purposely hadn't ordered dessert. We would have appreciated it if the manager had stopped by the table and personally apologized for all the errors. We will be back because the food is so good, but I hope that the next time we go, the service is in order.
The food and service were excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.
No matter how many times we come to this restaurant Chef Scott Frantangelo continues to amaze us with his original, sophisticated and heavenly masterpieces. Pastry chef Heather Frantangelo always exceeds our expectations with her scrumptious desserts.
Unquestionably the best restaurant in Westchester
All around excellent dinner, service, menu and food.
Very good food & service. Back room can use a décor upgrade.
Delicious food and excellent service
Best restaurant in Westchester. Nothing comes close
We've always had a delightful meal at the neighborhood gem of a restaurant. Each and every dish is delicious, and never ceases to thrill each of us. From the homemade pastas and the fabulous chicory salad to the savory cookie tray, each has flavors we find ourselves saying that each dish is better than the last. Good food, nice atmosphere that is comfortable and not too loud, is why we continue to return.
The food was just okay, nothing special. Not going back.
Fui con mi mujer para un brunch de domingo. No nos gustó. Las opciones son muy pocas y el ambiente malo
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at L'Inizio's. It was my son's birthday and he's a bit of a foodie. We decided to share 3 appetizers, and then get 1/2 orders of pasta as entrees. The appetizers were delicious -- the grilled octopus was in a salad tossed with a light, delicious vinaigrette; the roasted Brussels sprouts were perfect (with added flavor from a Sriracha aioli) and we tried the smoked ricotta with honey. All were unique and very flavorful. The special pasta -- chicken bolognese -- over herbed kale pasta was fabulous and the linguini with cockles and sausage was delicious. Definitely traveling to and worth the visit.
The food/dessert, service and ambiance is top notch.
As good as always! Although they brought out the wrong entree for our friend, they corrected it and gave him the incorrect one to take home. Also, they were out of a cocktail on the menu we had wanted to try but had some other interesting choices.
Terrific food, outstanding service but noise level too high for both of us. I wear hearing aids and my wife has normal hearing. We will definitely return but try to come in a mid weekday evening rather than weekend.
We were celebrating the sale of our home. We both had the Restaurant Week menu. We had the crispy cauliflower and the octopus for appetizers, both of us had the pork loin and for dessert the bombolini and the banana crunch cake. The appetizers were great, the pork was interesting but a little dry, and the desserts were wonderful as usual!
They were out of my favorite aged Old Fashioned, so I had a very nice Cabernet. My husband had a Negroni which was really tasty.
Although we have moved out of the area, I know that we will always return to have dinner here.
Phenomenal dining experience. Service, atmosphere, menu...everything was outstanding. Highly recommend.
Warm and gracious, even though it was Restaurant Week. The food is always interesting. One of our favorites.
It was a great meal. For a Restaurant Week meal it was outstanding. Off the regular menu, I think I would give it the highest rating next time. I was attracted to this restaurant because they get their meat from Campbell Butchery . If they use organic produce they should advertise it. Eating out is always so difficult since most of the time it is not as healthy as a home cooked meal!
wonderful Italian casual restaurant more like a bistro with tight space but great atmosphere
Very good service quick and efficient. Well priced food and drinks
Been there several times since February and each time is better than last
Parking is sometimes difficult due to lack of street parking
Had a great meal. Started with the stuffed clams - lots of clam meat and bacon, very taste. Ordered the polenta as a second appetizer and it was perfectly cooked with a great light sauce and cheese. Special pasta was a mushroom boar ragu with nice sized pieces of meat and very flavorful . Chicken Milanese was perfectly crisped with a lovely tomato, artichoke and arugula salad. Finished with home made ice creams, great chocolate and a vanilla with coconut and chocolate was wonderful. Wine reasonable. Nice atmosphere an great service. Would glad come back.
The desert was like Entemens crumb cake.
Cauliflower app was ok, not wild about sauce .Fish ok...presentation not so much.
Best part was glass of Cabernet .
Packed like sardines!!
Excellent food, terrific service, and very tuned in to diners' needs and requests. Charming hostess who makes you feel welcomed. This restaurant is going on my "go back to" list
Great as always
We have been here twice. This time with a large group (8 + a baby). Everyone loved their food and the service was terrific. Very accommodating with the baby. Looking forward to our next visit.
Homemade golden beet pasta was delicious. I probably would have preferred a lighter sauce without goat cheese; still very tasty. Creative farro salad with citrus and mint. Topped off dinner with famous donuts and chocolate sauce!
Wonderful as always
Let's get to the point. The food at L'Inizio is superb. It's inventive, fresh and delicious. I highly recommend it to any serious foodies. The restaurant is small and very casual, which makes it either cozy or a bit cramped. Service is friendly and competent. We had an excellent Tuscan Red with our meal. And the deserts were excellent. Great night out.
The food is delicious, portions are perfect, Oh so lovely atmosphere, comfortable and romantic!
Fantastic, rustic, warm...farm-to-fine wooden table at its finest. Once again my wife and I were served a local gem of a meal, this time accompanied by a third. Our only sobering portion of the evening came at dinners’ end when my mother in-laws’ good, yet shall we say “thrifty” intentions fell short in appreciation.
Had a wonderful 1st time experience here. Drinks were good but the food was better. They only had one waiter for the entire restaurant so it would’ve been nice if he had more help. The chairs were rather uncomfortable but overall we enjoyed ourselves. We had the octopus, burrata and fish which were all fresh and delicious. Will come back again.
We love this restaurant. Menu is always interesting get to try combinations we wouldn’t think we would like. Everything is delicious. Lucky to have it in our neighborhood.
The food was terrific. The sauces were superb. This is one of our very favorite places to dine.
This was our second time dining there. The food and service were excellent. Would recommend to anybody.
Great night out in Ardsley. Good was excellent and overall ambiance was great for a Friday night out!
Disapppointed in the food...fatty rib eye, over spiced chicken scapariello, tuna over powered with pepper. Very expensive Valentine’s dinner and okay food. Saving grace was the desserts, which was yummy.
My wife and I went for dinner on Valentine’s Day. It turned out there was a $70 prix fixe menu. I felt it would have been nice if the restaurant had alerted us to this fact when they called to confirm the reservation. (It would be even better if Open Table could somehow do this.) Neither wine nor coffee was included, so the meal was no bargain. Having said this, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere pleasant. The service was very good, although we were asked multiple times by multiple people if we wanted more wine.
Being Valentine's Day, we expected the restaurant to be busy and it was. The noise level was acceptable and the staff was pleasant and efficient, despite the full house. As always, the food was well prepared and innovative, featuring new twists on familiar dishes.
Very innovating and delicious dining. Our second time back and we’ll be back again as both times we left feeling well cared for and well sated. Can’t wait to try the Price fixed Monday through Wed meals. Bravo!!
This is our favorite restaurant for a special night. The food is amazing and the service is wonderful. We love their cocktails and the wine list is excellent. The food is wonderful and the desserts are sublime!
I wish we could eat there every night!
