This is not the first time we dined at L'inizio and it had always been a delightful evening. Our waitress Kim was very professional and extremely nice, with her warm smile, wit and intelligence. I highly recommend this neighborhood restaurant.

We had a lovely dinner at our favorite restaurant! Started with fabulous cocktails and had some appetizers. We had the chicken scarp, the chicken milanase, and the the chicken parmigiana. We shared a great bottle of wine that was recommended to us by the incomparable sommelier, David. Dessert was pumpkin cheesecake and a dark chocolate coconut sorbet.

As always, the food was outstanding. The cauliflower and Brussels sprouts appetizers, the branzino and pasta with mushrooms are standouts. And the bombilini with chocolate sauce is the perfect dessert. Excellent cocktails and good, fairly priced wine list.

We’ve never had a bad meal here, until now. We shared an inedible cauliflower appetizer and had a very good but extremely overpriced pork chop entree. Despite the hostess wishing us a happy birthday, they forgot the candle on our obligatory dessert. Which came off the specials menu and was as far from special as you can get. A bland piece of chocolate cake that barely had the advertised walnut sauce. Pretty disappointing end to the meal, which made all three of us ill overnight (likely from the aforementioned cauliflower)

The table that we sat out was in too loud. We sat for 15 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. We then ordered dinner, which was delicious aside from the meatballs that were frozen when we cut into them. The restaurant did comp the meatballs and a glass of wine. However, the damage had been done. Our waiter disappeared for long periods of time. Once we got our food, he did not come and check and see how we were doing. Not the best experience overall. Not sure we will be going back.

We had to change our reservation from 4 to 2 the day of and they were super accommodating. We have been to L'inizio several times and they have never disappointed - terrific food and attentive service. My husband has food allergies, they always know exactly what is in their food and have modified their dishes for him. This seems like a no-brainer, but people who have food allergies can attest to restaurants who are unable or unwilling to safely accommodate allergies. We never have to worry about that at L'inizio.

This chef KNOWS flavors. EVERY single item I ordered was outstanding…… baked clams, meatballs, Bronzino. I just stopped by because I had business nearby and was hungry for dinner. As a businessman that travels from southern Florida to Yonkers looking for a decent meal, this was an extraordinary discovery. Since I’ll be conducting more business in the area, I can’t wait for my return.

The food here is always amazing and innovative. Loved the bucatini, pasta Nero, and branzino. And make sure to save room for desserts! Penny Lick ice cream and sorbet (chocolate coconut sorbet last night) are always fabulous. My other favorite is the cheesecake in a jar!

The appetizers were delicious and so was the pasta dinner we had for dinner. They didn’t have sparkling water. They were all out, so that was the first thing that wasn’t good. The tables were sticky not because they weren’t clean, but the wood varnish was worn out. We used our napkins as a tablecloth. We did not order dessert because it was expensive. Everything in the dessert menu was $15. We was not going to pay $15 for ice cream or gelato. We thought that was absurd. Their cocktails were good and so was their red wine. I don’t think I will return unless I cannot get a reservation somewhere else.

Great use of late summer, seasonal vegetables and fruits. The charred corn salad, the butternut squash parmigiana, and the warm fruit cobbler with ice cream were knockouts! In each case, the presentation was simple but the depth of flavor impressive.

We recieved a gift card and were excited to enjoy a Sunday dinner at L'inizio. The menu was very limited- mostly pasta and chicken (...cost effective). The food was pedestrian at best (also no bread, no salad, no vegetable) and the prices were ridiculous to say the least. Seriously, I don't know what the attraction is.

Only had issues with the food. Staff, noise level & atmosphere were fine. My wife I had the fettuccine nero with seafood, which we normally love. However, the sauce was heavy, which I've never encountered with this dish. It detracted from the seafood, which was fresh & tasty. The special dessert, a berry cobbler, was disappointing & not really a berry cobbler. It was more of a "pot pie" with the berries in a ramekin type dish with a loose cover at the top, which lacked the flavor of a cobbler topping.

The service was wonderful! Heather, the owner greeted us along with the GM David. The pasta is fresh and absolutely delicious- feels like you are in Italy! The dishes were creative and tasty using fresh in-season ingredients. We will be back!

The food was very good. Especially the pasta. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Prices were a bit high for mocktails. Overall, it was a good experience. We will definitely be going back to try other pasta dishes.

The Food is always good there. To get honest we were there with 4, my son and daughter in law came with us. All plates were good, only issue was my son's. Chicken Scarpariello. They gave him such a small piece of chicken, one piece that we all were like WTH... I mean seriously it's chicken,give a few pieces for 34$. Little disappointed.

The dishes are so well prepared that even if you feel like you're not ordering what you truly want, you will be very impressed. We already know the pastas are the best, but were also surprised by the special salad and the burger with amazing fingerling potatoes this time around. Cocktails really pack a punch.

The food was amazing! One of the best meals I’ve had. The Fettuccine Nero was delicious. The seafood, fresh and prepared to perfection. Cauliflower appetizer was a mix of crispy and tender inside that brought out a wonderful flavor. Highly recommend the bread pudding for dessert so delicate and delicious. A place you must try!
