I can always count on a delicious bowl of pasta here. The bomboloni never disappoints and my friend said this was the best chocolate sorbet she ever had. Can't wait to go back.
Great food, great service, cool spot !!!
Quiet and great food!!
They offered a 4 course menu for New Years Eve and the choices were good. Baked clams were delicious and just enough, I followed the with lobster ravioli, again delicious. My son and I had the steak as our entree and it was done to perfection. My husband had the chicken scarpiello and enjoyed it. Dessert followed but I was too full to eat it and it came home with me for the grandchildren
L’Inizio offers a consistent and constantly above standard experience in terms of food and staffing. Heather and Scott are terrific.
The food was amazing. The service was superb This place is a hidden gem
The first thing that turned us off was the fact that they were not checking to see if people were vaccinated. The second thing was the fact that there was no circulation of air. If there had been more patrons, we would not have stayed for dinner. We were lucky there were so few guests the night that we went.
The food was good but not special. More like a good trattoria than a special place to have dinner.
from the minute you walk in, you are warmly greeted. the staff do an excellent job. the food is always outstanding. we will be back
Great food as always. Crispy cauliflower, beetroot pasta, chicken parm. Give the potato chips a miss. Very greasy and some kind of aftertaste, perhaps from the oil.
L'inizio is a great local place for a creative Italian meal.
Brought my fiancé here for a birthday dinner. Server was excellent, helped with wine selection. All the food was very good. Would highly recommend and will certainly be back myself!
Outstanding as always. Great to see that not only did L’Inizio weather the COVID and Flood storm, they’ve actually gotten better. Amazing up and down the menu with fantastic desserts as well.
L'inizio continues to impress. It remains a stand out for dining in Westchester. A creative Italian menu executed wonderfully with quality ingredients and features dishes you won't find at other Italian restaurants. Highly recommended.
What a find! Cozy, warm, friendly ambiance..interesting selections with both cocktails and wine, and delicious entrees and pasta dishes. Very smart to offer smaller and full size portions!
Service, particularly a little extra for a birthday greeting, was exceptional.
I will be returning, often I hope.
I've been to L'inizio 3X now. I am first generation Italian and my parents were in the restaurant business. I'm not a critic, I'm just like you. I love to cook and I know good food.
Hate to say it but our meals this go around was just okay. Last time a bit better but definitely not special.
They overcooked the octopus but the dish was still very good. recommended.
The chicken scarpariello was not great. Broccoli rabe in the dish. Seriously? If that's the creative touch then you better stick to the basics which on this dish is necessary. My ricotta cavatelli bolognese was not great. Over salted and sauce was not balanced with sweetness and acidity.
Sorry L'inizio but just being real here. I'm not saying stay away just that as an Italian American restaurant, there are others is you want to switch it up. Mulino's for example. The rest are in Manh.
My wife's Carbonara was bland. No heart in it.
Attentive servers, a little noisy once the tables filled, nice portions of delicious pasta and chicken. Looking forward to dining here again, highly recommend.
Not sure what all the hoopla is about. L’inizio is an unremarkable place. The food is acceptable but not outstanding. The interior is pleasant and comfortable enough but nothing great. If you live in the neighborhood it could be a nice local spot but it’s not worth a special trip. You can find better Italian food in most towns, and the prices are high—$45 for pork tenderloin? Our waitress was welcoming and attentive, but the other waiter was neither. I doubt we'll return.
Less than five miles from where we live, we wondered why we had not come here before.
Wonderful experience with excellent food and attentive and friendly service.
The Crispy Cauliflower appetizer was amazing and quite different from any cauliflower dish we’ve had before. A burst of multiple flavors.
Great service...food is consistently very good. Kale salad was disappointing....everything else was very good. A little pricy on fish special....an average size piece of salmon shouldn't be over $40.
This place has great food and great service. No kidding.
Outstanding, one of our favorites, always! Wonderful staff and great food:)
Great food, excellent service and wonderful ambience!
Amazing experience as always at L’inizio! Took my two kids to brunch with me. The food and service were amazing. My kids, who are picky eaters, loved the food. I loved the bottomless bloody marys and my omelet was delicious. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Westchester.
Great food, service and atmosphere
Some of the best Italian in the area for a great price. You can get italian-american food whoch isn't as good for more money or true Italian-modern at L'nizio's. I just wish they had a better wine list.
The food is just impeccable! The homemade pastas are absolutely fantastic. The octopus and duck liver pate appetizers were mind blowing. Thanks for making our night! We don’t get to go out much so this was very special.
The most gracious host/owners, who always remember us, and greet us warmly. Food is delicious, and the service is good. And, although we have many favorite dishes on the menu, there are always interesting seasonal specials, equally as delicious as the regular menu items. A great restaurant!
Brunch was amazing.
Food has always been good and remains so but service and attention to the table has steadily declined in each of our past few times here.
Great all around!
The food was incredibly delicious! The service was outstanding! It was the perfect date night! ♥️
We had a delicious meal! We enjoyed the experience and the fun vibe at the restaurant.
Fantastic meal in my home town of Ardsley, NY with my 87 year old mom and my sister-in-law (older brother's wife)
The food was excellent and we enjoyed three pasta dishes (carbonera, Seafood and duck), a chicken dish with sausages was brought to us after the pasta (as we requested). The ricotta with honey appetizer was also enjoyed by all.
We had the doughnut holes with chocolate sauce for dessert which was also very good.
The servers were very attentive to the needs of my Mom who uses a walker.
Some of the other patrons knew my sister-in-law and chatting with them made the evening more enjoyable.
I will definitely be back.
One minor quibble is that my pasta dish was not quite as hot (in temperature) as I would have preferred.
Looking forward to another meal here during my next NY visit.
Interesting and delicious menu everytime. There is outdoor seating with heaters which is great right now, but they are always a win.
Outdoors: owners did a nice job with a backyard next to a auto repair place. we were Kept warm with 3 large propane heaters. They should add some more plants and perimeter screening
Drinks: reasonable wine prices and good quality, nice pear martini- but no draft beer available- why?
Octopus with Chorzio sausage with beans and fresh crisp vegetables - delicious, but needed more Octopus pieces and less sausage wheels
Brussel sprouts - very large portion for one person, great flavor but reduce the portion size and price
Creste di Gallo - mushrooms were the bomb, kale was tender. I never saw pasta shaped like a rooster's head crest
Special - razor clams with home made parpadelle and sausage. Great broth/sauce - al dente pasta
Improvements: take away the chef's salt shaker. The flavors in the food need NO additional salt
Javier was a wonderful waiter and made our outdoor dinner a lovely extra.
We had a wonderful experience at L'Inizio. Great ambience, food delicious. Very cozy. The bar they opened adjacent is a great addition. Highly recommend.
The Sunday brunch at L'Inizio was great. The food and service was excellent. Choices of breakfast or lunch type entrees, all very reasonably priced. Only slight negative was that it DID get a bit loud in the small back room when some larger groups arrived.
Always a great meal when we dine here…. A small hidden gem with a menu that is sure to please. Dare I say we have never had a bad meal here and this is not something I can say about most places.
Excellent choice for dinner in the Rivertowns. The pasta dishes are outstanding.
