Lindey's is a high-energy, white tablecloth restaurant serving the finest American cuisine in an upper east side New York bistro setting. Nestled in historic German Village, the design incorporates original artwork, bentwood chairs, copper topped bars and hardwood floors. With its exciting and vibrant atmosphere, Lindey's has three main dining rooms, four private party rooms and an award winning outdoor courtyard that has been voted the best patio in Columbus.
A nearly perfect late afternoon, before a show dinner on the patio. Lindey's did not have anything to do with the weather or the company but everything else that was great was Lindey's! Service was immediate upon sitting with water (attentive throughout the meal) and then our waitress arrived with a smile and attention for drinks. Menu questions were answered well and our decisions became clear because of that knowledge. The patio was pretty full but it was obvious that the entire service staff is attentive and responsive to subtle cues and needs of patrons.
Great customer service, such a beautiful place. The food was very good and well priced. Definitely becoming a regular.
Patio was delightful
The patio at Lindsey's is a must do in Columbus. Waiter made great suggestions. Food was excellent. Cost is higher than most places in Columbus, but well worth it for special occasions.
AJ was very attentive!
The mushroom soup was excellent!
It was the cousins’ lunch and we visited for a long time, but did not feel rushed at all, We will be back next August!
Once again we had a wonderful start to a new school year. The location, ambiance, food and service are the best. The patio and fountain were especially lovely after dark.
We have frequented Lindey’s many times in the 30 years we’ve lived in Columbus... always our number 1 special event spot. Thursday night we were rushed... to place orders, I was eating my salad when they brought my main course, removing my salad plate. The outside patio was beautiful and food standard as always, it seems the wait staff didn’t care about providing the usual stellar service.
First time dining at Lindsey's and I think it was very nice location. Very convenient. Food was very good even though the service was just good. The noise was extremely. You can hear everybody's conversations everywhere. Even though we requested a quiet table. Good experience I would say.
Although the server was professional and gracious, it took an inordinate amount of time to bring both the appetizer and primary meal. Also, my tournedos were very undercooked after requesting medium. However, you can’t beat the outdoor ambience on the patio.
We have had good experiences in this prior to this visit. It was our anniversary .We were placed at a table Beside the stairwell leading to the basement, add a tiny table and my view was a brick wall. The waiter was less than solicitous. The food was fine but not up to the standards that I think about for Lindey’s. The citronella torch was burning in the smoke was coming my way and my husbands way. It just didn’t make for a good anniversary celebration.
Lindeys as always offers a tremendous spot for fine dining and excellent food. We sat on the patio enjoyed a leisurely dinner and both had the Australian sea bass, it was exceptional.
Always great. Food very tasty and service very nice. We ate inside, which is just as nice as outside.
The patio is so wonderful!
My friend and I had a wonderful time at Lindey's. All the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Our server was simply outstanding. He made us feel so special. I was celebrating my birthday.
Lindey's has been a favorite restaurant for many years. The staff is extremely professional and the food is consistently excellent. We also enjoy the location in German Village.
it's been awhile. I used to be in Columbus a lot before i retired. It was my favorite restaurant. Nothing has changed except the size. But service and food are still wonderful. Looking forward to visiting again.
The food was excellent, however the service was lacking. After being seated, it took between 5 and 10 minutes for us to be greeted. While the server was not rude, she was cold and acted like she had something better to do than wait on our table. My wife and I felt like we were an inconvenience.
While I would still recommend Lindey's to a friend, it would come with a caveat about the service.
Food was great but server missed an order and was unapologetic. An anomaly in this great restaurant
Great food, great time. Patio was beautiful
The patio is absolutely beautiful and makes you feel like “ you’re somewhere else”! AJ
was our waiter, very organized and pleasant. The food was outstanding! I had the risotto with lobster and shrimp, the special dish of the day, and believe me, it was special!
This restaurant was great. There was something for everyone and we all enjoyed the food. The service was good and took care of our party of 8. I would return the next time I'm in Columbus!
They sat a large party right beside us who were EXTREMELY loud. They should have seated them in a private room, as they disturbed everyone. We couldn’t hear each other at a table of four. Furthermore, we were celebrating my wife’s birthday and they didn’t even really recognize it. I guess we will go back to Cameron Mitchell restaurants. I hadn’t been to Lindey’s before and won’t be going back again any time soon.
The food was excellent and the service was great! We ate outside and the weather was perfect. The patio is adorable, however the tables are slightly smaller and the menus take up some space. Other than that, it was great!
We were somewhat disappointed in our most recent visit. We had a reservation, but were not given a very good table, even though many were available. This was 2:00 on a Sunday. First, we were seated at a table right above an air conditioning unit. We were then moved to the back room where almost no one was seated. We had to wait quite a while to meet our waitress. I would say that the service from that time on was fine, but not exceptional. The food was excellent except for the wedge salad. The lettuce had spots on it. This is not the quality we expect from Lindey's.
My husband and I had brunch at Lindey's to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. It was simply delightful to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the beautiful surroundings while eating delicious food. The wait staff, Kelsie, was attentive and helpful. Actually all the staff we encountered were pleasant and courteous.
Most food is wonderful. Very attentive service and relaxed atmosphere. Beignets were a real disappointment. They seem to have a different recipe.
This is our go-to spot for anniversary every year, but we were disappointed this time. Branzini entree had to be sent back for overly-fishy taste. Server was brusque, bus boy was confused. Just not what we’re used to at Lindey’s.
Great!!! I’d go again and again!
This was great experience. I'm so glad I chose this restaurant for dinner.
Wonderful brunch and service as usual! Will definitely be back!
Relaxing evening. Many servers seeing to all of your needs. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was even better.
Great experience as always...looking like the physical location is due for some upgrades...but had a fantastic experience
Lindeys is the best for special occasions. Incredible food as always
Fantastic food and waiter! Crab cakes Band shrimp and lobster risotto were the best ever. The filet was melt in your mouth!
This was my first disappointing experience at Lindey's. The hostess stand was mismanaged and chaotic. When my wife and I were seated it was at a table with an odd "L" arrangement where the bench did not extend all the way to the end of the table rendering most of the table useless and us feeling cramped. Our separate appetizers did not come out at the same time. My pork chop entree was overcooked and my wife's sea bass was dry. Dessert was delicious though. Service was acceptable but not as attentive as it should be. I hope this was just an off night and not a sign of what should be expected going forward.
Food was amazing! I love this restaurant. Unfortunately our server was not the best and was very inattentive. Out of character for Lindey’s though and I highly recommend.
Made a reservation for our anniversary dinner. We visited at 6:45 on a Wednesday night. Parking (if you don't use the valet service) is a bit of a nightmare in German Village. Valet service is nominally complimentary, but they obviously expect tips. Inside, we were greeted and we sat immediately (as expected with a reservation). Although it was a wonderful night to sit outside, seating on the patio would have required a 30-minute wait, so we elected to take our table inside. Immediately it was noticed that the main (i.e. non-bar) dining area was extremely loud. Trying to maximize seating, Lindey's positions the tables are very close to one another - the space is not so much an issue (for me) as the problem created by the noise: Everyone talks louder, and because the tables are so close, you practically feel like the other table is interrupting you.
Service was prompt, cheerful and helpful. We ordered the tempura cauliflower and carpaccio appetizers, and both were memorable and tasty. We ordered the risotto and torchio as main plates. Both were flavorful and delicious. We received our check and were cashed out promptly. Although the prices were not out of character for the quality of the food, the ambiance of the dinner made things feel rushed and agitated. I was happy to leave quickly. We eat out rarely, and at "fancy" restaurants even more rarely. I am accustomed to paying for the atmosphere of a fancy restaurant as much as for the food, so found it disappointing. As we passed by the bar dining area, that appeared to be much quieter. Because service was prompt, from the time we parked our car 3 blocks away until we drove away, things only took about 75 minutes, which is quite quick in our recent experience. Despite all the workers doing their job very well (from front end to servers to table busing to kitchen), I would not recommend visiting unless the goal is strictly people-watching, and not conversation. Or visit on a dead night.
Birthday dinner in the patio. What could be better than to celebrate at Lindey’s?!!
Sat on the patio ..Beautiful night
The place is iconic in Columbus and the food and service are always exceptional.
