Great Sunday brunch - my wife and I went there for our Anniversary brunch together with our 10 month old son. We had a great time!
Cole and I really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was amazing and accommodating (I ran into a lot of my coworkers so I was getting distracted a lot lolz.) the food was amazing, service was prompt. The waiter didn’t bug us and I would catch him out of the corner of my eye checking on us, we never had to ask for anything. I would recommend Lindey’s to anyone. Every penny was worth it and so much more. Cole and I look forward to returning.
I’m a Financial Advisor and am in Columbus visiting socially with some clients I don’t see often since I live so far away. I booked brunch for six.
The food - great. Reasonable portions, not too big. Everything was really wonderful. The atmosphere - smart. Loved the lighting, the tin ceiling tiles, layout, all of it.
Here’s what was wrong - our server Bitna was the most condescending, rude, and dismissive waitress I have dealt with in a great while; especially given that everything else about this place was spot on. I entertain clients out fairly often around the country so I’ve experienced a lot of servers and restaurants. I am forgiving to waitstaff and tip well but this woman made us all feel like we were an inconvenience to her the entire time we were there.
A few “highlights”:
1. She went through the specials right as we got seated. Fine. They had long descriptions with several components. For that reason, when she came back to the table one of my clients asked, “what was the omelette special?” Her response was, “the one I told you about earlier.” I politely coaxed her and said, “yes, with ham and what else?” Begrudgingly she went through it again.
2. Later we asked her to take a picture. She looked at my guest who asked her to do so as if he was asking her to give him her shoes off her feet. She had the camera for 10 seconds and when my guest asked her to take one more she said, “yeah I took three.” And walked away briskly.
3. When we were leaving nobody was there to grab our coats that we had checked. It was relatively quiet, now closer to 2:30pm. She walked by so I asked her if we could get someone to grab our coats. She hurriedly replied, “yes up at the stand they will get it for you.” - we were by the stand and nobody was there. She walked away again. Finally losing my patience, when she walked by me again (clearly seeing nobody was helping us) I said “hey. Do you see anyone at the stand? I don’t. Why don’t you go get them for me. Thanks.”
Lindey’s never disappoints. We dined with friends who also love Lindey’s and we all commented that collectively, we’ve always enjoyed a great dining experience there. Food is great and the service is always on point....
We love Lindey’s. We have come here for many reasons, but it’s our annual wedding anniversary spot, and it will continue to be! They take such good care of us, and we have never had one crumb of bad food. It’s just our favorite spot in the city.
I like Lindey’s a lot. This time it was difficult to carry a conversation because other customers were talking and laughing too loud.
As always - great service and delicious food.
As always, Lindey's never disappoints. The service is great and the cuisine is the best. We had the shrimp and lobster Risotto, it was just marvelous. Topped it off with a Banana's Foster for desert, so yummy. It's also great that there is valet parking, for us older ladies it makes it so easy. Everything was just great.
Great place-wonderful atmosphere!
Lindey’s is an adorable date spot! It feels intimate and has classy decor from the moment you approach the building.
Absolutely amazing!!! I started with the French onion soup and it was delicious! I had the duck for my entree and it was cooked to perfection. The flavor was outstanding and paired perfectly with the vegetables on the side. My husband ordered the beef tornadoes and they were also scrumptious!
Very friendly and professional. They are dressed in crisp white blouses and wear ties and black slacks. It gives a real sense of class. Small detail that does not go unnoticed.
Love this little spot. The brick building is so charming and feels like a place where you want to stay awhile and relax with loved ones.
Unwrapped toothpick was underneath napkin. Other than that it was great!
Excellent place for a business lunch. Spicy chicken sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.
Excellent experience all the way around. Our server David was efficient and friendly, even though he had a lot of tables.
Went here for a special occasion with family in town. Couldn't have enjoyed our time more, great specialty cocktails for starters. Entrees were wonderful, particularly the filet and the shrimp/lobster risotto. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Lindey's has been around for a long time, but it doesn't feel like it. It is anything but stale. The place is still pretty hip and is always lots of fun, particularly the patio in warmer weather. The food is excellent, as is the service. The wine list is carefully selected and always full of pleasant surprises. Wy wife and I have been coming here for over 20 years and it is still one of the best restaurants in Columbus.
We drove from Cincinnati to Columbus to celebrate our daughter's birthday at Lindsey's . In the past two years we have driven the hundred mile distance to Lindey's eight times because we love everything about this delightful restaurant in German Village. We love the friendly servers, the cozy atmosphere, and the delicious food. Brunch is our favorite. There are so many items to choose from to go with the French press coffee and the delicious beignets. We can't wait for the weather to warm up so we will be able to dine in the courtyard.
We had a wonderful dinner with a very talented and friendly waitress. The timing of the courses was perfect, relaxed, but not slow. The dishes were well thought out prepared perfectly. We were both very pleased and look forward to going back. We did notice that it gets pretty loud, as the gorgeous older building has fairly low ceilings and the tables are somewhat close together. This did not bother us, but it is worth noting.
Absolutely delicious food! Service was good. Our table was positioned so there was a draft by the door so it was a bit chilly. Use valet or read parking signs very carefully. We didn’t and ended up with a $50 ticket. We would dine there again and we will use valet!
Anniversary dinner... perfect choice for a romantic evening.
Fantastic Resraurant !
The Best Restaurant in Columbus !!
Mitch is the absolute best! Thanks for the great meal.
The food was GREAT !! our server was GREAT also. Had been a while since we had been there, will definitely be going back.
Fantastic meal with amazing service.
Great date with the wife and daughter. Ambience was great. Service was outstanding
Everything was good as usual, but ravioli tasted too strong
Went to Lindey's for my birthday. Food was good, server was great.
One of my favorite restaurants. This is a place I go to for special events -- birthdays, visitors to the city. The food is excellent as is the service. They have a very good dessert menu. It is also nice that they have valet parking -- a real plus for German Village.
We celebrated our anniversary here and it was such a special evening! The candle that was brought out and the corner table made it truly memorable.
I did enquire about potentially getting a champagne bottle, after the reservation was already made, and received no response in any way regarding my request, hence the 3-4 star service rating.
Other than that, it was an enchanting evening with great food and hopefully we’ll be back in Columbus celebrating the next year at Lindey’s!
I've been a long fan of Lindey's. They consistently have great food, a nice wine list, and good service. It also has a nice charming feel of a neighborhood restaurant and bar. I'd highly recommend it and will definitely keep going back.
Amazing as always! Celebrated our daughter’s birthday and we do that every year at Lindeys!
Food was excellent from soup to dessert...I had French Onion soup, very good! Tried the lobster bisque, wow! Salad was crispy and just the right size. I had cod which was cooked to perfection, and tasted my husband’s lamb chops which were amazing. For dessert we tried a few desserts (6 of us): the creme bulge was my favorite with the chocolate torte a close second. I tasted the bread pudding, but not a fan. I will say, our server was just okay; no personality and didn’t check to make sure everything was ok. The good news is the supporting staff who handled water and food delivery was outstanding. Lindey’s is still one of the best restaurants in our area!
We had a great meal -- Service was fantastic and the food was terrific. Our favorite place in Columbus!
We visited downtown Columbus because the Ohio Arnold Classic fitness expo was going on. We searched the web for places to eat that were somewhat healthy and not just fried food. We found this joint and were blown away. The valet parking was awesome. The food was amazing as well. We both got the rotisserie chicken and it was beyond delicious. I also got a side of mac and cheese and it was the best $7 tastiest mac and cheese I have ever had! Would highly recommend this place!
Birthday dinner. Food was good as always and service was excellent.
Such a cute place
Loved atmosphere and food
Jack was a great waiter
Superb food and atmosphere - took a business guest who was very impressed with dinner.
Weren’t given bread. I had to ask for it after our food came.
If this had been our first time at Lindey’s, it would also have been our last. It is very rare to have a bad experience here. We were seated and then waited 20 minutes with no server. We finally flagged down a server and were then taken care of. The food was wonderful, as always, but we were really disappointed in the lack of customer service. Lindey’s, you’re better than this.
