Lindey's Ratings and Reviews
This was my first time dining at Linsey’s and it was phenomenal. The service started out a little shakey but that could be due to the fact that the restaurant was slightly busy. As dinner went on, the waitress became more friendly and things seemed to move quicker. The food was delicious and the drinks were even better. Decently priced. If you are on a budget, this is definitely not a place where you want to eat all the time. But it’s nice for a once and a while meal. Overall great experience.
The farm board was very tasty. The Cobb salad was crisp and delicious. The entree was good, but not exceptional. My steak was done to my liking though it lacked flavor. Likewise, the mashed potatoes were bland. At least the asparagus had the expected zing. Dessert was a very mediocre brownie, a scoop of coffee ice cream, and chocolate sauce. To be fair, everyone else in my party enjoyed their food with several compliments directed to the wait staff.
This is the second time we have dined at Lindey’s and we were impressed again! The food, the atmosphere and service were all so wonderful. Our server was helpful, timely, and even mentioned the available discount for having Ohio Theatre tickets that evening. Thank you! We will definitely be visiting again on our next weekend in Columbus!
Other than the hair in my salmon, the lack of service from our server after the hair was found, the need to hurry up and order by our server, the valet neglect not helping with the car service, the extremely high noise level, the okay food, and the high price, I guess if you enjoy these amenities you would select this restaurant. However I will say the woman that responded to my dangling salmon hair offered my some soup and was attentive, but it did not make up for the rest of the dining experience. With so many fine dining offerings in Columbus this will never be on our list again.
All of the above. My favorite restaurant in Columbus. Food is always impeccable but the atmosphere is just as inviting. My husband and I have gone to Lindey’s for 8 years and even had our rehearsal dinner there. The best french onion soup we’ve had, a great variety on the menu and their french press coffee is always hot and delicious.
Lindey's is a marvelous standout in a city that's otherwise awash in cookie-cutter "group" and faux-trendy restaurants. It is professionally managed, guest-centric, and absolutely charming, if not a bit "old school" (which, in my book, is a very good thing!). In all of Columbus, there are a handful of notable restaurants (I can only think of one or two others), but Lindey's carries on their tradition of very good food, well- and professionally-served, and in a delightful environment. Our friends and family in the area agree with the assessment that "Simply stated, Lindey's is for the discriminating -- very good taste with a casual, but chic flair." Very gracious, indeed.
I had a very positive experience with the restaurant staff and food quality. I was not impressed with he valet service. They were very slow and the line of people waiting for their vehicles inconvenienced people sitting in the front of the restaurant and bar area.
As always, Lindey’s did not disappoint! We always try to stop by when we’re back in town over the holidays for a romantic date night. We live in New York and are always impressed with the quality of food, wine and service that Lindey’s brings to Columbus. It puts many restaurants in the big apple to shame. This visit, we tried the Ahi Tuna for our app and it was absolutely divine! Fresh, delicious and coupled with a bit of wasabi for the win. Main course was Steak Frites and Crab Cakes, with a recommended wine from Spain to pair. We were in heaven!
The scallops and duck were delectable
We’ve been to Lindey’s about 2-3x/year but this time the wait staff were overworked and obviously disorganized...late drinks..late order taking..delayed delivery.
Despite all that, we love Lindey’s and will return again and again
We celebrated Christmas dinner on December 23 at Lindey’s and had a wonderful time, enjoyed outstanding food, particularly the lobster bisque which was uniquely smooth, not heavy at all, and quite delicious.
Two of us had cedar plank salmon which was outstanding, one had the fillet which was very good, ine had the scallops and raved about them, another had the shrimp and lobster risotto and the last had pasta with marinara sauce.
While our waiter was polite and cordial he could have been a little bit more on his game, since it was easy to serve our table as we were back in a quiet corner not far from the serving station in the kitchen. We often have very good service at this restaurant and our waiter just was not the most outgoing and not quite as attentive, although his service was acceptable. Forgetting my son-in-law’s after dinner drink Also give us pause and so we withhold a higher rating.
Lindy’s always delivers great food. We’ve eaten here many times and the service has always been great. Our server during our most recent visit was inattentive, unhappy and did not bring us the right meals, even after repeating our order back to us. He was unapologetic that our order was wrong and even upcharged for premium vodka when it wasn’t ordered that way. I would not go back to Lindy’s if he was my waiter again. He treated us as if he was too busy to deliver the level of serve we’re used to at Lindy’s. We will return to Lindy’s because the chef is amazing, but I will ask for a different waiter if he is assigned to my table. Lindy’s management should be aware that this effects their reputation.
Overall, the experience was great. My only complaint is that we were headed to see a show and I wish the server would have mentioned that we could get 20% off our bill if we showed him our tickets. We even discussed the show with him! We saw the 20% advertisement in the playbill at the Theater. That was a bit frustrating.
After making my Open Table reservation, I called the restaurant and requested a table in the middle room since some of our group are hard of hearing and elderly. Instead, we arrived and were told they could not accommodate our request. This made it extremely difficult to communicate throughout the meal.
During the 20 years I lived in Columbus, Lindey’s was a frequent favorite of mine. Now, living in Dayton, I go back to dine just once a year and it’s as special as it was when I first discovered it while in college. I’ve spent many special occasions at Lindey’s (including one of my bridal showers) and love it each and every time. Many thanks for the continued high standards in both food quality and service you offer.
